This is the fourth time to Maui and our third time on the Kihei Alii Kai condo complex because it’s our favourite place to stay in Maui! The condo is in a location, walking distance to many South Kihei shops and restaurants, and Kameole I, II and III beaches. The condo itself was clean, was well-stocked, and the views from the Lanai are hard to beat! We were travelling with kids and did find that the condo didn’t have much in the way of beach gear (especially for kids) but there are two rental shops within walking distance and it wasn’t enough to detract from our vacation experience!
The host, AA Oceanfront Rentals were very helpful, responsive and friendly! We would definitely stay at this condo again.
This condo worked out great for our family. Bit of a walk from the parking lot, but we adjusted and felt that it was not bad at all. When we arrived, the unit was very hot, but the air conditioner does work. And it does cool the entire unit eventually. The property had everything we needed, and the space was great. Fabulous view. The location in Kihei was also fantastic, we could walk to about everything we needed. Excellent starting point to explore all of Maui.
Well located, easy walking, close to beaches and parks. the only downside was I was expecting 2 bathrooms but we managed with what we had. Hope we get the opportunity to stay again!
We vacation rent properties ourself so keep that in mind when reading our review.
This was our second time staying at this property, the first being about 10 years ago. This experience was great and would stay here again, however there were some things that could improve. There were a lack of basic necessities; food storage containers, zip lock bags, basic condiments, and laundry detergent to name a few. Other than that the property was in need of a deep clean.
Another thing we recommend is that the owners put some money into the unit because not much has changed in 10 years and the carpet is really worn out.
Overall still a positive experience. Property management company was great!
Over all great. There was dust on all fans so whenever we turned on it took a sec to settle
Comfortable unit with nice ocean view. A bit on the shabby side. Dirty carpet, ants, lint trap on dryer overflowing, a vase that had broken into several pieces and then glued back together. I ended up buying an umbrella and leaving it in the unit. Beach towels were thin. Also bought my own to take home. Nice air conditioning and upstairs loft. We enjoyed the lanai. Pool is very nice. Love nearby Dolphin plaza, ABC store and Kamaole Beach 1. The management company was very responsive to our concerns.
This property was a great place to start our Hawaii Vacation! It was comfortable and homey, and the layout made it feel spacious. It is located close to everything you need--a quick walk to the beach, amazing fish and chips, coffee, and cinnamon rolls within 10 minutes walk. We had a fabulous time. The space is a little bit dated, and still comfortable. All of the kitchen needs were there and functional, and the laundry in the space worked great. We would definitely stay here again.
The balcony view is outstanding! From there one can see across to Molokini atoll, and Kaho’olawe. We spotted whales often, better with binoculars. The green space below the balcony had numerous birds, including northern cardinal, red crested cardinal, chickens, ring necked doves, grey Francolin, and many others.
Finding the condo at night was challenging due to the unusual building structure.
We would stay here again.
