Property Overview
The first thing you will notice when you enter the condo is the view of the ocean that fills the entire glass slider making you feel like you are on a ship out at sea. One guest said they dropped to their knees and wept because of the overwhelming view of the ocean.
This unit is located on the second floor without an elevator. The second floor is the best compromise as it is one less flight of stairs and has an unobstructed view of the ocean. First floor units have an obstructed view do to the seawall. Another plus is that this unit is air conditioned as there are still many units without AC in this resort.
This is a premier property located directly on the ocean front off Alii Dr. in Kailua-Kona in the historical Kona Magic Sands Resort. Directly on the North side of the building is a park for yoga, BBQing and picnicking. Thirty feet to the West is the turquoise blue ocean where you can see a plethora of yellow tang fish in the surf, snorkelers, outrigger canoe races, spinner dolphins and frolicking whales. Forty feet to the East of the building is an unobstructed view of Alii Dr. and the final marathon leg of the World Championship Ironman triathlon. Directly on the South side of the building, steps from our unit, is the Magic Sands Beach, which is the only white sand beach in Kailua-Kona. The beach is excellent for boogie boarding and sea turtles commonly swim between your legs while wadding in the warm ocean waters.
I love to take my two mile morning walk to the Green Shack coffee shop and listen to the orchestra of exotic birds. The Kona Trolley shuttle and ebike station are directly across the street if you want a more leisurely travel into downtown Kailua-Kona. The Kona Royal Resort has a top notch luau with a roasted pig cooked in a traditional earthen oven wrapped in tea leaves. It is truly the most delicious thing I've ever eaten.
The big island has so much to offer that it is going to take a life time to experience all of it. Some of the favorites include helicopter tours, active volcano hikes, star gazing from the worlds largest and most scientifically active observatory in the world, whale watching, snorkeling, surfing, swimming with the manta rays, jungle waterfall hikes, deep sea fishing and just plain relaxing. Every time I visit, I never want to leave.
Our studio condo is EXTREMELY luxurious now. We (meaning me) just did a $105,000 remodel by myself. Entering the unit, you are immediately met with a fully functioning 20 inch stainless stove with glass top, all new shaker cabinets with matte black hardware, under mount sink with push button disposal, new 18-inch stainless dishwasher, quartz counter tops with a two stool bar on the end, new 28 gal short water heater, new stainless microwave, full sized stainless refrigerator, cleaning supply closet, coffee nook, wall mount movable 54-inch TV with cabinets housing internet and router equipment, armoire for hanging clothes, dining table with bar stool seating and hula lamp, queen sized sofa sleeper couch for additional guests including portable privacy wall, king sized bed with two door under dresser, matching night stands with matching palm tree lamps, barn door access to bathroom, vanity with back lit mirror, large format tile, glass enclosed shower with mosaic flooring and 20 inch mosaic niche, hooks for swimsuits, shelving for extra towels, laundry basket, full length mirror, a place to put full sized luggage under the bottom shelf for maximizing living space and all new luxury plank flooring. In addition, there is a beach closet in the bathroom, which houses two boogie boards, two beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a regular umbrella for rainy days, two life vests, two sets of snorkel gear, a cooler bag and some beach toys.
The kitchen is full service with everything you should need; dishware, pots and pans, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, coffee press, water heating pot for tea, silverware, utensils, knives, etc. The trash is located in the far left cabinet drawer of the kitchen.
The laundry facility is located ground level on the North side of the building on the Pahoehoe side. The key in the unit will allow you to access the machines that can be operated with coins or better via an app. This key also provides access to the pool and outdoor shower in a bamboo fence located at the entrance off Alii Dr.
You will lay in your bed and fall asleep to the smell of the ocean breeze and the meditative sounds of the ocean waves.
Hopefully you are outside playing as much as possible, but we do have wifi and cable for viewing on a 54-inch tv.
We hope you love your stay as much as we do and have experiences you will remember for a life time.

Bryan and Jing

Very clean. There was a lot of beach stuff (chairs, boogie boards, etc…), though we didn’t use it. Easy beach access, beautiful view. Easy to check in/out.
The unit is gorgeous! It’s been recently remodeled by the owner and it really shines. The sliding doors let in the perfect amount of ocean noise to lull you to sleep, and make for a perfect breakfast view. It’s truly steps from Magic Sands beach and the Magics Bar and Grill. I highly recommend this spot and would happily stay again!
