Getting Around:
Honokaa is a charming town on the Big Island's Hamakua Coast, roughly 50 to 60 minutes from Hilo International Airport. A rental car is essential here, as this rural area is spread out and reaching Waipio Valley, Hilo, or Kona side attractions requires driving. The small town center offers a walkable stretch of local shops and eateries. Parking is easy and uncrowded, fitting this peaceful, off the beaten path setting.

Please note: this home is not equipped with air conditioning. Please note that access to Waipio Valley has been restricted for both non-landowner vehicles and pedestrians indefinitely, with no reopen date at this time. The Waipio Valley Lookout is still open to visitors. This property is managed by Heavenly Vacations.

Beautiful Ocean view
Great location and nice property. We had a great time at the Glass House.
This house has an epic view, all the amenities, and we didn’t realize it’s just a few houses away from one of the most beautiful overlooks on the island. We had a great time and would definitely come back to stay here!

Loved the out-of-the-way setting of the Glass House. Quiet neighborhood with amazing views of the ocean from the dining and living rooms and the lanai. All the necessary amenities for cooking and dining. The extras such as plenty of towels and beach chairs were appreciated. Seamless accessibility and communication with support staff. Being steps away from the view at Waipi'o Point a daily bonus.

All wonderful except for entering the home which wasnot clearly outlined in your communications: *0423 DID NOTOPEN ANY DOORS - finally we were allowed to enter with additional information about keys! after 45 minutes and an equal amount of mosquito bites. Sad Welcome ........
We stayed for a week on Big Island and wanted to see the sights on the North and South sides of the island. This home was off the path enough to give a sense of being secluded was yet accessible for travel into Hilo and Kona. The only suggestions would be to have outside lighting for illuminate the path. The walk to the home was uneven and the bottom step on the side deck was loose. It would be difficult for someone needing handicap accessibility.
Our recent stay at the Waipio Glass House was an absolute treasure, and it's all thanks to the mesmerizing view from the balcony overlooking the ocean. From the moment we stepped onto the balcony, we were spellbound by the breathtaking panorama that stretched out before us. The charming little geckos added an extra touch of magic to an already enchanting setting. The thoughtful inclusion of beach gear truly set this rental apart. From beach chairs and umbrellas to body boards and coolers, Vacasa had thought of everything to ensure that guests could enjoy a hassle-free beach experience. We particularly appreciated the quality and condition of the equipment provided, which was clean, well-maintained, and ready for use upon arrival. One little setback: Vacasa didn't provide washpods for the laundry. It was surprising to learn that they cited cost and complexity as reasons for not providing this basic amenity. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind retreat where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world, look no further than this enchanting property.
