Beautiful view, comfortable deck to sit and dial in the viewKitchen stocked with all amenities
The view of the beach, valley, and ocean were amazing. It was too bad the road to the beach and valley were closed. Only residents could drive down to the beach.
Absolutely, beautiful views, being in the rainforest little damper than expected. Lots of fruit flies
I have traveled around some of the world. This home by far has the most beautiful view of the ocean I have ever seen! The house was spotless and we all loved the kitchen. The host was a very special person. She helped us with everything, directions to scenic sites, chairs and coolers for the beach. Just a great lady! If we go back to this area, will definitely rent the house again.
Our host was welcoming, and the view was exceptional with a laid back atmosphere.
This house is in a pretty awesome location. The views make up for anything that isn’t top of the line. The kitchen appliances were really nice and the beds/sheets were really clean and comfortable. The downsides are there is only a/c in the living room - none of the bedrooms have it. The weather was nice enough that we were fine but if it was a little warmer, sleeping wouldn’t have been as comfy. It’s a very damp area of the island so leaving the doors and windows open all the time makes the house feel kind of damp. Like I mentioned, the view, beds and kitchen amenities made up for anything that caught us off guard. I would still stay here again, I would just be expecting that this time.
Had such a comfortable, relaxing, amazing time! Thank you so much for your sweet hospitality. Hope to visit again sooner than later!!
Great location. We wanted seclusion and it did not disappoint. I see some reviews complaining about the road to the house but that is what I loved. The connecting road is a little steep and bumpy but to get away from the crowds or tourists' areas, I can put up with a little rough road. We rented a Jeep because we planned on going to hard-to-reach beaches, etc., and did not have any problems. I do have to mention that the description of the property is not correct on the Vrbo page. The very first words in the listing says, "Entire house", which is not entirely true. There are other people that live in the house on the first level. However, the care takers that live there are very nice people and helpful. They were helpful in getting us in the house because the door lock code that was sent to us was wrong/old. In addition, the book of instructions inside the house also has an expired code. These are all minor things that did not cramp our style at all. Thanks
Wow! Just wow! This property is amazing! The pictures do not begin to show the beauty of the view from this house! The grounds are meticulously kept! The fruit trees and plants, we had planned on going back to the botanical gardens outside of Hilo but there was no need, everything was growing right there! Is the House a little dated yes and I was a little uncomfortable with no coverings on the windows but there truly is no one else around. The house was super clean and the AC kept it cool which is what my biggest issue in booking was! The Host Cemille and Derrick are absolutely amazing! Fresh fruit every time we saw them! So nice and helpful! We hope to be back very soon!
This home has a stunning view. All four of us walked in then stopped in our tracks and just stared when we saw it. During our visit to the big island we also stayed in Captain Cook and Volcano and this location had the most “Hawaiian” feel of the three due to the lush, green surroundings along with the ocean view. Cemile and Derrick are the hosts and are helpful and responsive. Checkout was a breeze. The instructions were simply “enjoy your morning and leave by 11:00.” This home overlooks the Waipio valley and I highly recommend taking a tour of the valley.
This property had the best view on the whole island! It was almost too good to be true. This is your sign to stop searching, and just book this place! You do need a jeep or truck with big tires to get to the property and you have to drive very slow for the last few minutes of the journey, but it’s totally worth it. All of the plants and flowers and fruit trees were so beautiful! The rooms are a little outdated, but still very accommodating. Everything that we needed was there. Camile and her husband live downstairs and also manage the property so are there if you need anything. They are wonderful people. We truly enjoyed talking with them everyday and appreciate the fresh fruit that she brought us. Hope we get the opportunity to return one day!
Beautiful view of Waipio Valley, very comfortable house. Kitchen has every appliance you can wish for. The caretakers are really caring and made our stay really pleasant and they are very responsive.Mahalo for making our magic stay even more blissful.
Lovely spot with epic view of Waipio valley. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the property managers are friendly and helpful. The listing says the beach is just a 10 minute drive away … and it’s true. But you’ll need 4WD and nerves of steal. It’s certainly worth it when you get to the beach.
Great house and probably the most amazing views in all the Hawaiian islands. Cemille was a great host and highly recommend this property. Cannot wait to go back again!
This was a lovely vacation house that fit my family of five well. This place has the best view of any place I’ve ever stayed.
This is an amazing home, with breathtaking views. The house is as advertised and more! Cemille and Derrick are amazing hosts who are available for whatever you need and truly fantastic people who love the beauty of this area. If you are looking for a place to stay that is quiet, secluded and an authentic Hawaii experience this is your place! The house itself is great for a good size family, we had 7 people and it was plenty of room. The outside shower was by far my favorite, an absolutely amazing way to start your day! Just a magical place. If you want a resort experience this is not the place for you, but if you want raw beauty and amazing accommodations this is the perfect place!
The property is amazing. A little difficult to get to, but amazingly quiet and the view is astounding.
The view from almost every room is exceptional.
My husband and I stayed here years ago for our anniversary and loved it so much, we came back! We brought our family and some friends and their kids. It was a great set up for all of us. And lovely location! Breathtaking views of the valley and the ability to easily get to the quaint town of Honoka’a. We specifically chose this location so we could have a central spot to come back to after exploring parts of the northern area of the island. Highly recommend!
