Romantic Getaway, on the East side. Perfect location, with access to everything!

Very nice condo, close to stores, shops and restaurants. Nice sandy beach good for swimming only 2 minute walk down bike path. Would recommend this place to anyone staying on Kauai.

This place was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation. It’s so nice to be able to walk to downtown and the beach.

The room was clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. It is highly desirable that this unit comes with air conditioning, which is very much needed in Hawaii. The view is impeccable. The location is central to all of Kauai. Getting to any part of the island doesn’t seem very far away. My only complaint is that the television station options are not easy to maneuver and I don’t know if it was available, but I could not get any local TV stations (Honolulu). Otherwise I would highly recommend this rental.

This unit was fantastic in all categories! The ocean view was phenomenal. The unit was beautiful inside with all the amenities one would need. The A/C worked perfectly, also. We could not have possibly asked for a better unit, it was absolutely perfect. If and when we return to Kauai we will definitely rent this unit again. If you are reading this and considering this unit, GO FOR IT! You will NOT be disappointed.

First time ever visiting Hawaii. I can’t imagine a better location and condo to serve as our home base while we explored the many wonders of the Garden Island. Lena was quick to respond to our frequent communications from the start of our reservation until the day we checked out. I would rebook in this location with her without question when we return to Kauai! Mahalo to Lena and Ivan!!

Beautiful condo, the pictures do not do it justice! We were disappointed upon arrival, however, that the pool is under renovations until December.

Loved the place. It was perfect for a vacation. I would definitely come there again. The place was well kept and stocked. It was a great location with the ocean a few feet away from the outside sitting area.

Great place for a beautiful ocean holiday!

This was a wonderful stay. The place was beautiful and felt very homey. The view is spectacular. We could have just sat on the patio for hours. We did all the tourity things and had fun instead. The location is good except you can't make a left turn out of the property and the traffic is quite heavy so it was a little hastle getting out.We enjoyed it so much we want to bring our grown kids next year.

My husband and I recently stayed is here. The place is great and has everything you need. Beach towels, small ice chest and chairs were in the closet. There were also starters of necessities. It is in the Pono Kai resort. We were on the ground floor. Walk right out on the patio (with lounge chair and 4 chairs with table) on to the grass leading to the beach. Easy access to the 6.5 mile or so bike path that we walked each day. There were 2 bikes available in the condo if you like to ride. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance of our condo as well. It was located right in the heart of Kapa’a. We could walk to grocery and shops as well. This place really had it all. The owner was quick to respond when we had a question. We would stay here again in a second!

We had a wonderful stay in Kapaa. Our plans were taking us all over the island and we really were centrally located to get everywhere quickly. The apartment was located in a nice resort with a lot of amenities and easy access to a beachside walking path. Inside it had everything you would need to cook with a fully stocked kitchen, beach with chairs, umbrella and cooler or relax. Our only other wish would be a TV in the bedroom as we like to watch movies before bed. The living room did have a nice TV and a furniture for lounging and dining. We had everything we needed to go out and explore and come “home” and relax. A perfect vacation spot.

I absolutely loved the location and appreciated all the amenities as listed. Everything was exactly as described, which made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. Wished we could have stayed longer.

And a very conscientious host who has everything you may need and a lot of extras to help your stay be the best experience ever!She even had bug spray in the cabinet which helped immensely when we went on impromptu hikes! We had an awesome time.

We had a perfect week in Kauai! The condo's central location allowed us to access all sides of the island with incredible ease. When we weren't hiking the trails or relaxing on the beach, we were enjoying the beautiful view and refreshing breeze from the patio of Lena and Ivan's condo or riding bikes on the path along the coast. The condo was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and comfortable with everything we needed -- ice in the ice maker for the cooler in the closet, beach chairs, snorkel gear, shampoo/conditioner, and so much more. The AC worked great at night; we didn't need it during the day. The bed, pillows, linens, and blackout curtains contributed to our wonderful sleep at night. Some of our favorite things to do in Kauai: hiking the first few miles of the Kalalau Trail to the beach and waterfalls (AMAZING -- will do the whole thing one day!), the Sleeping Giant (close to Pono Kai -- be sure to go beyond the picnic table for a panoramic view of the island), and the Awaawapuhi (DIFFICULT but so worth doing to see the breathtaking Napali Coast). Some of our favorite food stops: Hukilau Lanai (wonderful dinner), Gaylords Plantation (excellent lunch), and JoJo's Shave Ice (the Tropical Dream is so good!!). We also got to experience the food trucks and neat vendors at the First Saturday Art Walk, which was super fun. Finally, we saw at least 15 sea turtles at Po'ipu and an adorable seal at Shipwreck Beach. Thank you, Lena and Ivan for being such gracious hosts!