The food and drink left always amazes me at vrbo
We were fortunate enough to stay here one day after the remodel was complete and we were blown away. We were already content with the studio with the existing pictures, but wow, the remodel is fabulous! When I say you can't beat the view!? I mean, what more could you want than sipping your morning coffee while watching the spinner dolphins put on a show? The place was very clean, the AC unit worked great in my opinion (I even got chilly at night, and I'm a hot sleeper). Could not be more conveniently located to the beach. If you get a chance to stay here, do it!!
Apartment is newly renovated and very clean. Con:Is on the second floor and there is no elevator.Pro: there is a community pool, is walkable to the beach and a restaurant. You can hear the waves all night!
Great view and easy walk to the beach. Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, no noise machine needed!
Great location and beautiful ocean views!
Lovely place to stay and amazing location next to Magic Sands beach and Magic’s which my husband has dubbed the best mai tai on the island! Oh and you get a 10% discount at Magic’s is an added bonus! Amazing to fall asleep with the sounds of the ocean and the most amazing sunsets!
Pretty nice stay overall. Apartment is a little bit dated but the location and view is really nice. Was great having chairs, towels, etc.
Great view. Safe and clean!
Location was perfect, we loved listening to the waves each night. Apt had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels
Exactly what we were looking for. Excellent location and well maintained property. We loved that there were plenty of beach supplies, including toys for the kids. Would stay again!
We absolutely loved our stay in Kona, Hawaii! The condo was perfect—it had everything we needed and more. We especially appreciated all the beach gear stocked in the closet, which made our daily snorkeling adventures so easy and fun. The views from the condo were stunning and added so much to our experience. One of our favorite spots to snorkel was Kahalu’u Beach Park—just a short drive away and full of marine life. The location of the condo was also ideal, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and beaches. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended! Thanks for a great stay!
Had everything we needed and then some! Clean, great view..The beach area was super small but good for snorkeling. We enjoyed our stay.
Having the ocean out the window was awesome, loud but perfect for us. Got to see whales breaching out our window soon after we arrived. Bonus!! Clean, well equipped and very safe. I am Kama’aina, had a friend visiting, great introduction to Kona side. Looking forward to coming back again soon.Great restaurant on site also.
Great Location!
We booked this place because we had trouble finding an ocean view with air conditioning to cool us off so we could sleep! The views were definitely beautiful. I saw a whale on the morning we checked out! Check out the Magic's Beach Grill downstairs on the south side of the building you even get a discount for staying at the property. We did have a few issues during our stay but we called the host and he had someone come out immediately to address them. He even refunded some of our money without me having to ask which I appreciated. There was laundry room on site which was helpful to wash our clothes and bathing suits after swimming in the ocean. There’s beaches on either side of the building but we already had a lot planned for yours & sights to see.
The room was everything we expected it to be. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Beautiful location right beside the beach. Perfect room to relax. Has all you need! Will stay again. AC worked great!
Quite old furniture, not well maintained However good location
Perfect location next to Magic Sands beach; I either body surfed or snokeled each morning at dawn. Also, across the street is a bike share station so you can bike around. The studio is smaller but perfect for my 2 daughters and me.
The location is great- near beach, shops, and restaurants. The beaches within walking distance have tide pools and a mix of sandy/rocky terrain. The beds are nice, and my kids didn't complain about the fold out bed. Stove/oven is quite small.
Good stay, nice place. Liked the convenience of Magic Sands Grill for food. Would stay there again.
Bryan was so helpful, the booking process was easy and the space lived up to its photos. It was super easy to find and we really appreciated the extra directions Bryan sent ahead of time. The space was super welcoming, we settled in super quickly. And there was everything we needed; dishes, cooking stuff, beach stuff. And the view was fantastic. We fell asleep every night to the rhythmic waves. And the view! Our stay was spectacular.
Ocean front condo. Restaurant on site, with good food and great service. Super comfy bed, amazing views. Right next to Magic Sands Beach, go early as its a small beach and fills up fast. Beach gear in closet.
Enjoyed stay
We had a great stay here! It's small but totally functional and such a fabulous spot. The restaurant is fabulous and you just can't beat the sunsets!!!
You cannot get any closer to the ocean than we are here! The room is just as described and has everything you need. Very close to shops if you wanted to walk to dinner. Parking space is a little tight - luckily while we were here there was an open space next to us and behind us so we could make adjustments (my husband is a UPS driver so he's very good at getting into spaces and he said this would have been difficult if those spots were full so just a heads up). You can hear some traffic noise but nothing crazy. It was a great spot for us to spend a few days.