This house was absolutely beautiful and in an amazing location. The host was very sweet. Would 100% stay again!
Beautiful views and home is appointed as described. There was severe weather resulting in our early departure due to a loss of electrical and plumbing. We were graciously reimbursed for the day we could not stay there. The 3k security deposit was required very early and held for the maximum 14 days after checkout, which I found annoying. The resident host is just lovely and did all she could to accommodate Mother Nature's wrath.
The waipi'o area is amazing. You must do the Shuttle tour. This house has a deck you never want to leave. Cemile is so helpful, kind, and interesting (even though you almost never see her or hear her.) This for sure is a return place for us some day.
Unique setting overlooking the Waipio Valley. Stunning views in an immaculate well-appointed home with all you need to enjoy the serenity. Easy communication with owner and property manager made our stay a 5 star stop on our vacation. We’ll be back!
A gorgeous and comfortable house overlooking the Waipio Valley. We loved waking up tot ye magnificent view and exploring Honoka’a, the Botanical Garden, Waimea and the beaches on the west side.
Fantastic home. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The view was absolutely stunning. Cemile was so kind and available for anything we needed. Would absolutely return and stay longer.
From the moment we were contacted by our host Cemille to be sure we were good on directions to the house, to the moment we said good-bye, everything was perfect. The slightly remote location is truly magical. Clean, comfortable, great kitchen with all you could need and more…and a grill! That worked! So often not the case. Meeting our host Cemille and learning a bit about her was a bonus. Such a joy to know her.But she is mindful and respectful of guest’s privacy. I only hope I spelled her name right! That view is one I will never forget. And the outdoor shower is something you just have to experience. It was truly hard to leave this special home. If you are wanting an off the beaten path, quiet and peaceful retreat, you should stay here. We loved everything about it. A short drive to Honokaa town that has lots to offer and all the aloha. And if you need a few more amenities Waimea is not far. Again, all you’d need and all the aloha. We continued our vacation on other parts of the island after leaving this house, and we both agree we should have just stayed there. We left a little piece of our hearts there and truly would like to come back some day. And it’s a perfect location for exploring the beauty of the Hamakua Coast. Thanks so much for this memorable stay.
Lovely place, amazing view. Property manager couldn’t have been nicer. We spent our days exploring the island, resting, and enjoying the lovely lanai. Perfect.
Absolutely stunning views, house was immaculate, and the onsite property mangers were wonderful, friendly people. Definitely 10/10 would stay again. One tip though-best to have an SUV to get up the hill to the house, the road is pretty challenging
Beautiful and open layout. Highly recommended.
For being local & was able to have stayed at this beautiful place was AMAZING! The view is breathtaking. Daniel was such a cool person & we didn’t even notice he was there😊 My family will be back for sure next time.
Great stay. Everything we needed for a family of 6 was there, including water boards and coolers for the beach. Derrick was very helpful. The views of the valley and the ocean were unbelievable. Ice maker did not work, but we bought ice to get us through. I feel the directions to get to the house could be clearer.
The two words that describe this property best are Beautiful and Relaxing. The view is spectacular and is as described and shown, but even better in person. There is lots of indoor and outdoor space with comfortable furnishings. The outdoor shower is amazing, wish I could have brought it home with me. Definitely would stay here again.
Absolutely stunning views, Lots of amazing flowering plants all over the property. Derek was also really helpful answering questions and explaining things which was really appreciated.
This is what Hawaii used to be. It is dirt roads, jungle, beaches, local culture, food and small Hawaiian towns. I can't say enough about the property managers Derrick and Cemile who are two of the kindest, down to earth people I have had the pleasure of spending time with. If you are looking more for a resort vibe: pools, beach, room service etc then I would not recommend but if you are looking to get a bit off the grid and away from the madness of modern life this is truly a unique and special place.
The place and experience were fantastic. I can't emphasize enough the beauty and serenity of the place. Just amazing.
We had a great time staying here. Beautiful view, well stocked place with very nice hosts. The road heading up to the place is super narrow, pretty steep, and feels like you’re off-roading. We thought it was pretty fun and added to the experience :)
What a beautiful location--peaceful, astounding views, comfortable and well-stocked house. The property managers were delightful and incredibly helpful. We found everything we needed in the kitchen, which is not always true for a rental! The outdoor shower was divine. It was really helpful to have the beach equipment available as well. The one thing I would request is an update to the living room furniture (run down and not as comfortable as it could be) and a better mattress in the primary suite (very soft, which some people might like). These things would make this a perfect review. We will definitely return! Many many thanks to Derrick and Cemile.
Impossible to describe the views and the surroundings at this unique home. Plenty of room, full kitchen, amazing outdoor shower, beautiful well appointed home. And - you sleep in a rainforest with this unbelievable view and sounds and stars at night that are just unmatched -- and still an hour from Big Island beaches. Honokaa is a great little town 15 min away. Property managers are fantastic. Once in a lifetime kind of stay.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We wanted something off the grid with ocean views and this completely filled the bill. We were able to enjoy the shops and nearby businesses yet have time away for just family time.
