Ilikai Hotel, Ocean Front, Hip Real 1 BDR, City View, Best Surf in Waikiki

Very pleasant stay. Parking was 45/day - valet only. The valet folks were great. Unit was clean and fresh. The extra space with the 1 bedroom was very much needed with 3 adults (2 parents and an adult child). The bed is a fold out futon but it was very comfortable. The bedroom had a full sized bed - a little small but very comfy. The kitchen was upgraded with everything you need and the bathroom shower had the best water pressure (no tub). Only con is that the shower nozzle dripped continuously.

Jana is an awesome person. She answered all our questions and took care of everything. I will definitely recommend her.

Room amenities are poorly maintained, the building is beautiful and the view from the room is too, however many areas in the room are not ideal. The couch & pillows are dirty, smelly and have leftover food stains from perhaps previous visits. The pillows of the couch/seats are bird feathered and smell terrible. They are also not best for me due to a few feathers that the pillows would release. Same with bed pillows… The bed is sunk in the middle and it was so uncomfortable. The only AC window unit is located in the living room did not reach out to the bedroom so, the room stay was always warmer and less comfortable. That same AC unit when turned on smelled like mold/mildew… I think the filter needed a cleaning or a change. The rug in the living room has other pieces of rug underneath and shifted so easily and folded, we tripped once and luckily did not hit anything hard. The shower faucet leaked and had to be shut so tightly due to a lot of calcium build up, then it was so hard to open again for use. I always visit Oahu 2-3 times per year to get away from my on going cancer battle, so I had booked this room in hopes of a great stay, my only daughter accompanied me as it was also her 20th bday celebration and we took her 8 month old son (my grandson), we were all so happy to be celebrating together life, love & the baby… but definitely the stay in this room was not an ideal experience. The owner accused, charged me 50 for a trash bag in the hallway. We would not recommend.

I cannot say enough. This property was so clean and comfortable.The affordability made it possible for us to come to Hawaii. The bed is very comfortable and the host made everything very easy. Thank you Janna this was a trip we will never forget.

Had a wonderful time. Conveniently located near the beach, and other attractions in Honolulu. The place was very clean and had everything I needed. Love the balcony with comfy chairs for relaxing.

I enjoyed this place and would definitely stay again! I gave a 4 star rating due to having to pump water from the ac pan and the shower dripped a little(not a complaint at all, just mentioning it for the next tenant). This is something that you don’t find out until you get your check in instructions. The place had everything that we needed and was close to restaurants, grocery store and great shopping. Bedding was super comfy, nice appliances, hot water, smart tv(need one in the bedroom- personal opinion). This is our 2nd stay at Ilekai and it’s definitely not our last.

Shower head leaked. Kitchen sink faucet was hard to turn. Glass slider door hard to open. Outside furniture had bird droppings on it. Couldn't figure out streaming on TV. Otherwise satisfactory.

Was not 2 sofa beds as listed. Was an air mattress and a futon. Sheets were dirty. Front doors locks didn't all work. Door looks like it's falling apart. Walls were dirty. Shower leaked the entire stay. Bathroom smelled like sewage. Host was rude did not acknowledge the fact that she messed up on her listed an stated beds that were non existent.

This condo is located within walking distance to everything you would want…the hotel has a restaurant, ice cream parlor and other cute amenities…these units are old, but it is decorated funky and elegant…there could be some updates to the bathroom shower, which leaked. Excellent communication with owner…would not hesitate to stay here again!

Had a great stay in Waikiki. The apartment was clean, fully appointed, and our host was very easy to communicate with. She ensured that we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed our time together where we had easy access to the beach and bus route.If I had a negative comment, it would be that the previous people did not clean the dish ware or silverware very thoroughly. The kitchen was well equipped so that was a big bonus.

Outstanding view at night. The location is close to the beach. There are a lot of onsite shops and places to get food. I would not hesitate to return here again. We loved it.

Nice quiet place to sray that is close to most things. Very good if you have a car as there is area with free parking from 5 am to 10pm and then metered parking at 1 per hour.

