Property Overview
One of the best ocean view apartments in Waikiki, ideally located and the best equipped, with everything you will need to have a wonderful vacation.
It has been beautifully remodeled and decorated, with many wonderful island-style furnishings, antiques, art objects and paintings.
Guests love this condo.
The View
Most Waikiki hotel rooms and condos have side ocean views: you need to go out to the lanai to really get the full effect. This condo has fabulous ocean views from moment you enter the front door and from every room! (Please see the photos)
This is a rare unit where you can sit on the living room couch, watch TV and also watch the surfers at the famous Ala Moana surfing spots and boats going by.
In the bedroom, whether sitting up in bed, lounging in the bedroom window seat, or writing a letter at the lagoon-view desk, the view is magnificent.
To the left, you can watch the beach goers, kayakers, and stand up paddle boarders at the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. To the right, is Ala Moana Beach Park. Looking up the coast, you can see all 4 Honolulu marinas and harbors, with sail boats and ships going to and fro, and enjoy fantastic sunsets.
And be sure to catch the torch lighting ceremony every evening at sunset along the Ilikai walkway to the beach and the fireworks over the lagoon, every Friday at 7:45 p.m. after the sailboat races. You can see them right from your lanai.
The Condo
This is a spacious, 679 sq. ft., 1 bedroom condo, complete with a full kitchen.
If you value a high floor location, with almost 180 degree ocean view, artistic island decor and lots of kitchen and beach equipment, you will agree that this is the best condo in the Ilikai Marina Building and one of the best in Waikiki.
Living Room
has a comfy leather couch, which makes into a queen-sized bed, and 2 additional chairs with ottomans. There is also an artistic chest and coffee table.
There is a big-screen, smart TV, with cable and internet, and a DVD player.
The Kitchen
is fully equipped with full size appliances: side by side fridge with filtered water & ice in the door, microwave, oven/range with flat glass cooktop, custom, deep stainless steel kitchen sink and even a dishwasher.
There are also several small appliances: blender, rice cooker, crock pot, toaster, stand mixer with dough hooks, griller, drip, French press and espresso coffee makers and a tea kettle.
There are plenty of pots, pans, bowls, tableware and silverware, including an Emerilware stainless and copper cook set, and even a picnic basket including plates, cups and utensils.
Dining Room
A lovely, hand carved teak dining set with room for 4, with everything you need to set a nice table.
Be sure to check out the shelves with numerous guide books and even a ukulele!
Bedroom
has a sliding door and can be completely closed off from the living room. This is a big advantage over a typical hotel room or studio condo. (Note: some condos in Waikiki are listed as 1 bedroom, but are actually studios with no separate sleeping area.)
The bedroom is fully furnished, including king-sized Weston Resorts Heavenly Bed, 2 night stands, a chest of drawers and 2 closets.
There are high thread count linens. We have both down pillows, and down alternatives, and a memory foam bed topper, if you would prefer it to the feather bed topper, or if you're like us, use both toppers.
There is also a unique window seat, antique, writing desk and entertainment unit with TV, radio, CD player, tape player and even a phonograph.
Bathroom
is a work of art you can enjoy from the inside. A mix of bronze, copper, stone, jade, teak, koa, bamboo and porcelain all went into making this bathroom a unique experience.
A rainforest marble slab was used to surround the custom tiled deep soaking tub.
There are 3 shower heads, rainfall, handheld and wall shower making luxurious bathing, with room for you and a friend.
Of course, there are lots of towels, basic toiletries and a hair dryer.
By the way, you can access the bathroom from a short hallway from either the living room or the bedroom. You do not need to intrude on the other sleeping area.
Other Features
A central AC system in this building, which provides very efficient, quiet cooling for this unit, without noisy fans or compressor units.

The Ilikai Marina Building
is part of the famous Ilikai complex built by the legendary Chinn Ho and featured in both the original and new Hawaii Five-0 TV series. (In fact, one of the central characters in that series is named Chinn Ho in honor of this builder.)
You can still sometimes see the Hawaii Five-0 film crew in action, out at the point by the lagoon, or at one of the Ilikai buildings.
There is 24 hour security and video cameras on all floors.
There is a self-parking garage attached to this building with 24-hour access.
This is not a resort property, so there is no pool on-site, but there are 2 great swimming lagoons right nearby.
Location
This unit is on the 13th floor of the building. The small street in front gets very little traffic anyway, but this unit is high enough to get the great view and avoid any traffic noise.
is a relatively quiet location in Waikiki, but convenient to everything; restaurants, shopping, attractions and of course beaches.
The Ilikai Marina is on the edge of Waikiki, so, compared to the congested middle of Waikiki, it is much easier to get out to downtown Honolulu and the other attractions of Oahu.
Beaches and Lagoons
The 2 choicest beaches of Honolulu are right next to you on either side. The Ilikai walkway drops you right on the lagoon at the start of the nicest part of Waikiki Beach.
The lagoon has had a recent, $13 million make-over. The water is refreshed daily and it is surrounded with beach and it has a very shallow sloping entry, making it ideal for swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking and floating.
