Clean and well-supplied unit, but owner is very hard to get hold of. Door and gate codes changed, got locked out of room early on checkout, and when notified of water shutoff on short notice owner went dark. so make sure you have the codes early! otherwise a nicely located well-maintained unit.
The property manager is amazing and worked hard and fast to take care of issues that arose. The only problem is that we had quite a few issues. We got in late and the beds were not made with me breaking in to a closet ant 2AM, and the “sleeps 4” is not so much. There is an amazing King bed and a back breaking hide-a-bed that barely sleeps one at an angle. Since I have a teen boy and teen girl, one had to sleep on the floor until I found a self-deflating mattress hidden in a storage closet 2 days later. I also had to buy blankets the next day (which were reimbursed) because we hit a cold week and what I did find was sparse. It’s a nice garden view with lively brain rattling leaf blowers 2 days a week A-L-L morning long. Took the serenity of the garden to the next level. It’s not a bad place, but it is budget and luckily my brother was down the road with a lounge that sat 12. It’s probably great for a couple with one small child. The pools, view and neighbors are really great and it is close to Kona but you need to drive to most places. Since it is on the ground floor it has amazing access to the courtyard amenities, but you can hear peeps upstairs. There is a laundromat on site but take LOTS of quarters, or go to your brothers down the street. All in all, it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t anything to send postcards home about.
This is my second time staying at this location. The condo was perfect for my week stay. Clean, had everything I needed in the kitchen and for the week (beach chairs, pool floats, yoga mat…) Air conditioning in the unit was appreciated, and bedroom and patio fans were wonderful to stay cool in the evenings. Easy arrival process, received all codes for gates and doors before arrival. And a lovely surprise of island chocolates on the counter :). Main bed very comfortable. Did not use the pull out couch bed as it was a solo trip.
You can hear the waves breaking when the patio door is open even though the unit is toward the far end of the condo (far end = less than a minute walk to the ocean). I love the salt water pool on the ocean, perfect for relaxing in the water and hearing the waves crash. Wale watched from the sandy lounge area at the condo, saw whales breach and play in the water.
Perfect central location on the island for visiting beaches, farmers markets or driving to Hilo or the volcano. Parking is easy and convenient in a gated lot.
10/10 recommend
Great location. Close to everything but not too close. Can walk just about everywhere. Loved that it's gated and a no smoking property.
The salt water pool is the best
Had a nice stay at Casa De Emdiko. Danielle, took care of a last minute late check out which helped us tremendously. Would stay here again.
I really love staying at Casa de Emdeko and unit B122 was beautiful and so clean. Looking forward to going back next year. Mahalo for making my vacation special!!
What a special place!!! Danielle was incredible to have as property manager. Casa Emdeko is a special place!!! We will return❤️
This is the first time on ground floor, enjoyed the garden area and an easy walk to both pools. Unit could use more silverware, and dishes along with a salad bowl, but it was nice the frig had an ice maker. Bathroom could use a good clean, mold in shower and drains full of hair. A/C worked really well.
Yes we are enjoying our stay - except for the delay in being able to get into our room at check-in. We understand that things can happen so it did not spoil our stay.
We are receiving this review on Friday morning February 3 but are not scheduled to leave until Monday Feb. 6. Hoping to continue our pleasant stay without any problems.
