Welcome to Pineapple Place Reimagined! Our 2 bed 1 bath condo in lovely Kona sleeps 6, with access to an amazing oceanfront pool! In fact we just learned its the only residential ocean front pool in Kona! So therefore its the best pool in Kona! It's our tiny slice of real estate & we love sharing it with others. Great location 1 mile south of Kona

Thanks to all of you we are on the verge of Premier Host (and are superhost on that other platform...lol)

We have been hosting in Hawaii for 8 years now! Every year we take feedback from our guests both good and bad and aim to improve our place. This year we reimagined the pineapple place. Its still the same pineapple place you loved.. but with some new guest friendly features! Read on!

The First and most important change is TAXES are now included in the price! So no extra charge for Hawaii tax anymore. The price you see is the price you pay. Our accountant said please don't do this.. but our guests come first!

Check out is now 11 am! We know how hard it is to get moving in the morning and pack up. We are giving you an extra hour to pack up!

More flexible cancellations: We changed our policy to the most flexible VRBO has!

Want to get away and work from home in paradise? We have upgraded wifi, as well as a new fan on the lanai for the best place to work. Because nothing is better than working outside!

New appliances for 2026 (New AC, Refrigerator and Stove/Oven!!)

Our space is small (about 600 sq ft) but has everything you need for a great Hawaiian Vacation! Amenities include a community OCEAN FRONT POOL and BBQ area!!!, a small but fully equipped kitchen just updated with new pots and pans!, wifi, Roku Smart TV, private Lanai with new privacy bamboo!, NO STAIRS, assorted beach gear (new snorkels and fins), App based or coin laundry on the property, 1 assigned parking space with additional guest parking potentially available (no oversized vehicles, contact if you have one and we will try to help you out)

Unbeatable Kailua-Kona Location - Steps from Ali'i Drive, Ocean access from the property with lovely tide pools, I saw an octopus last year!, Not recommended for swimming as its a bit rough.. but perfect for the sunset! Or rent a fishing pole and try fishing, just don't clean your fish in our condo!!!)

The condo is 1 mile south of downtown and 2 miles North of magic sands beach! Grab a Kona Coffee from Green Flash next door and have a lovely morning stroll! its one of our favorite things to do! Or rent a bike from the bike rack across the street and bike to happy hour at Lava Java or Huggos on the Rocks!

The Big Island is home to unique landscapes and gorgeous wildlife so get exploring (its why its the best island!) We highly recommend KonaStyle catamarans. Our neighbor is the first mate on the boat and its a great time!

Volcano National Park, Manta Ray diving (a must), Mauna Kea observatory, and Waipo Valley are all amazing! If you have any questions please ask us as we have a long list of recommendations! especially if you like happy hour!

LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS NOTICE: Hi all, we love being available for those than need last minute accommodation (within 48 hours of check in booking). In those cases please check with us before booking so we can make sure our team can get the place ready for you. Our local team is awesome but have requested that we check with them on last minute requests. 99% of the time its fine but we don't want to have you show up and it not be ready! So just check with us on the last minutes requests!

Holiday Check in Notice (All federal holidays) Our cleaner is a wonderful local independent operator. Like us all she wants to spend the holidays with her family. If you check in on a holiday noted above, she will clean but will need to charge double. Note we do note keep any of the cleaning fee and 100% goes to her.

If you rent from us the entire condo is yours!! Both bedrooms have comfortable Queens beds!. Additionally, our living room has a Queen sized sofa bed (please ask if you need this so we can leave sheets for it). The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and just updated! Additionally if you are traveling with your little ones we now have a Pack n Play so you don't have to bring one!

The condo is equipped with Air Conditioning in the main room and ceiling fans in each room.

We have enacting some environmentally friendly policies (this is Hawaii and we do not want to be wasteful in our resource usage) that were recommended by our cleaner who is an awesome local lady. The primary one being that she sets up the condo based on the number of people listed when the reservation is made. So please be accurate because if you are not then you might have a few less towels than you need!

Other things to note

- Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, flat-screen SMART TV, beach gear, assigned parking space and more!