Operating the TV is way too complicated. We needed two remotes to make it work.

Location was fantastic, beachfront with access to a great trail to walk or bike. Centrally located on the island if that’s what you want, and we did. Easy to get to north, south, airport, etc. Quiet, well-maintained complex with good amenities (we only used pool, nothing else). Our door code didn’t work but local manager was easily reachable and helped immediately. Owner didn’t answer a text on an unrelated question until next day so good that there is a local contact. Great shower, kitchen, supplies, etc. The unit and complex grounds were all clean and nice. Only minor suggestions for improvement:Bikes were a nice perk but need some maintenance- rusty chains and gears. Only two beach towels for Kauai where it’s reasonable to expect people will go to beach or pool daily and things take forever to dry. More beach towels!!Bedroom TV with multiple remotes, no instructions, none of them seem to work. One didn’t even have batteries. A DVD player with a single movie and no remote seems silly. Living room furniture is pretty uncomfortable for evening TV sessions.

This was indeed a remarkable treasure on The Garden Isle. It was a perfect stay and I appreciated having such a wonderful option RIGHT ON THE BEACH! The owners were extremely helpful throughout the process. Centrally located and walkable to a lot of great coffee and dining options (and two grocery stores), I hope to be able to return to paradise some day. Mahalo!

I wanted something special for my wife’s birthday and this place exceeded my wildest dreams. Great location, awesome views and very nicely furnished. The owners were fantastic to work with and I look forward to another visit. Highly recommended this unit

Great place to stay, clean and updat. Loved having the ocean, walking and biking path directly in front of the condo. Highly recommend!

Everything was great except the construction quality of the units. Sound proofing from the floor above you is bad. Tenants above can be heard walking, sliding chairs and furniture, using bathroom, etc. At times it sounded like a remodel was happening above us. In the future I would only stay in a top floor unit. Adjoining renters expressed the same concerns.

We have rented this unit several times. It’s right on the ocean and the bike path so there’s always something to watch. Everything you need is provided and everything is in good condition. We also love funky downtown Kapaa. Mermaids has the best food in town and you can’t go wrong at Pono market for authentic Hawaiian cuisine. Go early as they sell out quickly.

Lena provides so many extras like Kleenex, shampoo and conditioner, soap, ziplocks, laundry soap in addition to beach chairs, cooler snorkel gear and anything else you might need for a beach day. She responded immediately whenever we had any questions. Perfect unit except for the noisy neighbors upstairs on our last night. Stomping around until 2 am. Should have gone upstairs and knocked on their door but just tried to sleep through it.

Super cosy apartment with a breathtaking view to the sea. By a short walk you reach coffee shops and bars.

Loved the Condo! I went with my elderly mom and being on the first floor and having A/C was perfect. Had a comfortable bed and everything we needed. The only negative was the fact that the drinkware took up 3 cupboards (over 50 glasses) so there was no cupboard space for groceries. Other than that, it was perfect.

This was a great place for a visit to Kaua’i. Beautiful unit in a nice resort, with convenient access to the bike path and ocean. The included bikes and beach gear are a nice touch as well. Lots of good local restaurants & food trucks, and the general location is central with easy access to the northern and southern parts of the island.

We've stayed at Pono Kai several times and this unit was the nicest of all having been remodeled and being on the ground level puts the Ocean seconds away and such a beautiful view.

We loved the condo - it was beautiful and the photos don’t do it justice. The place was very clean, the kitchen had everything you would want. The host has thought of everything! And the view was gorgeous! The property was also very nice and well maintained. The location on the island was super convenient for exploring the entire island. We would definitely stay here again!!

