If you're looking for location, location, this is it. The master bedroom is lulled to sleep at night by the waves. However, this condo needs some work. The main carpets are stained and need a good cleaning or replacement. The screen doors onto the lanai in the living area need replacing. They won't stay on the tracks and there are several tears. The bathroom sinks took long to drain. The kitchen is adequately supplied. Lots of beach chairs and snorkel gear (we left a couple of sets as well), but it could use a cooler. We loved the location, but there is a trade-off.
What a great place. Close to town but not too close. Great running. Nice pool. Being right on the beach was everything. Listening to the waves all night. Take me back. Sunset sunset sunset. I felt sad for the renters who couldn't just be in their own place watching the best sunset night after nightThank you!
We had a great time in Kona. The location of the condo was excellent! Right on the water and very close to many beach parks and the touristy downtown Kona. The general overall maintenance of the property could use more attention. The counters and floor of the kitchen needed another wipe down. The sink in the bathroom would not drain. The water filters on the fridge and the pool area needed to be changed. So no filtered water to drink unless purchased. The carpets could use a good cleaning or replacement and the sliding doors to the lanai need to be cleaned and oiled so they open and close. On our last night at the condo guests arrived upstairs and were extremely loud. So glad they were not there the whole time or we might have asked them to be more considerate or spoke with management On the positive side, there was a lot of beach equipment for guest use and that was awesome! And the beds were very comfortable.
I would like to emphasize that this property has NO AIR CONDITIONING. We stayed during September and upon entering the unit at check-in the interior temperature was almost unbearable. The late afternoon sun shone directly into the unit and temperature had to be in the 90's. I immediately pondered seeking other accommodations as it was so hot. Aside from the heat, the unit's furnishings were dated and uncomfortable, the rug was noticeably dirty and stained. The screen and glass doors to the lanai were old did not operate properly. Louvre window was broken further preventing additional ventilation of the unit. Overall would not recommend staying there again.
Our family enjoyed our stay at this condo. The view from the lanai was amazing. We enjoyed sitting out there, and listening to the ocean. The sunsets are amazing. The condo was well stocked and had everything we needed including beach towels and chairs. We had a small hiccup with the fridge breaking one day. The management company had someone Out quickly to fix it within a couple of hours. We really appreciated their quick action. The only suggestion I have is to have someone come repair the sliding and screen doors to the lanai, they are difficult to open and close. Overall, I would recommend staying here.
The place needs a lot of updating. Many things are not working well
Perfect location, we stay in these condos often so knew the setup. Washer dryer a bonus. Kitchen fully stocked. Stocked with beach towels. The only con is the carpet needs attention but unit was clean otherwise.
Pros: The ocean view from this condo is amazing! The lanai is exceptional. We enjoyed amazing sunsets. We were able to have the sliders open and a screen across to keep bugs out. We stayed in early March and found the unit to be comfortable without A/C (once we figured out how to open the guest room window). There were lots of ceiling fans as well as portable fans. Two queen beds in the guest room. The host was above and beyond responsive. We were not happy with the state of the carpet, the guest room needed a more thorough cleaning, and they took care of it to our satisfaction the next day. The host provided four beach chairs, and this was a game changer for enjoying our time on the beach. Grills were very convenient to the location of the condo. The nearest beach has the best snorkeling on the island. You can swim/snorkel the whole bay. There are turtles. I even spent time with a moray eel. The walk is 10 minutes from the condo. They do charge for parking for the Kahalu’u Beach Park, but if you get there early enough you should be able to park on the street just opposite the entrance to the parking lot. The condo location is convenient to groceries and restaurants as well as Manta Ray village if you want to have the manta ray night snorkel experience. Good value for the cost. Cons: Uncomfortable living room furniture, noisy third floor neighbors, no smart TV.
Overall everything went really great. The only small complaint would have been the stains in the carpet. I would stay here again for sure.
Wonderful ocean views, great location and amenities (e.g. BBQ, pool, tennis/pickleball courts). Loved the lanai and the sunsets. Condo well-stocked with dishes, pots/pans, etc. However, some repairs are needed to spruce up - new carpet, screen doors don’t work well, drains in some showers and sinks need to be cleared. All basic maintenance that I hope they can address for future visitors.
