Our host was amazing! She checked on us throughout our stay. The property was incredibly beautiful. Ocean on one side and mountains on the other! The property did not have A/C, but we were fully aware of that when we booked. The home is full of easy-to-open windows and fans and we stayed cool the entire time. The beds were SO comfy. The home has been so beautifully remodeled. Great neighborhood! So quiet! Close to the grocery store and several restaurants. I wish Meg would adopt us and let us live here! LOL
This was our second year in a row staying in Meg’s beautiful home in Princeville. This home is just perfect for our family of 5 with young kids; the home layout is ideal, has a hot tub, and amazing views and quick walk for an incredible sunset. You are also super close to Queen’s Bath and a quick drive to food and groceries. Couldn’t ask for anything better and plan to stay here again!!

We loved the neighborhood and being on the golf course within walking distance to AMAZING sunsets! Easy walking and the driving to Hanalei was very quick. Loved the openness of the house which allowed for all of us to cook dinner and play games at the large table. When windows and sliders are open there is a lovely breeze. It was perfect for our group of 6 and when grandparents came to dinner there was still tons of room.
This house was perfect! We enjoyed it so much! The main bedroom had such amazing breezes! The sunsets were so beautiful! I would highly recommend this property! This was by far our favorite place to stay on Kauai!

this house had everything, including excellent decor and comfortable but also beautiful furniture. it had kitchen utensils that are often missing in other rentals, including knives that actually can cut food! and a knife sharpener, to boot. the outdoor space is also comfortable. and we got to watch albatrosses doing their meeting thing. melia kai was perfect.

We rent from VRBO frequently and sometimes the photos don't always align . . . but this Princeville home exceeded our expectations! The location is stunning with views of the golf course, mountains and ocean in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. The home was a PERFECT size for the six of us (4 adults, 2 children). Meg has EVERYTHING you could possibly need in the kitchen, laundry, etc. The home is spotless and obviously well cared for. The hot tub was clean and a lovely respite after a lot of family activity! We HIGHLY recommend this home!!

This is a lovely property with a large living area. A great view from almost every room. The house is a classic mid century design. Well equipped overall making for a comfortable stay. It’s also close to all the beaches and amenities but in a quiet neighborhood. The host was terrific and flexible to accommodate our needs.

The location is perfect with golf course & ocean views. There is a place to watch the beautiful sunsets just a short walk down the golf course We even saw a beautiful small wedding on hole #7 on Friday late afternoon.

Loved staying here with a group of friends. The guest book gave amazing recommendations, and close to many beaches and restaurants/food trucks. Had an amazing view of sunset and the ocean beyond the golf course. The garage had beach chairs, and there were ample towels/beach towels. Would definitely stay again!
The house was great and in a beautiful location. Only complaint is that it did have a slight musty smell when we first got there.
The checkin process was very involved with waivers that needed to be signed and a request for personal information (name, age, phone number, email, home address) about everyone staying. I wasn't too concerned about giving the information but it was very odd that all of that was required. I called VRBO and they told me that I was required to give this information if the owner requested it or I would have to forfeit the payment. I wasn't happy about it but after contacting the owner they were more lenient and didn't require me to give all of the information.
The location of Princeville to the gorgeous beaches of Hanalei is unbeatable. Keep in mind if you want to adventure around the west shores this is more of a drive.

We absolutely loved our stay at Melia Kai. The home itself is luxurious, spacious, clean. Lots of nice little corners to relax. Perfect location with gorgeous sunsets, amazing bird watching, easy access to the main road.
Loved our stay! We enjoyed the area and bird watching on the back patio. Unfortunately when we were there the golf course was closed and heavy equipment was brought in to renovate the course. Despite that we still loved the view and sunsets. Good space for 4 adults. Meg is very responsive and a great host. No big issues. My family would definitely rent this place again.
We had a great time staying at Melia Kai! The views are gorgeous and most evenings we walked across the golf course to watch the sunset over the ocean. Great walking to Queen's Bath! The house is really lovely and is in a very safe and convenient location. Meg was very accommodating and easy to work with! We would love to come again!
Traveled with two adults and two teens and thoroughly enjoyed this property! I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Princeville or Hanalei area. The property was clean, had gorgeous views, was easy to find and had a very fun vibe. Meg was easy to work with and was a fabulous host. Don't hesitate and just book this property!
Our family of 5 had such a lovely time and stay at Malia Kai. The house is perfectly located with a beautiful view of the mountains and ocean. For a close bite to eat, you can walk to pick up pizza or at Welina Terrace with a view of Hanalei and a Mai Tai. After a day of adventure (surfing, kayaking), it was nice to relax in the hot tub star gazing. We loved our stay!
Meg is a fantastic host and our stay on the island was only made better by this great house. The layout, cleanliness, location, and overall feel couldn't have been better for our family of 5 (three kids under 7).
This is our 10th time coming to Kauai and first time with all three kids, everyone shared they hope the house is available again when we plan our return.

We loved this house! I must say we were a bit concerned that the house didn’t have AC (we live in Texas, where that is a must) but it was no issue at all! The house was always cool and comfortable, and there was always a breeze blowing.
We had a great time staying at this beautifully appointed mid-century modern home. It had everything we could want and the sunsets over the golf course were amazing!! Many great memories were made on this vacation. Thanks for sharing your home with us!!
This home was perfect for our family of 5. The views and sunsets were amazing, the neighborhood is safe, and we walked to the beach most evenings for snorkeling on the reef. The beach supplies provided were great to take to the beach and the host was prepared for all weather. The kitchen was well equipped, we don't eat out often and made most meals in the house. I know there have been some comments about the rules, but once you arrive and see the neighborhood you will see why. Queens Bath was just at the end of the street, and Hanalei is a quick drive so location was ideal. We got coffee and shave ice at Wishing Well in Hanalei and doughnuts several mornings. The communication with the hosts was great and they even let us know of some road closures in the area during our stay to help with driving. I highly recommend booking this house for your stay.
