Wonderful hosts! Farm setting with a spectacular view of the ocean. The studio has an efficient outdoor kitchen & patio surrounded by fruit trees & tropical plants. We had everything we needed in the suite & highly recommend their old Hawaii spirit & hospitality. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

This is a very quiet and peaceful location with a good view of the Pacific. Host and hostess were more than accommodating and were a delight to talk to. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay here. The cat is friendly as well.😀 Go Purdue!!

This is wonderful getaway, equipped with a quiet setting, outdoor kitchen, a cuddly cat and a friendly dog. There is limited cellular service near the property, given the rural setting, but the apt has WiFi for your convenience and connectivity. Our host was hospitable and ensured we had everything we needed.

Very pleasant, simple room with an outdoor kitchen and dining table very close to Waipio. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside, with view. Accommodations are modest, but perfectly comfortable - and hosts are very accommodating. Thank you!

We stayed with them a week and it was a wonderful, quiet, calm, relaxing stay. Adelina treated us like family - shared fruit from their garden with us! Bed was very comfortable. I slept on the pull out couch, and it was very comfortable as well. Water pressure was amazing - better than 5 star hotel pressure. Full size fridge for all your snacks and food. Fresh ground coffee and coffee maker available. Any cookware (pots, pans, silverware) you might possibly need available at the outdoor kitchen - but there are plenty of food options at Honokaa (don’t spend your vacation cooking!). Ocean breeze at night, you could see all the stars. Located on a quiet street in between Honokaa and Waipio valley. Absolutely ideal if you want to get a feel for local living and get away from all the tourists. Great midpoint to explore both Hilo and Kona (they are both 1.5 hours away driving). We also loved their dog (Storm) and cat (Magnolia). Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to our family and friends.

The place was absolutely beautiful and our gracious hostess was very welcoming and accommodating. The walk down toward the ocean is lined with trees and grasses that catch the seas breeze and whisper back the welcoming praises of the nurturing landscape.

We loved our stay here and can only recommend. Very nice and clean, the couch is a comfortable fold out couch, and everything you may need is provided. It is a very peaceful place with stunning views from the room as well as the outdoor kitchen and outdoor seating. They have a nice cat and dog to chase the wild pigs away from their fruit trees. Be aware that the telephone number listed on Vrbo is a landline number, so you need to call, not text. The property is a gem and Adelina is the kindest most amazing host. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the Big Island. Mahalo, Adelina!

Beautifully quiet studio enveloped by the greenery of Waipio and the dark blue ocean offshore. Wonderful host! The studio ambassadors Storm Popoki (cat) greeted the day with me as I enjoyed a cup of coffee and planned my day. Overall, wonderful place!

Really enjoyed the scenic rural country stay! This is a special part of the island. Short walk to Waipio valley lookout and short drive into historic Honakaa. The hosts were very welcoming and the fresh fruit from their garden was an exceptional treat. I loved the dogs, cats, and farmlife all around. A truly unique stay. Would love to stay again for some peace, quiet, and nature :)Mahalo!

slightly out of the way but that was what we were looking for, loved the fresh fruit and ability to interact with locals, safe, dog/cat on premise-we are pet lovers, could use a few extra spices/condiments for kitchen as travellers won't carry those, friendly hosts willing to answer any questions,

I arrived a little late due to car rental events. It was so nice of them to call to see if I was ok and still coming. I had been in Kukuihaele a couple of other times. Buzz met me when I arrived. He is very nice and showed me the place next to his shop which he never used while I was there. After a day I fell in love with the simple peaceful place with a wonderful view of nature. The little outdoor covered kitchen had all I needed. Best of all was sitting out there and eating all my meals and just sitting. Birds galore singing all day! And croaky frogs that sound like birds at night. Buzz keeps the grass mowed beautifully around the house and the field of fruit. I walked barefoot through the field to visit a neighbor. It was a special time. People are friendly. Waimea is close by and superb farmers markets! I had a wonderful time and have really fond memories staying in Kukuihaele. There are tangerine, few orange trees, bananas, guava (yum) coconuts, gardenias, gorgeous hibiscus 🌺…. Every morning I had a fruit salad. I walked every day to the Waipio Lookout. It’s a walk through the neighborhood. Everything is so green. You get to see and be a part of rural Hawaii and not crowded tourist places. Honokaa is the little town 9 miles away. It’s an old sugar cane town and really charming and full of nice people who live in the area and sweet shops and cafes. Love it! Hilo is a gorgeous drive and a great older town to visit too. Lots to do there.

The property was as advertised and owner seemed to mean well but albeit their dogs kept us awake every night running down wooden stairs howling after wild pigs in back yard area. Owner was hesitant to control them because he didn’t want his yard dug up. After complaining we had a few nights reprieve. Only one old beach chair and a rain umbrella was offered at first. No laundry was offered. No top sheet or pillow cases for first week either. The property and view were lovely. We enjoyed the fruit trees everyday. The owner like I said seemed to mean well but was not committed to provide the stay advertised. He said his wife usually took care of everything and she was gone at the moment.

The host were super nice and helpful, communicated quickly. they are new at renting out their space and everything was very clean. Being someone who does stay at places alot I made a few suggestions. The view was beautiful and at night you could just hear nature talking. We came and went as needed.
