About this property
- The "Ohia" accommodation (Main house) can sleep up to six guests It has a large living room with extra high ceilings, an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, large dining area, and two sleeping wings separated from each other for privacy. The principal bedroom wing has a king-sized bed with outdoor patio access, a large, private bathroom with plentiful cabinetry, double sinks, and a walk-in, curved-wall shower. The second wing has a large bedroom with a queen=sized bed, a study with room for children, together with a large bathroom with walk-in shower. This wing also has direct access to the large covered outside patio. The yard and laundry facilities are shared with a smaller guest house behind the main house that may be rented separately with up to 4 guests. See VRBO 817032.
- Large living room with 16 foot ceilings, an exceptionally well designed large kitchen, convenient eating area large enough for everyone, a master bedroom wing with King Bed and luxury linens that is delightful, and two other well equipped rooms, with Queen Bed in one room, plus a study with two beds. Also, two well equipped fully tiled bathrooms, both with large walk in showers.
- Large covered entertaining areas (patios) with extensive outdoor seating and dining area.
- Fully landscaped acre with many varieties of palms, heavenly-scented gardenia and other flowering plants, and a small orchard with orange, lemon, lime and avocado trees (in season). Located on quiet, dead end road, nestled behind private gated entry with native Ohia trees and wild orchids.
- Convenient to:
o Hilo shopping, restaurants and services
o Nearby Keaau and Pahoa towns for: farmer's markets, cafes and restaurants
o 2018 Kilauea lava flow; Kalapana historical lava flow; Volcano National Park; Richardson Beach (whales in season)
o Safe beach for small children, free local zoo; botanical gardens
o Walking/running/cycling on some 100 miles of well packed private gravel or cinder roads in the subdivision, with all main roads paved. Are you training for a run, bike race or triathlon? Lots of opportunities to train here!
o Free swimming most days at Pahoa and Hilo in large community pools with life guards.

As required by Hawaii regulations, please note:
(A) Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise from the STVR shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
(B) Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.
(C) Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area (gravel parking area).
(D) The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes.

Beautiful relaxing home with a gorgeous yard. Has everything you could need or want for kitchen, bathroom and laundry supplies. The owners were very responsive and genuinely kind. So grateful for the feeling of comfort that embraced us the minute we drove through the gate!

We had a wonderful visit in the Ohia House. The house has everything you need and more. We actually spent most of our time just lounging around the house and enjoying the grounds. They have everything you need for a day at the beach including coolers, towels, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and beach toys. Hosts were every responsive to our questions. We would definitely stay here again.
We all enjoyed this beautiful home! We are grateful for the experience and appreciated the helpful and accommodating owners! We had everything that was needed to make our stay on this wonderful island a memorable vacation! The yard is lovely and the location is secluded and inviting!
The house was very clean and the kitchen very well appointed. It worked very well for two adults and our three kids. 45 minutes to Volcano National Park. Found some great food at the Puna Kai Shopping Center which was not far away. Thanks!
I would highly recommend this place! This was a move for us, not a vacation, so, like most moves, it was quite stressful but Laura was always kind & patient & understanding of our situation. Def made things SO much easier. And her home was so nice! And comfortable & it had absolutely everything you could want or need & more. Thank you so much!!!
The house itself is amazing. The pictures don’t do the house justice. We really enjoyed talking with the groundskeeper. He mentioned some people just chose to stay at the house for their whole visit and we can see why.
The house and yard were beautiful. The accommodations were very well stocked with everything you might need, from shampoo to snorkel gear. Very relaxing! We even enjoyed the coqui frogs.
Very comfortable unit and had everything we needed. Not on a beach and the "pool" was good for wading but not swimming.
The house is perfect for a larger group. The grounds are amazing and extremely well kept. We had a really great time!