It was okay. Very noisy area so no sleep until about 3am. Could hear everything…drunk people hooting and hollering, loud motorcycles, revving engines, etc. Definitely a dated property; sliding doors to bedroom and bathroom were janky, lock to outdoor patio rusty, etc. Futon was hard as a rock even with wgg crate topper. Had to use blow up mattress for one person. We were not given any toilet paper so immediately had to go to store. It was okay, not terrible but definitely not the Hilton.

Fantastic apartment with great city views - road noise not bad at all. Beds are comfortable and our two adult kids slept on the sofa bed and the blow up mattress. Host has been great dropping off extra linen. And topping up toilet rolls etc. kitchen has all that you would need to cook.

Janna was great! The condo was exactly as advertized, very clean, well appointed and in a great location.

We were here for three nights and found it as advertised. Very good location, close to the beach, and accommodations, though tight for 3 adults, were comfortable. Check in was smooth as was check out. It is beach equipped and that is a plus. AC worked well, just needed to empty the tray in the morning. Overall very good. There was a fire on the 11th floor and we had to evacuate, 18 floors is a lot, but the fire department was quickly on site and the hotel staff readily available so no issues. I would stay here again.

My husband and I booked a trip to Oahu for our 20th wedding anniversary, from check in to check out we loved this beautiful rental. Nice 1 bedroom condo in Waikiki. Clean and comfortable with everything you need. On the 18th floor. Has a pool. Walking distance to beach, cafes, restaurants and beach

This property is all about location (bet you didn't guess that from the title). It's located next to Kahanamoku Beach and is walking distance to many stores, restaurants, Ala Wai Harbor and the convention center. We didn't rent a car for our 9 days there and never regretted it. We did take a taxi one day over an Uber and did regret that. Don't make that mistake. The Beach is protected and does have some rocks but there were also sea turtles swimming around so that was really cool. Boat charters are walking distance away (recommend The Adventure Boat). We actually found the only "cheap" restaurant in Waikiki (Pizza Pie). One pizza and bread for less than $30 that fed 3 people. As for the condo, it's very clean and nicely setup. There is privacy between the bedroom and living room. The lānai is great with views of the city and mountains. What's really great is you get afternoon shade so it's usable. All lunches and one dinner spent here. Owner has a ton of beach stuff available (towels, snorkeling equipment, chairs, umbrella) and all were used. We even added to the collection. The living room has a futon (not a trundle) that our 26-year old son used. No issues. Kitchen has equipment and everything worked well. Space can be small for more than 3 people but we had no issues. Communication with Janna was easy. Cons - Window A/C does leak at times and needs to be monitored. Sliding doors can be difficult to move. Elevators can be warm. Pros - Everything Else! We will be back!

We had a great stay. It is very well located, we had everything we need for a confortable stay (towels, beach chairs, dishes and pots). Never slept in sheets that soft! The rail broke in the shower. Janna got it fixed within an hour! It is a bit noisy from the street bellow, noisy bikers, emergency cars, but the view from the lanai at night is beautiful. I recommand this property. My husband and I stayed here for two weeks for our wedding and honeymoon and it was amazing. The check-in and check-out process was super easy and the property was exactly as described, if not better. The host left us not one but two notes welcoming us to the room; as well as, some candies and a Kukui Nut lei. The view was so so beautiful and it was honestly in the perfect location for us. The hotel itself is right next door to where they shoot off the fireworks and the free hula show in the courtyard was great. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again.

This property was amazing and the host was very responsive!

