Gorgeous view! Sat on the balcony and saw pods of dolphins and turtles every morning! Very clean property! Had all the little amenities in the condo needed even AC but had great cross ventilation so was ok with us. Stairs were a little difficult with luggage but otherwise good for our legs.
Carpet was gross, I usually like to be bare foot and i had to wear my shoes as the carpet felt gross. I did see a couple of cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom but that happens in Maui.

We were so comfortable in this condo complex. The owner residents as well as other vacationers were so friendly, relaxed, and helpful. We loved the intimate feel of the complex rather than being in a large resort; it was like having a private beach and pool. The condo is adequately appointed, has incredible second story views, walkable to the park, food carts, coffee shop, gift store, etc. We enjoyed our down time on the property just as much as our daylong excursions around the island. We felt very much at home and definitely preferred it to a hotel resort. Can't wait to return!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It has a great view of the ocean, a clean pool, and access to a great beach for the kids. I spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the whales and sunsets.The property wasn't quite ready for us when we checked in, even though we were there way past check-in time. We didn't get access to the wifi and other things because of this. The ceiling fan also broke during our stay, where one of the blades fell off. I would rate this property as excellent if they updated it from the 80s. Valerie the property manager did help us out once the fan broke and she got us the information about the wifi.

Everything was perfect. Bed was comfortable. We did use air plugs at night due to the noise from the street. There was no a/c, but with the fans and wind we had no problem with the heat.

Everything about Hale Kai was exactly what we wanted. Check in and out was easy. There was always parking which was included. We could walk down the stairs and be in the water with turtles and fish. Easy walking to lots of great food options. The condo had everything we needed to relax after exploring all day. I can not say enough about how wonderful this all was.

Great location - could watch Whales breaching from the patio. Complex is right on the beach. Free Bus service for 60+ is perk, no car needed. Views from the deck are gorgeous even without whales.Unit 218 is fine for two people. Unit has deferred maintenance that detracts visually but everything functions well.Furniture and bed very comfortable, not worn.

We enjoyed our time in 218 at Hale Kai. The view of the ocean only 100 feet in front of our lanai, and the lit pool at night was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Just make sure you bring all your own spices, etc. Some of the furnishings and bathroom items would be appreciated if updated, but hey, we sure did enjoy our stay. The full time residences at Hale Kai are delightful. They meet every sundown at the pool and have a conch blowing ceremony to say goodbye to another day. They are a very social group, and corral newbies into their fold. We’d welcome the opportunity to stay there again.

We have been to Hale Kai 3 times now and this is the 2nd time during whale season. Great to sit on the lanai and whale watch. The condo and pool were both clean and beautiful.
