We did not stay as planned. My wife had an emergency appendectomy on Friday afternoon and we did not make it to Kona. The owner had contacted me earlier with instructions and i replied to him that we had to cancel due to the medical emergency. I am waiting to see if i will get a refund from the owner as the cancellation was not in accordance to the cancellation guidelines.
Beautiful and well-maintained in a very quiet neighborhood. I definitely will book again in the future.
Excellent property, great communication
Great communication with Host. Very thorough with instructions and we appreciated the beach items: towels, chairs, small ice chest, noodles etc. Also, a very nice stocked kitchen: pot, pans, etc. Overall a very nice place to relax.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kona. The condo was clean and well stocked. We stopped at Costco and cooked in most nights. KTA is right up the street for other groceries. We walked to the Outrigger right next door to see the manta rays at night. Great location and great condo. Ashok was good about communication with us. Would definitely recommend.
We arrived after midnight and did not have to check-in. Our host made sure that security knew we would be arriving late. At 1:00am it is nice not to have to wonder where the office is. The accommodation was spotless, highly maintained, and comfortable. The resort is about 30 minutes south of Kona so it feels like a home, not a tourist place. The host responds within minutes. We had a 10pm flight out so we asked if we could check-out late if there wasn't anybody else booked for that day. We were lucky. Nobody else was booked for that day. Out host allowed it. There is a small beach with good snorkeling only 6-7 minute walk away. The ocean had 3-4 foot swells and strong currents and not safe for swimming at any of the beaches, except Kahalu'u Bay Beach. It is a protected harbor, safe for snorkeling. There are several manta ray and snorkeling tours working out of that harbor which is very convenient. No car needed to get there. There is also a sandy beach about a 10 minute drive north called Magic Sands/ White Sands beach. The grounds are immaculate and gorgeous. There is a hotel a few minutes walk away where you can watch the manta rays at night from a viewing balcony. Bring binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens. There is a shopping mall about a 5 minute drive away with a grocery store, restaurants, pet grooming, and more. Our host is fantastic, the resort is amazing, and the unit was great.
Property manager was nice and responded to issues quickly. The location of the property is great. We have stayed in similar units before which is why we picked this one. People have been great leaving items for others to use and even food in the fridge. This is where I have issues. First, is the owner has a Ring doorbell which he monitors and if you forget to turn up the air conditioner, he is quick to remind you. He also can control the air conditioner remotely, which he had done once when we were there. I think someone watching when we come and go is an invasion of privacy and also against Vrbo rules. I understand that electricity in expensive in Hawaii but when you rent a place, even if he tells you in advance to adjust the temp, you should be able to keep the A/C at whatever temp you want all the time. Next was the cleanliness of the place. My wife spent 1/2 day cleaning the kitchen. The oven was dirty so we had to run the clean cycle and then wipe it out. The dish rack was filthy and my wife cleaned it twice to get most of the stains out. The sinks was marked up and beyond getting cleaned. The space between the stove and the counter had a rubber spacer that was filthy underneath. We had two pest problems in the unit which the manager addressed promptly. Dead cockroach and filth behind the refrig. Broken Blinds never replaced after owner he was told 2 years ago. Pictures on the Vrbo website are old ones so not an accurate depiction. It's a nice spacious condo, located on lovely grounds with several pools and tennis courts onsite. It's a short walk (5 minute or less) to Keauhou Bay where there is a lovely view of the sunset and easy access to snorkeling tours, including the amazing Manta Ray Night Snorkel, offered by several companies. It was really nice to be able to walk to the night snorkel. The condo is located near many good snorkeling sites such as Kahaalu Bay and Two Step and local artisan markets (Captain Cook, the Outrigger Hotel - just next to the condo). Its a little farther from the big sandy beaches which tend to be north of Kona, though Magic Sands Beach is a nearby alternative. The condo itself does not offer a sunset view but we discovered lovely views just down the street. All in all it was a lovely stay. The grounds are quiet and had lovely flowers all around. The pools are simple but with the numerous pools around the grounds, we almost always had a pool to ourselves or with only a couple other people. The condo is also well stocked with gear such as beach chairs, a beach umbrella and such which was great to have. There's also snorkel gear, but we had brought our own. The host was very accommodating to our schedule with a late check out which was much appreciated. There's a grocery store and drugstore nearby. All in all it was a lovely stay! Thank you!