I had a couple of issues, but overall it was okay. I know there have been complaints before about the AC pan having to be emptied so I expected that, but I have to say there needs to be some sort of solution to this. It was an issue that even during the night (with the AC on) we had to get up in the middle of the night and go out on the balcony and use the shop vac that was set up conveniently next to the AC and suck the water out of the pan to avoid it overflowing. Then in the morning, I'd go get the full shop vac that I filled in the middle of the night and take it in the shower and dump it. This seemed ridiculous to have to do each night. I find it hard to believe there's no alternative--either an AC unit that does not condensate or if that's not an option, then a plumber needs to come in and create a sealed pan that has a small hose which runs back into the condo and into the drain plumbing in the kitchen or something. Also, the shower dripped. If we turned it VERY hard it would mostly stop eventually, but again it was an inconvenience. Finally, the AC unit was so loud when you're sitting on the balcony that you couldn't hear. It was an issue when talking to each other and it really took away from the experience of enjoying the view and city. Otherwise, it was well stocked and comfortable overall and the building was nice and in a great location. Thanks!

Owner went above and beyond for our needs and had lots of tips.our daughter had a rental was very plain Janna’s 1803 was designed beautifully.

Janna has gone above and beyond with amenities at the property, it has everything you need and more. Close walking distance to Ala Moana centre. Host was very fast at responding and extremely helpful. Overall amazing stay, we had a great experience. Thank you so much! :-)

The property is adequate for two with sliding glass doors in the bedroom and living room, and walkable to most places in Waikiki.

I would not recommend that more than two people stay at this property. It was very dated and very noisy. Although people that are used to city living may not mind, it was very difficult to sleep here. If you plan on using the futon in the living room, bring your own pillows and blanket because there is only one flat pillow and a blanket with a huge hole in it.

The property was cleaned and well kept. Communication with host was great. In the property explanation it advertised two queen beds. There was only one. Everything else was great

Janna’s attention to detail shines in this comfortable 1-br suite. Beach towels, chairs and umbrella make it easy to spend a day at the nearby beach in comfort. Balcony has great city views and is a lovely spot to unwind after a hard day of doing nothing at the beach. Close to countless restaurants and shops, including dine overpriced ones in the lobby (walk 500 feet to ABC store instead). We will be back.

Upon arrival on March 1st we were moved to the Ilikai Marina due to alleged "plumbing issues". We were told it would be for the first 5 nights of our stay. We went to the original unit the next morning to get some beach chairs and Orkin Pest Control were there. We noticed that all the linens were in bags in the bathroom. We immediately texted Janna and asked if there were bed bugs- she said no and they were there for a preventative spraying. I told her that we were not comfortable going back to this unit on Wednesday and we asked to get a refund on the remainder of our stay and we would find a place. She said no refund. So we went back on Wednesday despite our better judgement and that night my daughter got bit by bed bugs. We were mortified!! We texted the host right away and she said we needed to call VRBO. She would not even call us. We first off called Orkin and got them to send us the report and sure enough they were there on March 2nd to spray for bed bugs. The host continues to deny it despite all the evidence we have presented. We have photos, reports and text message and email correspondence to back up everything we have said. All of it was sent to VRBO. Also the suite presents much better in the photos than in person. The couch is very uncomfortable and it is held together by a bungy cord. I am sure she will respond to this saying we want a free vacation etc as she has done with others but that is not the case. We can back up everything.

What you see from the web is what you get. Nice condo, clean, had most of everything we needed. The owner Janna, is wonderfull she is always there for you and with in no time. Which it was great. We really had a great time. Thx.

We arrived and the power had been out for sometime. The host was aware and did not inform us. Our first evening we had to go out to eat and my groceries that I ordered all spoiled. The unit is dated and small. Many issues with things being sort of taped together. The ac is a wall unit that they do not want you to run while you’re not in the room. Which is unfortunate to return to a hot room and then it makes the main room very cold and the actual bedroom very warm. Parking at the property is very expensive. This is not what I would consider a kid friendly unit. The tables are all glass and my two small children barely fit on the pull out couch, which is smaller than a futon. Because of the outage at the building there were no other units available in the area for us to rebook. This was very disappointing. The power did return late our first evening.

Please review building parking policy. It’s quite confusing and parking staff is unfriendly. Do not park in the building prior review and understand the policy.

Would definitely stay again--great host--very responsive and helpful, lots of amenities, and a great location!! The only improvement would be to replace the couch--very uncomfortable even for sitting.
