Optimal view. Very much enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching whales, turtles, and a school of dolphins. Even a seal one morning. Something for everyone— snorkeling, pool, looking for sea glass, and booger boarding. Condo was very comfortable and clean

Fantastic experience. View is unbeatable. Fell asleep to the waves every night. Saw whales breaching from the Lanai. Easy short drive to Lahaina and Kapalua and great nearby amenities like Pau Bakery and Bad *** Coffee. The pool and BBQ are pretty wanky and there is no spa, but the unit was clean and well maintained. There are laundry facilities if you need them and parking is super easy. If you are looking for something quiet and relaxing this is the place. If you want the mega-resort feel, go somewhere else.
We had a great time! You can’t beat this view and stepping right out to the beach. The only thing I’d change isn’t even a complaint—I’d have a shower wand in the shower to make it easier to clean sand out of the shower. (I just kept a bowl in there to rinse it.) Corner view and watching the baby whales jump while enjoying breakfast was magical.

I take my family to Maui every year and usually stay at a nearby condo for the last 14 years. My son and I always end up spending a day at the Honokawai Beach Park, as it’s shallow beach is great so this year, for our last year visiting, we decided to stay at Hale Kai and got what I thought their best location. Unfortunately regretted it in an instant. This corner unit is surrounded by glass windows which gives you best view: sunset and the ocean at all times, it also heats up the entire condo to 102 degrees inside. There is no AC in the unit. You may think oh the fans and breeze is enough, you are wrong. The high noon sun will cook you inside and not even the light filtering shades will help because — well they’re only light filtering. When you start cooking, oh it’s over. You’ll feel like you’re being cremated. On our last 2 nights there I ended up moving my family out and getting a hotel nearby because guess what, there was a power outage that made our situation worse! While it’s not their fault, we were told by people there that it’s been happening and no one warned us about it upon booking. With how hot that place gets + power outage = slow and painful death and I have my senior parents and child with me. They refused to give me a partial refund for the last 2 nights which is disappointing because they’re double what I used to pay for. Will never recommend. Will never use again.

This is our 2nd stay at Hale Kai and our first in unit 101. The location is fantastic and the property has improved since our last stay. We will certainly be back!
We had a lovely family vacation staying at this location. The proximity to the beach, pool access and closeness of shops was great. The condo had everything we needed to cook meals. We would love to come here again.

Whale and turtle watching from the deck was fabulous. Site offers something for everyone. Son-in-law and daughter are able to enjoy snorkeling and granddaughter enjoys exploring and running on the beach as well as swimming in the pool. Am concerned about the condition of the property. Mop boards and doors were very dirty as well as some walls.