This is the start of Waikiki Beach. From here, you can walk all the way to Diamondhead. This section, Duke Kahanamoku beach, named after the legendary Hawaiian surfer and swimming champion, has been rated as the best beach in the U.S. in one recent listing.
On the other side is the fantastic Ala Moana Beach Park. it is over 100 acres of grassy play areas, tennis courts, 3 snack bars, public restrooms, shade trees, pristine beaches and a sheltered swimming lagoon.
All that Waikiki and Oahu offers is right at your feet from this incredibly convenient location. It is easy to get where you need to go with a rental car or public transport or tour buses, which stop right nearby.
Restaurants/Bars
Located in the Ilikai Marina building are 4 good restaurants: Chart House, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and the Harbor Pub (good pizza).
The surrounding area, including the The Modern, the Ilikai Tower, Discovery Bay, the Hilton Hawaiian village and the Prince hotel, have dozens of other restaurants of all types and price ranges.
Shopping
You will be in the center of a shoppers' paradise.
Right across the street is one of the famous ABC stores, with sundries, food and beach items.
Central Waikiki is just a few moments walk to hundreds of shops; from T shirt shops to Saks 5th Avenue. In the other direction, in less than 7 minutes, you are at the Ala Moana mall, one of the biggest outdoor malls in the world, which is both beautiful and diverse.
Activities and Attractions:
There are charter fishing boats and parasailing boats at the Marina right in front of the condo. Surfing is right out front.
The nearest golf course is 2 miles away.
For travels to other attractions, be sure and check out the guide books in the condo. If you want to plan ahead, we recommend the guidebook "Oahu Revealed."
Transportation
There are airport shuttles and tour buses stop within 1 block of the entrance.
We are sure you will love this "home away from home" ocean front condo experience.

Warm & RelaxedThis was a wonderful place to stay. The amenities were well thought out, the views were amazing, and the location couldn’t have been better. It made our trip relaxing and convenient from start to finish.
I loved waking up and hanging out with such beautiful views. Bed and couch bed were comfortable. Perfect for our family to use over the holidays. Kitchen had what we needed and easy to use. Towels, beach gear all made our time in the beach easy and fun. Loved the location and the manual was very helpful. We had a great time, thank you.
Very dark and dingy, the bed was terrible and the couch was so worn out you couldn’t even sit on it. In the bathroom I couldn’t even see to shave. The smellIn the hallways was unbearable . The linei was so small could only fit a chair. Then not to help matters we had an electrical plug start smoking in the bathroom. Also construction above us every morning so loud that you couldn’t even talk in the room and also two days with no power and one without water was not impressed for the money it was so bad and I hadn’t slept much so our last two nights we stayed with friends at the other Ilikai I feel I should be refunded some.
As soon as I saw the pictures of the condo, I was sold. A separate bedroom was a must and it was wonderful. The view of the ocean, the marina, the sunsets and the rainbows were phenomenal. The condo was wonderfully well appointed; the hosts thought of everything. The hosts provided all you need to enjoy the beach and water. They were also extremely thorough in the information provided. If we return to Honolulu, we will definitely look to rent this same condo.
The view was wonderful and the unit is close by to a few restaurants. The condo had everything that one would need for dinner and beach. The decorations are gorgeous and unique making for a very cozy and inviting atmosphere. Unfortunately, during our 10 day vacation we had some hiccups with a loose main entrance door knob, a difficult to control shower for hot water, building maintenance and electrical interruptions. Two out of four issues were addressed immediately by the owner once they were made aware. The third issue was being woke up in the morning by construction work being done on all balconies in the building. The fourth was due to a construction crew which had cut into the underground electrical line that left us without power over 19 hours which was out of the owner’s control. There is some street noise as anywhere in Waikiki, but I would recommend ear plugs for light sleepers. As for the comfort of the condo some brighter light bulbs would be nice especially in the bathroom and the foam in the sofa cushions replaced since there is barely any support left for comfort. I would recommend this property because the owners were very attentive and addressed the issues immediately.
We had a wonderful 10 days at this condo. The entire unit was perfectly curated for an island getaway. The photos don't do this place justice. Everything was exceptional. From check in to check out, it was all fantastic. The location was close to the beach, the bus and trolley stops and ABC store. Working with the owners was a breeze. They responded immediately to our questions and made our stay so enjoyable. We defintely are re-booking here in the future!
Great views and location, would definitely recommend.
Great apartment in a fantastic location. We would stay there again.
We had a wonderful time! Beautiful views, location was perfect and you could not have asked for better weather! Perfect landing spot for daily activities!!
Communication with the owner was wonderful. We had a six hour tour planned on the day we were to check out, and the owner very willingly allowed us a late checkout. Place was VERY CLEAN! View from lanai was superb! I highly recommend!
We enjoyed the condo but were very disappointed that we could not open the sliding glass doors to the lanai. Crews were working on the exterior of the building and it was quite noisy and distracting. We should have been informed..
