Rental Details

Property Overview

Located in a quiet neighborhood in beautiful Hawaiian Paradise Park on the pahoehoe lava rocks above the blue Pacific Ocean. Wake up to the most beautiful sunrises and fall asleep to the lull of the ocean waves.

Sit back and enjoy the ocean while you BBQ. Later go for a dip in the 3 person soaking tub (please no children under 12 yr old) - Ocean Front! Get cozy and stream a movie on the 65" smart living room TV, play some board games in the bookcase, try the ukulele or the guitar and make some music! Whip out a yoga mat for some stretching and try the pressure point mat!

Load up the car for your island adventure! Everything you needs is here for a great outing! Ice chest with ice packs in the freezer, sand chairs, beach umbrella & towels, beach sheets for picnics, beach matts and TOYS....sand toys, balls, a huge Jenga game and boogie boards!

Do you want to explore? You can text Janice for suggestions and of course help in deciding what direction to go in first and the best places to eat near by and far away!

Do you need to work? NO WORRIES.... You can check-in with the office, answer emails with excellent Wifi and find several good spots to hunker down to get some work pau (pow - done)! We have one guest that stays every year for several weeks just to get caught up on her work!

The property has plenty of parking with easy access to the home and there are motion detection lights at night -there are no public street lights here in Hawaiian Paradise Park. We are a "Dark Sky" state because of the telescopes on Mauna Kea and the street lights you will see are amber in color and are downward facing.

We have Mother Nature keeping us cool with lovely trade winds and every room has ceiling fans. People find it curious that we have no HVAV ducting in the homes - no need!

The private master suite is located on the second floor. The master bedroom with a king size bed, a full bathroom, washer/dryer and a large oceanfront covered lanai (deck) are inviting and romantic. There is a sleeper sofa also.

The main floor of the home has a large Living room with a sofa and 65" smart TV, a family room area with a sleeper sofa, bookcase with books, toys, board games and you can make some music with the ukulele and guitar!

The kitchen is full size and fully equipped and there is a dining room table and an additional table on the oceanfront lanai next to the gas BBQ grill. Also on the oceanfront lanai is a seating area with a 3-person soaking tub - Best Whale Watch Spot EVER!

The second bedroom with a full bathroom has a new queen size mattress on a beautiful "elephant" bamboo bedframe and there is a walk-in closet!

ALL the beds have 100% cotton sheets - the micro fiber sheets here are not comfortable - they tend to make you sweat and are not soft like real cotton!

This is your vacation - Maka Ala Lani is here to malama you during your stay!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is spacious, right on the ocean, and equipped with everything- every details is thoughtfully constructed. It was very clean and felt like a true home. The host was welcoming and helpful.

I loved everything about this property. It was wonderful waking up to the waves and beautiful sunrises then walking out to the shore to watch the waves crash. The styling in the house was wonderful. The kitchen had everything we could need for our stay. There was snorkeling gear and other beach necessities. Janice communicated well before our stay our stay and was incredibly friendly throughout our visit. The neighbors were friendly and helpful as well. The kids absolutely loved staying here, and they loved all the animals (the chickens, little lizards, cats, and the pigs). The neighborhood was peaceful. It was fairly accessible to a lot of the cool parts of the island. When Kilauea began erupting, being so close to Hawaii Volcanos National Park allowed us to get there quickly and beat all the tourists coming from Kona. Nearby Hilo had a lot to offer. I really hated to leave and would not hesitate to stay here the next time I'm on the big island. Hands down, this is the best place I've ever stayed on vacation.

I stayed with my wife and five kids. We fit comfortably in the house, which actually appears larger than we expected. The home is right against the sea which makes for an amazing view and experience. It is set in a very friendly and walkable neighborhood we had fun exploring and despite being near so many homes, the location is very natural and fun with wild chickens, and a diverse colorful vegetation. Janice was a great host, and provided us with everything we needed and very accessible and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The kids had the time of their life and we would love to go back sometime!

This was a fantastic house! The view was spectacular and location was perfect. It was centrally located for Volcano National Park, Mauna Kea, Akaka Falls, and other tourist attractions on this side of the island. The house was spotless and the owner thought of everything. Kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of towels, sheets for the pull out bed, even the light switches were labeled. Highly recommend this property! Spectacular!

We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and this was one of the best. Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the appliances seem very new. The water dispenser was a really nice bonus. We loved that the light switches were all labeled. If the house gets warm while you explore during the day, just open windows and turn on the modern ceiling fans and you’re cool in no time. And the VIEW…amazing. We would rent this home again in a heartbeat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Janice, who happened to be available, the views of the ocean and crash and thrum of the ocean waves hitting the lava out front and the full moon rising, sunrises and sunsets are wonderfully etched in our memories! Great neighborhood for walking, too! We will definitely stay here again! Mahalo Janice! Virginia and family

Janice was a great host! The moment she found out we had a kid with us, she let us know about a playpen and other kid necessities. Thankfully our 10 year old is not high maintenance anymore 😉, but we still appreciated the offer. The property itself is absolutely stunning. We loved having access to the bluffs and being able to wake up to the sunrise on the ocean every morning. The location is good - close enough to town if needed but far enough away as to not be in the middle of all of the tourists. The house was very clean, and instructions were clearly placed for using the spa (NICE treat on starry nights!), Wi-Fi, and large variety of lights. We also truly appreciated the large ceiling fans and extra fans in the closet, as it was pretty warm when we visited. Finally, the well stocked kitchen was very useful. We cooked a few nights and used the Tupperware that was provided. This is definitely a place that we will recommend to friends and family and if we every visit the island again- we’ll be here for sure!!

This home was amazing! The master suite was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The sunrises were incredible! The home was quite spacious. It had great amenities to make things easy (like baggies, oil) and also beach gear/towels. Janice was a great host - excellent communication.

Everything was great with the house and location. Though the neighbors dog barked us awake between 4am and 7am every single day we were there. She keeps her dog outside on the porch right next to the bedroom window of the rental property. If not for that the location would have been 5 stars.
