We enjoyed our time at Hale Kai. The grounds are well maintained. Our condo was clean, well stocked and best of all ocean front. The lanai was always shaded, so we spent a lot of time there watching the waves. Condo was located next to a park with a lovely beach. This great location for exploring Maui!

This location was ideal for our 3.5 year old! So close to the beach and the beach had trees that provided shade. There is also I nice reef break that makes the water a little calmer for young kiddos to play. Only suggestion we have is to add an A/C unit... especially in the loft bedroom. It did get quite warm in the afternoons and evenings in the loft. There is a fan and window in the loft to help with airflow but A/C would help!

I have been coming here since 2006. I have always had a fantastic time! This location is amazing...so beautiful and peaceful! The staff is great. They are there if you need them, yet you feel like this place is your home!

We had stayed here before. The fires really changed the overall feeling of the area in a negative way. The grounds were nice but the pool was cold. The unit itself was oddly furnished with a small TV. All in all, just OK.

Hale Kai has a great atmosphere, many people know each other. So easy to meet others, not like a big resort. Prices are increasing, which is understandable. However, this is an older property and many units could use some internal updates. At the new price points, there are other accomodations nearby that are now very competitive. Still, the 'vibe' of the Hale Kai is what brings people back - and I'll be back next February.

Hale Kai is my go-to spot in Western Maui. We stayed in #205 this trip. Very clean second story unit facing park with ocean view. Kitchen was well stocked with lots of dishes, pots & pans. We do like to prepare our breakfast and lunch in unit and eat out for dinner. This unit had a loft with a super comfy king bed and small bathroom and downstairs with queen bed and another bathroom. Grounds were impeccable as usual. Pool was spotless and lots of lounge chairs. We enjoyed visiting with past guests and made new friends. Melody in the office is wonderful and very helpful. Neighborhood is great for walking and lots of small local restaurants! We will be returning next year!