We really rnjoyed this property. Thenowners were very quick to answer any questions we had. The location was great for all our activities.
This is a great rental for a family of four. We liked the idea of the bedrooms being downstairs and the great room with lanai and kitchen upstairs. The two king-sized beds made it very comfortable. They had a lot of beach equipment; the only thing the owners didn't have were large boogie boards. Otherwise, it's a great stay for a Big Island vacation.
Wonderful decor. Comfortable beds. Helpful owner to deal with if there are problems. Good selection of beach chairs and equipment. One complaint? The blackout window slats need replacement. Missing and broken slats on many windows. Pull strings close to breaking. Cannot shield from the heat of the sun. Privacy problem.
The owners were wonderful with communication as needed. Beautiful area, quiet and peaceful. Loved having coffee every morning on the lanai!.
Great property for our family stay.
Very nice and clean grounds. Our pod hot tub was not working our first few days here. Main water line was shut down for one afternoon due to a leak. Overall a very nice complex area.
We really enjoyed our stay! The home was in a great complex that was very convenient. We would definitely stay again!
Our stay was great. The beds & pillows were super comfortable. We didn’t cook much, but there were dishes& silverware. The location is super convenient to the water, to Kailua-Kona and an easy drive to the Volcano Park. There are several restaurants nearby and grocery store. I would recommend this rental for your family.

We had a wonderful time
This was the perfect choice for my family of 4 on our recent Big island trip. One of the things we prioritized was a location that was close to a beach for swimming (not rocky, not too many waves etc) and Keauhou Bay was the main reason we chose it but ended up loving it for lots of other reasons. Aside from being a less than 10 min walk to the Bay (so convenient when we also went on a manta ray snorkeling tour at night!), the facilities were gorgeous and well maintained and we felt really safe walking around at night. Very clean and I especially love the reverse set up with downstairs bedroom and upstairs kitchen and living room (with a huge TV) that served as. a great central hub. Amenities were provided such as basic cooking items and beach equipment that we took advantage of as well. Minor ant problem and we did spot a cockroach in the bathroom but nothing uncontrolled and to be expected in the tropical climate. Would highly recommend for families and consider staying again in the future!
This was a beautiful property that we well enjoyed. I would say that our only complaints were that there were no dish cloths or wash cloths. We were not able to access the pool/ hot tub but that wasn’t the owner’s fault. The owner was very responsive and helpful with any issue.
Great location and great amenities and room.
We had a great time at Ashoks place. Conveniently located for our needs. Mauna Loa Village Complex was well taken care of. Clean linens and towels in unit plus beach items to use. Everything we needed for a great family trip to Kona.

Great place for a “base of operations” for touring the island. Very spacious. Barbecues, hot tub, covered parking nearby. The hosts are awesome too.
Great unit. Close to the pool and parking. Unit was clean and comfortable. Note that bedrooms are downstairs and living area is upstairs. Although it was great, probably not ideal for older travelers and small kids.
We rented the property for 6 days. Inwas littke skeptical about it in the beginning, not knowing the area, property, location..etc. like anyone who is going for a week.
But it turns out to be the best decision.
Family loved the place. Ashok, the owner was very helpful. He was always available when ever we had a question.
Place was very nice, clean, it has all the amenities which anyone need when living in a house.
I don’t remember buying anything for a kitchen, laundry or bathroom. Ofcourse other then food 🙂.
If we go again to a Big Island and plan to stsy in Kona side then definitely we will consider to stay here if available.
The location was nice. Not far from several snorkeling beaches. They had all the amenities we needed. All in all a wonderful vacation.
Comfortable and convenient.
There were a few issues at the beginning that the owner took care of. We were out most days and it was where we slept and cooked our meals. We enjoyed the pool jacuzzi and bbqs. The location was very nice.