This is our second stay at this property. It is clean, bright and in an ideal location. Well stocked with food prep utensils. The shower is large and easy to use. Would stay here again.

We had such an amazing long stay at the condo. The condo has everything you could imagine. Beach chairs, floats, boards, bikes, it really had it all! The kitchen has plenty of great pots and pans as well as other awesome utensils. We would absolutely stay here again.

A perfect spot to enjoy our wedding anniversary! Enjoyed every minute of the morning sunrises right off the lanai! Excellent property and close to downtown!

We loved this condo so much! I came with my Mom for our annual mother-daughter trip. The ocean front, walkout lower level was exactly what we wanted.The condo itself was exactly as described and pictured. It actually felt like you were staying at a friend’s house instead of a rental. The owners even left bikes to use although we didn’t because it rained almost constantly while we were there. The complex was very nicely manicured and the staff were constantly cleaning. Check out time is 10am and our flight was at 10pm, the complex has a hospitality room available where you can store your luggage and take a shower before heading to the airport. It was an unexpected and very useful amenity! The town of Kapaa has a lot of dining options and shops that are easy walking distance, it was nice not having to drive everywhere. We loved everything about this condo and would definitely come back!

Great stay minus the cra,y weather

This condo was a perfect little place to stay. The pictures are exactly as it looks. Welcoming bottle of wine and a note from the owner. View was amazing. The condo was well supplied with everything needed even waters in the refrigerator which was a pleasant surprise after a very long day of travel. The bed was very comfortable, we normally sleep in a king however it didn’t bother us at all sleeping in the queen. AC works great, fans work great. There is nothing the owners haven’t thought of when preparing for their guests. Highly recommend.

The room was great. Everything was incredibly clean and as the pictures showed. The hosts left a bottle of wine and a note to welcome us. The location is a great place to get to anywhere onthe island easily, and the town of Kapaa has a multitude of places to eat and enjoy yourself in walking distance. Checked all the boxes for our first trip to Kauai. Location was convenient to visits to all areas of the island. Loved the proximity to the bike path. Wish there was a luggage cart at the building. I saw some at the main checkin area but it’s somewhat inconvenient given the location of the unit. Otherwise, everything we needed was in the unit and more. Highly recommend!

If you want to stay at the Pono Kai in Kauai and there are only 2 of you, this is the place to stay. You have a direct, unobstructed view of the ocean. The sunrise every morning is an experience worth getting up for. The unit has every necessity needed for a vacation rental, which was nice: no need to rent beach chairs, an umbrella or a drink cooler. The unit provided those items. All in all, I rate this unit with a 5🌟

My husband and I wanted to stay in Kapaa due to its central location. The condo was nicely updated and had everything we needed plus more. Great oceanfront location! Enjoyed the sunrises, ocean breezes and sounds of the waves. BBQ area was perfect. Condo was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We will stay here again!

The owners have supplied everything you’d possibly need to enjoy your stay! Lovely furnishings! Also, the location is very convenient to travel on the island, plus a short walk to the town of Kapa’a.

We had a fantastic week in this unit. The kitchen was well outfitted with cooking equipment and well stocked with necessities. The addition of recreational items was very much appreciated. It was apparent that the hosts have provided a well thought out and planned unit and if we return to this location, we would definitely try to book this unit again.

Rented this condo 6 nights for our honeymoon in February, we were greeted with leis and champagne in a clean/updated condo. It was more than we could ask for with the price we paid. Owners were very nice and communication was excellent through the process and during our stay. Kauai is beautiful and this relaxing little condo on the beach helped contribute to our perfect honeymoon. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommended.

This is the second time we stayed at this rental. It just gets better and better.Used the bikes this time to ride the 10 mile walking path along the coast. Breath taking views. The kitchen is well stocked with every tool you could need. The unit was spotless and everything in good repair. Being so close to the ocean is the best. Also love funky town Kapaa. Many good restaurants and Pono Market (where the locals go) has authenic delicious Hawaiiian food. Location Half way between Princeville and Poipu is ideal.

Property was extremely clean and well stocked. Beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards and bikes too. Everything you need for a relaxing week. Lots of traffic in Kaapa but fortunately drivers are very willing to stop and let you in or allow you to make your turn. We will be returning.
