Property Overview
Aloha and welcome to our condo at the Waikiki Banyan, a premier resort located one block from Waikiki beach. Our suite is a corner unit on the 12th floor of Tower 1, facing the ocean and Diamond Head.
Since this is our own getaway too, we’ve stocked it with everything we love for a perfect beach day! You’ll find high-quality gear like Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and plenty of sand toys for the kids. Feel free to use it all—it’s one less thing you have to worry about buying or packing!
Our suite is more spacious than most at the Waikiki Banyan, resulting in a larger living area and dedicated dining area. The additional windows open up the unit to Hawaii’s cool trade winds, plus you can enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean while preparing meals! Our kitchen, bathroom and flooring have all been recently upgraded, and both beds have new mattresses.
For added convenience, we have retained the cleaning and maintenance services of Koko Resorts. This benefit provides easy access to maintenance if anything in the condo needs attention. If you need to do your own laundry, you’ll find a laundry room down the hall from our suite.
Your rental will include free secured parking within the parking garage, as well as free wifi in the suite. The Waikiki Banyan has a beautiful lobby with seating area, waterfall and koi pond. They provide a helpful activity station that can arrange for tours and excursions. For your convenience, there is a mini-mart offering a variety of supplies and goodies as well as a coffee shop, both located on the ground floor.
The 6th floor hosts an excellent recreation deck with features including a large swimming pool, 2 hot tubs, children’s playground, basketball & tennis courts, sauna room, barbecue grills, picnic areas, showers and restrooms. There is also a café that provides a large variety of meals, snacks and drinks. The comprehensive facilities make the Waikiki Banyan one of the most popular vacation destinations in Waikiki.
The east end of World-Famous Waikiki beach is a short stroll from the resort and features a breakwater that creates a protected area of calm water, which is perfect for younger ones. However, the surf spots are not far away too.
Also located within a very short walking distance are Kapiolani Park, the Waikiki Aquarium, International Marketplace, Ala Wai golf course (the most popular municipal golf course in Hawaii), Honolulu Zoo, and the “Rodeo Drive” of Waikiki, Kalakaua Avenue. Car rentals, St. Augustine’s Church, supermarket, a multitude of restaurants, and shops are also easily accessible. For your added convenience, a bus stop is located in front of the resort which can take you locally or around the entire island of Oahu! All major attractions (Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, etc) can be accessed inexpensively by bus.
**Note that the recreation deck which includes the BBQ's, Kids Play Area, Tennis courts, Pool, and Jacuzzi is closed as part of a large renovation project. We have lowered our rate to compensate for this and will help you find alternate pool arrangements close to the Banyan. The re-opening is currently scheduled for May 18, 2026.

Our visit was for my daughter's graduation at UH at Manoa and our overall rating of this property is 3.5 stars. The condo is spacious & fully equipped with kitchen utensils to cook a meal. We enjoyed the easy check in process, location with easy walk to beach, stores, & dining. The parking garage pass and beach chairs were a plus. Appreciated property manager prompt communication with challenges.There is a very small view of the ocean from kitchen window. Peeks of Diamond Head between high-rises. Elevators REALLY slow. Typical for condo age. We did incur a few challenges. The pull out sofa bed has a very poor mattress, did not provide any support, and could feel all of the springs below. The property management tried to remedy on the fly with a foam topper. This helped somewhat, but bed could not be closed with the added volume. We had to wrestled with the foam topper daily to enjoy the sitting area.The floors were dirty on arrival. After leaving shoes at the door, we felt a lot of dirt and grit and our feet were black before going to bed the first night. Bed sheets needed to be brushed off and feet washed before going to sleep. I swept, vacuumed and mopped the floor during our stay. The glass coffee table had a lot of dirt/lint under the glass rim. We cleaned this, too.Queen mattress had a dip/divot in the middle that forced you to sleep to one side or the other. Bed pillows on the lumpy side.Overall good stay. Condo just needs some attention.
Everything was as promised.
This condo is at an excellent location. It’s a close walk to the beach, stores and restaurants. The condo is clean with a beautiful view of the beach. The kitchen is equipped with what is needed to cook. There are also items for the beach. I will definitely stay here again!
My family and I had a wonderful stay in this condo. Perfect location. The only thing I would say is that the mattress for the sofa bed needs upgrading as you can feel the springs and coils when you’re laying down and the middle is kinda sinks in now. Other than that, I would highly recommend this condo any family of 4.
My husband and I have stayed at Waikiki Banyan a few times and enjoyed it each time. The property owners were very courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend.
Great location, close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Free parking is an added bonus. Communication with the property manager was over the top, I can’t thank them enough.
I had an excellent stay. It is really close to the beach (a few blocks, very walkable). I was able to walk to most things when I wasn’t out sight seeing. The place met all my needs. Comfortable bed, nice couch, nice glass dining/kitchen table, and I made great use of the kitchen: Plenty of cookware, full refrigerator and freezer. I cooked something or multiple something’s everyday, which was very convenient. I loved the fact the parking was attached and free. Many other places charge 50/day, and I just didn’t need to worry about it. There also was plenty of closet space and dresser space, plus a laundry basket. The paid-for/coin/app-operated laundry for the floor was right next door in the hall. The one thing I didn’t like was a 4 inch strip of wood separating the bedroom from living room area for sliding doors to separate the two rooms. I stubbed my toe several times because it is the same color as the floor. I didn’t hit my foot too hard, but enough to be a negative. Overall I had a fantastic stay, and I would stay there again. It was a perfect blend of being in the city, having everything you need at a very affordable rate.