- Coin or card laundry is available in the building next to ours. Map is on the door

- We have a lots of recommendations for just about anything you might want. Don't hesitate to ask us! If you need something specific for your stay or notice something missing you need don't hesitate to ask us. We will do our best to help out.

- Closest Commercial Airport: Kona International Airport at Keāhole:
73~200 Kupipi St, Kailua~Kona, HI 96740, (approx 10 miles away). About a 20 minute drive. We are happy to host guests for one night as we are close to the airport too!

- House rules are provided and any fines due to violations of these a rules are the responsibility of the guest.

Now for the annoying stuff. Absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING. If we find evidence you disregarded this rule you will be fined your entire security deposit. Finally do not put grease, coffee grinds or other large objects in the disposal. This will clog the drain and you will be charged if we have to call a plumber. (This has happened). Also only minimum possible TP in the toilet. The plumbing is on the older side and can’t handle large amounts of TP. If we have to call a plumber due to this you are responsible.

Also this is a tropical island and thus there are occasional bugs. Being a ground floor unit you may see one from time to time especially is you leave the doors to the lanai open. Thus we ask you to keep the doors closed. The association is aggressive in spraying and we have an on call bug guy for emergencies. (an emergency is not 1 or 2 ants or roaches btw, again think of the environment on this one).

Overall, good location that is convenient to the attractions to Kona. Great to have a designated parking spot. Turning left out of the apartment is a bit tricky as the traffic backs up due to a four way stop just up the road, but that is manageable. Great beaches nearby (just not in front on the property as that one is very rocky).The apartment is well appointment, the best in terms of cooking utensils and basics (basics like olive oil, salt, pepper, soy sauce, etc are all available). Additionally, there was enough of everything to get a user started (sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner, etc) so that you don't have to run out to the store immediately when you arrive. It was nice that they had reusable shopping bags as you will need these in Hawaii. The apartment also has a great selection of beach chairs, toys, etc. It could use a few more beach towels and bigger ones for use.The oven was a problem (and we let the owner know about it). The knob turns on unexpectedly and is inaccurrate in terms of the temperature of the oven. We also had trouble getting the oven to turn off, which hopefully they will have looked at. However, this isn't the first apartment in this area we have had trouble with the oven, so it wasn't a huge surprise. So...... just save yourself the trouble and eat out! Either we are getting bigger or the beds are fulls, not queens. Overall, a lovely experience, but we may opt for a resort for the price next time.

Great location, close to everything you need. Easy parking in and out. Unit only has AC in the living room, bedrooms get hot. Unit also needs a deep clean. Felt like I was staying at my grandma's lots of nick knacks

There are many things we appreciated about this condo and a few things that probaly could use some attention. The location was good and the pool had a great view and was a definite plus after a long day in the sun. However, the place was very small and better suited for a couple or small family. We did have a lot of trouble locking the door which looks to have been damaged the hardware should be replaced. Upon arrival, it needed to be aired out due to a strong cleaner smell. I think the main that was missing was that welcoming feeling or personal touch. It was relaxing to sit outside on the patio and overall it was a pretty quiet place to come back to after a long day of exploration.

I'm not sure why this homeowner feels You should not get the access information until you're already on a plane and headed that way operating on blind faith that they are not scammers but that's the way you have to book this one, 'if you book this one". We trust them with hundreds of dollars for a couple of nights for months and they can't trust us with a door code 24 hours in advance. We have been VRBO owners since 2009 and have also used the service to rent from others since 2009 and have never encountered this from another owner before. Providing the cheapest toilet paper the store sells at over 300 per night..... Really? And only two towels there's no way this place could accommodate six full sized people but that's how it's advertised. So if you're reading this and your party is larger than 4 or you need more than 2 full beds and 2 love seats, you're going to be disappointed. I've never given another VRBO less than 5 stars because I know how it is being in this game but I just couldn't let this go on without saying something.

Stayed 9 days. The apartment is perfect for one or two couples who spend most of their time out and about the island. Close to the ocean, close to the town shops and restaurants, and easy to find. Well worth it!

Condo was as advertised but washand dryer were in different bldg and not in the condo. The floors had not been swept upon our arrival. Condo owner was very responsive.
