Kauhale Makai 331: 1 br condo @ Ocean Front Resort in S. Kihei Sleeps 4

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While our vacation bordered on being great our unit was .. disappointing. On the plus side to unit was clean, it was also very dated. The refrigerator was pretty clearly second hand .. rusty exterior, late 90’s vintage. The tub and shower also showed a lot of wear and tear. The decor and furniture might have even reflected the 80’s styles. The beach was very rocky with broken coral everywhere. We wouldn’t swim there. Resort staff .. we could never find them. There seemed to be no provision to arrange for a mid-stay cleaning of the unit or a towel exchange.That said the view was great. Nice sunny exposure. Bus stop very close and fares were cheap.

Cabinet doors do not stay closed. Burners on stove do not lay flat. All vents coated with dust. Carpeting, furniture, drapes are filthy. Patio doors do not operate properly. Bathtub slippery and no grab bar. Rust on side of refrigerator. Outlet by bathroom sink worn out. TV’s do not work as stated. Chair on balcony broken. No cabinet for food. Smoke alarm kept beeping.

Room smelled musty and carpet wasn’t very clean. No office staff for 5 days we were there. Shower curtain was covered in mildew. The place needs a deep clean, but is a great location.

It place is nice and clean with complete amenities. Just need to fix the washers for laundry and upgrade the couch coz it was quite uncomfortable to sleep in it. But overall it was great! Will definitely stay at this property again. Thanks a lot!

Smells like old cigarette smoke and mold, refrigerator has has rust on outside of it, the ice maker broken, had to ask for a blanket, bathroom needs updated . The pool was closed the entire time would have gone home if I could have. Desk clerk needs to learn how to deal with people. Money should have been refunded for the pool being closed. The door code had to be reprogrammed almost every day. Had stayed at another condo week before but never had a problem. Would not recommend staying at this condo.

Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need and beach towels, chairs, cooler, even a boogie board all came on handy.. Bed is comfortable. Our older son did complain about the pullout sofa bed on the first day he got used to it later on. Good location and close to everything. Management (Daniel was the guy) was very quick in response to our after hours requests. Overall a very good experience.

property was great. Kitchen well stocked with all kitchen tools needed. unit was nice and clean. There was a problem with kitchen faucet leaking and shower valve loose. I called and it was taken care of that morning. The only drawback was the pullout bed from frontroom couch. It was unsleepable. It needs to be replaced. It was more comfortable for my son to sleep on the floor than on this bed. The sleeper couch/sofa needs to be replaced if you are to advertise sleeps 4. Only way for that to happen is if they sleep on the floor. Everything else was great.

It was a lovely property. The condo was clean and everything was a little dated but comfortable. The property grounds and near by units were under renovation. So I was awoken by hammering more than once. But overall it was a nice and I would recommend it to anyone.