All in all, the beachview condo would have been a pretty sweet pace... but, for the entire 2 week stay, construction on the building was going on and the prized tiny Lanai was completely unavailable. Closed Due to Construction! We could not even open the door to hear the ocean or et fresh air! The workers were going up and down in front of the Lanai at all hours and the Hammer drills were obnoxious, you couldn't even hear the television! The ad stated it had a grill on the balcony that was an obvious misstatement and was the very reason we chose this condo because of our special diet. The rugs.. including the bathroom rug are absolutely filthy and grossed me out to walk on them. Netflix would not connect on the television as stated in the binder. The attention to detail in the binder of instructions was incredible except for how to properly operate the shower. We didn't use the beach toys so I can not comment on them, but for children it would be awesome. I feel like I should receive at least a partial refund for the inconvenience of the work being done on the building and the Lanai being closed. We should have been warned and given an opportunity to change our plans!
SO many items available for us to use. Amazing rental for sure!
Affordable. Overall nice condo. Good kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower though bathroom sink rather low. I will say this was the narrowest lanai we've ever encountered 20 plus stays in Hawaii! While very little sitting room did have excellent view of Friday night Waikiki fireworks!
We stayed at this Condo because of the location to the start line for the Honolulu Marathon. The location was walking distance to just about everything. We had rented a car that we only used twice. The hosts were very awesome with quick response. As for the condo, it was very nice, however, needs some updates, mostly the kitchenware, as in coffee cups were pretty stained (we ended up buying our own coffee cups), the plates and silver wear all need a upgrade. For the most part the condo was clean but definitely found some dusty areas, the kitchen was some sticky,
The pictures don’t lie, this gem IS Old Hawaii with all the modern amenities! Bed was super comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped. It was clean. Bigger than many other units. SPECTACULAR views, EXCELLENT location. AC worked well! Hosts were WONDERFUL to deal with and very kind and helpful. Our only suggestion is to update the couch (there isn't much cushion left!), but I'm sure it's on the to-do list. This is an AMAZING property, and we were so fortunate to have found it. Mahalo!!
This condo did not disappoint. My husband and I spent a week here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and it was perfect. We enjoyed having access to the stocked kitchen and the beach toys. We used the inflatable kayak to paddle to Mokoli'i Island and it was quite fun. The hosts were easy to communicate with and check in was a breeze. I already want to book it again!
Had a wonderful stay and vacation in Honolulu
Condo just as advertised. Great view and location. 2 down falls no wash cloths for shower 1 hand towel for bathroom. Haf to call for mor of the small trash bags and got a kind of rude comment from property manager about how usually enough for most guest. Locations grwat ha
We enjoyed the property. We were impressed with the room and view.
Brilliant stay in Oahu at this property. The managers were very responsive to my every query and what a view we had! Would love to come back.
My family and I enjoyed our stay…t
We had the most wonderful time in Oahu! This condo is perfection! An ideal location, a spectacular view and comfortable beds! My boys slept on the pull out sofa and my husband and I enjoyed the king size bed…this condo was close to food and shopping! We could walk to Ala Moana center which has everything. Washers and dryers on the 8th floor were super convenient too! Parking with the app was stellar since we rented a car. We are already planning our next trip!
We love staying in this condo. The attention to detail is amazing. There are so many artifacts that make is interesting and special. The condo is so close to stores, restaurants and Waikiki beach. We always enjoy staying here. Thank you! See you next year!
Loved the Condo. Very homey feeling. View is absolutely beautiful. Beach is a longer walk than it looks. Not bad for some of us but for my husband that has difficulty, it wasn’t good. Sofa bed is not comfortable at all. Even our 17 year old grandson said it made his back hurt. We bought a queen size air bed and used that instead. Left it for others to use. Would definitely stay again. GREAT communication with the people that run it. Thanks for a nice family vacation.
We stayed for a week for our 30th anniversary. The condo was homey and comfortable. The location was convenient and close to the beach. We enjoyed the use of the beach toys. I loved the cute window nook and the lanai was great for viewing the Friday night fireworks. We really enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend it.
This place has a awesome view and great firework show on Friday night.
Everything was as advertised. Robert and Carola's instructions and responses were very detailed, accurate, helpful, and professional. Great rental.
We had a great time!
Place was very nice. Exactly as described. The owner put together a book of helpful tips - READ THEM!!! We would not have seen or done half the stuff we did if we wouldn’t have read them. Fantastic vacation. I would definitely stay here again.
The view from the condo is amazing the sunsets are beautiful. The bed is very comfortable! Having the full kitchen was wonderful and well equipped.
Condo was very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. It was fun being able to watch the Friday fireworks right from the balcony.
Had a very nice stay. The bed is awesome Grate view
Great location with incredible views. Very nice condo with plenty of amenities. Free parking was a huge plus. The area was very nice…Close to the action without being chaotic. Bed was overly soft for us, but we managed. Elevators were slow because only one of two were working. The shower was wonderful. Overall a great experience on this 13th floor unit.
My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. This condo has everything one might need to create and enjoy a home away from home. The property is ideally located with quick access to the beach, park, and shopping. I highly recommend this property!
Fantastic property! Had everything we needed to make our trip unforgettable!! Definitely plan to stay here again!
