Breathtaking Hawaiian Monarch Penthouse | Views!

I wanted to love the stay, but too many things to notate & report. Too expensive for advertised PH status & all attached fees (i.e cleaning & management fees)The value of rental does not match cost. cleanliness is a huge concern-old dingy bathrooms, need serious update on whole premises, the windows (all rooms) especially sleeping areas need replacing asap, the wind was loud it affected restful nights & during the day (loud banshee sounds & I’m not a light sleeper, its already all taped up and just Mickey moused fix. it’s all taped up over & over again, old tape & needs to be addressed not only for noise disturbance but for safety measures. I called for help, even requested maintenance to put more masking tape at least but was refused/denied help, a masking tape arrived after our 3rd day. Master room mattress was hard as a rock and stained, kitchen area some electric plugs did not work so had to bunch appliances to connect. The freezer door broken, hard to open to get into.the amenities reported non existent, broken shampoo dispenser, & not filled, no accessible cleaning supplies that are needed, towels dingy, rough, thin & old, washed & over used not enough for 8. The washing machine is front facing so u can tell it is dirty and moldy in the rubber lining. The sofa in the living room against window has broken seat, no padding and can’t sit on it comfortably & hurts to Sleep on. stated but not enough blankets or towels for 8.Dining table missing chair so couldn’t sit family

Location.

Very dirty property, when I booked it they hid all the negative comments and only left the good ones. We came got our card walked in the penthouse and had to leave to Walmart to get cleaning supplies and bed sheets which cost us additional $300 out of pocket. The property is old and dirty had pictures that were edited unlike in real life. COCKROACHES were in the kitchen! The dishwasher was stinky with all the dishes left locked in there for who knows how long. The WASHER was full of someone else’s clothes! We opened it to use it and it stunk so bad we had to close it back up. Long story short we were not happy with the maintenance and how the service was. I couldn’t reach the owner even once. Don’t know about the other units but ours was like that.

I have always loved staying in this building. So conveniently located and hosts breathtaking views of the city, ocean and diamond head. Perfect getaway just far enough away from the craziness of the Waikiki strip of hotels.

Great place clean my favorite is a food park right down stairs and walking distance to everything

Perfect for an extended stay this apartment has everything you need. Great for families who don’t want to all be in one room together. Building facilities are good and 711 next door.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Communication was very poor. I sent several messages with no response. Looks like there was some construction going on in the unit I was not told about. Also bedroom had missing shade so unable to sleep in. Location was great.

the pictures were not completely accurate, didnt show the bathrooms which were old and dingy. The kitchen stove was grimey with broken glass, we saw and had to clean up. the entire place looks like it needed a wipe down with clorox wipes, we had to do that. An alarm was pulled that woke us up at 11:30pm during our stay...it was determined to be a prank. There were two kids swimming in the pool late at night without adult supervision, one couldnt swim....they also got into both hot tub with their street clothes on. the place was disappointing because it didnt live up to the pictures.

Poor communication

The property location is excellent. Close to shopping and dining. The property itself needs work. There were no face or hand towels available and we had to buy our own at the store. There was a water leakage on the floor of one of the bedrooms. When we contacted maintenance they were unable to help out, and neither were the lobby staff. The condo was spacious but could use some updating. We weren’t given the key code on the day of our check-in… We had to reach out for this information. We weren’t contacted about check out procedures either. Overall, the property was able to accommodate our party of 7 (though the sofa couches need updating) but probably wouldn’t come back. Mahalo for allowing us to stay.
