Place as advertised. Pretty clean and located steps away from the beach. Owner provided a pack n play at our request. Minutes away from plenty of restaurants. We did have to have maintenance come twice during our stay. Once when someone smashed the front door multiple times breaking one of the slats and another time the bathroom smelled like sewage, which couldn't be resolved during our stay

When checking in we did have to wait a bit after 3 since the cleaner was still working in there but we got to chatting with her and she recommended some good places to visit. Both showers were clogged up but we communicated that w the owners and they got it fixed right away. There was a damp type of smell in the bedroom not sure what it could’ve been but wasn’t a big issue for us. We did have an issue w the washer not sure if it needs a deep clean but it did stain some clothes, so just be aware of that. Other than that we enjoyed our stay there, they had appliances, cookware, beach chairs that we most certainly used. Absolute great location, grocery stores close by and some pretty good food spots as well.
I would stay here again. I loved the location and the beach accessories that were accessible to us.
Loved the place which was practical with the fold out beds. The resort amenities were nice to have and the equipment made available by the host like beach chairs and toys were a nice bonus. This place is a bit further back from the ocean but on the ground floor so easy access frok Lanai.
We liked that the property was on the first floor and we could park right outside. That made it easy to carry all of our stuff in. We also like the mat there were two separate beds for the kids to sleep in. They prefer their own space. There were plenty of supplies for the 9 days we were there. The pool was also nice and big. You never felt like there were too many people there. The only negatives I can give is that there was a weird smell coming from the second bathroom. We could not use it because of that and kept the door closed. Also, the carpet should definitely be replaced. Overall a decent stay. Owners were very quick to respond to the issues we were having with the smell (even though they were unable to get rid of it). If you are looking for a place to stay that doesn’t feel like a resort and isn’t super busy, this complex is perfect. We also had friends and family staying in other units, and they were pleased.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. So close to the beach! Perfect spot to watch sunrise and sunset. Loved the pool and hot tub area. The room was very clean and was equipped with everything we needed and then some. This was our second stay at Maui Sunsets but just in a different room. Will definitely be booking there again!
This is a well appointed suite that while it's a bit older, the amenities provided and overall setting are phenomenal. We also really appreciated the host's quick communication and help when we had a few questions.
The Maui Sunset is in a good location and the property grounds are beautiful and well maintained.
This particular condo though is dated, even though the VRBO listing states it was "tastefully updated (April 2022)." The kitchen seemed to have newer appliances but I couldn't see where any other updates were made. The kitchen is not very well stocked; for example, lack of proper silverware and glassware, i.e. juice and wine glasses.
The entire place needs a serious deep cleaning and/or update, in particular the bathrooms, and a good shampooing (or replacement) of the carpeting.
The unit lacks comfortable furniture to relax in after a day out and about. The queen sleeper sofa is the only piece of furniture in the living room and it is quite uncomfortable. There is a comfortable outdoor dining table but if the Kihei winds are howling, as they were when we stayed, using this table is not an option.
The king bed was comfortable, as were the pillows.
We didn't need to use the air conditioning so I can't say how that worked, but we did use the ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom for cooling/air flow.
The property manager was wonderful and very quick to respond to any concerns we had.

We had an amazing time. The grounds were beautiful and location could not be beat. We loved having the Murphy bed as well as the sofa bed
Loved being able to walk right to the beach without crossing the road. The ground level was perfect for the kids to go out and play
We stayed in this same complex last year, but a different unit. This unit was just as nice and accommodated our family of 4, husband/wife, and two kids, 13 and 11 year olds. Even with only one actual bedroom it worked great, as the living room had both the twin Murphy bed and the queen pull out. We were a little disappointed there was no tv in the master, but that wouldn’t be an issue for everyone, certainly there are better things to do in Maui! We loved the great supply of beach chairs/toys and that there was plenty of spices and towels. Thank you for another wonderful stay at Maui Sunset.
A bit outdated and not very well cleaned as dust on top of refrigerator was quite thick. Some Lightbulbs out although property management was quick to fix. Accused of soiling furniture and threatened with additional charges, before they realized they mistakenly had photos of a room we didn’t use.
