At Sunset Central YOU ARE SO CLOSE YOU CAN FEEL THE OCEAN! As soon as you walk into SUNSET CENTRAL you take a deep breath and start to smile. You are seeing the incredible ocean view and hearing the waves. SUNSET CENTRAL IS as nice as you hoped for. Why?
The old Cliché, "VIEW, VIEW, VIEW". We have of one of the BEST OCEAN VIEWS in Maui. You don't think about it but "NOT" having a pool or upper floor lanai railing, or anything in your ocean view, makes it as good as it gets. The view from inside the condo is great and the view from our lanai is even better. We have the perfect combination for a ROMANTIC stay. A quiet and quaint location, off the main road, stunning views, and soothing Pacific Ocean surround sound.
There is NO EQUAL to being GROUND FLOOR directly on the ocean. No walking around your building(s), or down stairs and through hallways, or across streets to get to the ocean. Carry your chair 25 feet to the ocean edge and watch a 180 degree sunset at the sea wall. Does the drink you brought with you need a refill or you forgot your camera? No problem. A few steps back and you have it. Don't want to move 25 feet to the ocean edge? Just watch a sunset, sunrise, or the ocean from the very large lanai. The lanai has a ceiling fan for added comfort during the hotter months.
We have steps with access to our semi private beach for swimming and snorkeling. Access to the ocean is easy most of the time. Some of our photos show a large beach. During 2024 the tide changes resulted in the loss of the large beach most of the time. The last three photos show the more common size of the beach at low tide.
SUNSET CENTRAL faces directly West providing WONDERFUL SUNSET shows. During the year the sunsets move back and forth from the island of Lanai and Molokai.

DECOR: Our goal was to make the family/dining room feel as large as possible even though it is larger than usual for Maui. Our tv/stereo and our dining table set are on one wall. The sofa sleeper and recliner are set up on the other wall. The result is a large open area in the middle of the room. We think we accomplished our goal. We also added mirrors on one wall. These make the room feel larger as well as providing an ocean view from almost any direction you are facing.
SERVICE: We only have one condo to manage so we give 100% of our attention to you and no amount of attention is too much. Even though we can easily accommodate 4 people in our condo we only allow a max. of 2. This is to minimize the wear and tear. This also helps us to make sure our condo is in good shape when you arrive. We have a large separate bedroom with a CA king size bed. A separate bedroom is nice compared to a studio that has that hotel type feeling. We do have a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.
IMPROVEMENTS: New carpet 01/23. Recently painted the walls and ceiling. Bathroom remodel completed changing from tub to walk in shower etc. New Smart TV in Family Room. Bose Play Bar added to TV for better sound and playing your music if you want from your blue tooth phone or I pads etc. New CA King bed mattress 01/22. New TV in the bedroom. We upgraded the FAN on our LANAI. This adds hours per day and night that are comfortable on the lanai. We also vented our washer/dryer unit to outside. Major feature! Less heating inside your condo. When you have a washer and dryer you are not spending part of your vacation watching your clothes in a community facility. We have a portable A/C in the bedroom. 00 for the days/nights used. Renters should let us know if the A/C was used and how many days after their stay.
POOL: Our pool is not oceanfront. See our photo. The pool would not be the main reason for renting our condo.

It was perfect for a few night stay. You are feet away from the ocean. The home had everything that we need to cook meals, comfy beds and beautiful views.

The place is amazing. The views and location alone are great. I was able to see a lot of whale activity off the lanai. Even saw 2 full body breaches on my last morning there. The sunsets are absolutely amazing. The condo is great. They provide lots of extras that were super great to have; boogey boards, beach chairs, a cooler, beach towels. I highly recommend staying here. The condo complex is nice and quiet and everyone is very friendly & helpful.

Excellent location on Maui's west side between Kaanapali and Napili areas. Enjoyed the unexpected inclusions: a pair of beach towels, beach chairs and boogie boards! tons of beaches Loved the patio area for hanging out and watching for spouting whales..Small beach area at the end of the building and many other beaches all around in west Maui. Book it!

We loved our stay. The location was beautiful and right on the ocean. We saw turtles daily! Very close to numerous beaches and great food (especially papi’s cinnamon rolls). ByuchThose were delicious and highly recommend.

Living in Nevada, we don’t get to hear waves breaking upon a shore line so we just loved sitting on the lanai and reading our books while listening to the waves breaking! And, from the lanai you could see turtles pop their heads up for air! Pretty awesome! The unit was also nicely furnished and corresponding with the owners was easy.

We had a most enjoyable stay in Maui at Sunset Central where the sunrises and sunsets were unique each day. We saw many rainbows and turtles, loved sitting and eating dinner on the lanai, and just enjoying the beauty and relaxation.

It took 25 yrs., but we're back. We had our honeymoon on Maui and couldn't wait to get back now celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The condo was in a perfect location. Close to shopping, dining and beaches. The views are spectacular. Everything was provided for the beach and cooking. Neighbors were friendly and helpful. Thank you for letting us share your piece of paradise. We're already planning a trip for next year.

Amazing sunsets every night and access to snorkeling with turtles from the condo. It had everything we needed, grilled fresh fish every night.
Not an huge issue, but kitchen gets hot while cooking and doesn't cool down quickly.

This is definitely an amazing spot to stay for that waterfront and the sound of the waves. We spent every morning and evening we were there out on the lanai listening to the waves crashing. We were there between two tropical storms so it was too cloudy for those sunsets, but still gorgeous. It was nice and close to lots of different spots to eat/visit and we like staying up that far north because we can avoid having to drive up and down the two lane freeway our whole trip. The Plantation House and Hula's Grill were two places we really enjoyed.

We had a very pleasant stay at Sunset Central. Ray was always communicative. He found out there would be construction next door and offered a full refund or 50% off. The view of the ocean is to die for and the turtles swimming around you if you go on the little beach are so fun to watch. You have to be on the little beach on earlier side or the waves get big and difficult to get onto it. Everything is provided from towels to beach chairs and umbrella. But you have to do a load of laundry before you leave, so if you are not into that this is not your place. The w/d is a small unit so it makes sense to help out the cleaners. Location is great with short walk to get coffee, etc. Food trucks so close and yummy! You can bring back food and watch sunset for dinner. No need to go out to eat. There is only AC in bedroom and you pay extra for it. I was here in Aug and was hot in the living area. The fire was close but at condo you would have no idea that the fires happened. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!! I miss it already.