This was a great place to stay in a good location with a nice view. We rented a car and the parking that came with the condo was a very good plus for the property. We drove around the whole island while we were there. And saw lots of nice places, including the beaches.We saw turtles and the snorkeling was awesome.
The property as a whole was fine. Quick walk to the beach and the main street in Waikiki. I would stay there again, we just picked a bad time, hotel renos leaving no pool makes all the difference in a holiday especially if you aren't a big fan of swimming in the ocean.The view on the listing is from the kitchen window. You can only see the ocean if you sit at the dining room table (one person view). I have 2 suggestions: If you have anyone staying more then a week you should have an automatic cleaning done at least once. The towels build up and are wet sitting for that long in the bathroom as there is no where else to but dirty laundry. Also you have what could be a great view to wake up to in the morning if you just switched the bed and dresser around, seems like a wasted view the way it is currently set up.The owners seem nice and were very quick to help with any questions we had. We really appreciated that!
Great space. Lots of room and convenient. Everything we had hoped for. Plenty of free parking included. Others had complained of slow elevators but we had no issues. I highly recommend this place.
I booked this unit for our daughter and her husband for our family vacation. Lee and Brandie were great to deal with but Koko Resorts that look after it for them were terrible. We couldn’t get into the room then when we did it had only been partly cleaned. Lee and Brandie were a great help helping us to get it all sorted and were gracious enough to give us our cleaning deposit and 1 night rent back which we appreciated. The unit is a little dated but as I said Lee and Brandie were great to deal with right from the start of our booking the unit.
This property is in a good location and you don't really need a car unless you want to tour around (although there are tour companies that will do the driving for you). Very Walkable. The banyon is nice, but dated. Condo has pretty well everything you need. Great view of the pool and nice to sit on the lanai in the evening. The elevators though! So slow. It was not possible for us to take the stairs due to a disability. Try not to get an elevator between 10 am and noon as that is check out time. Parking is good, easy in and out. Laundry and garbage disposal right next to this unit. Corner view is nice - see Diamond Head on one side and Waikiki Beach sunsets on the other. Would stay here again.
We would definitely stay here again. The location was great, as well as all of the amenities.We rented a car and the parking was great. The beach chairs, umbrella, etc was so handy. Thank you!
Nice condo w/ constant trade winds providing fresh air. Close to the beach and convenient urban provisions. Elevators were often terrible w/ waits from the 12th floor up to 10 min. Tub had no way to contain water so showers only. Otherwise excellent.
Convenient Location. Everything was as expected.
The location was great. The condo was very outdated, We were asked to turn a/c off every 6 hours during our stay and when we left the room. The fridge was not able to make ice , curtains were torn. We did enjoy the beach items! Luckily we were not in the room much.
This property is a nice corner unit with a view of the ocean from the kitchen and Diamond Head from the living room. WIFI works great and TV too. Very quite.
Perfect location for all your needs.
The property is only a couple of blocks from Waikiki Beach. From the kitchen window, we could see the beach and the ocean. Free on-site parking was convenient and secure. Lee and Brandie were great hosts, who provided excellent snd prompt communication.
My brother and I had the easiest time from the booking to the check out. Great communication, accurate photos and descriptions made our time very relaxing and smooth. Highly recommend Lee and Brandi
We stayed 12 nights at this condo. Centrally located. One block from Waikiki! Everything is accessible by bus here…no need to get a car! If you’re a Sr. Citizen, you can get a bus pass which will allow you to travel anywhere for only $3.00 MAX per day! Definitely worth the trip to the Transit Station. The hosts are wonderful. Excellent communication! We would stay here again!!

Spacious comfortable 1 bedroom apartment with large fully equiped galley kitchen. Close to the beach, diamondhead, the Zoo and many other places of interest. It included a parking spot with easy access. A great number of othe amenities to make ones stay easier and more enjoyable. Having back pack beach chairs and a beach umbrella was perfect. Overall a great location with great amenities and parking. The hosts were quick to respond to questions and very helpful!
