Oceanview 2BR Condo at Makahuena | A/C, Multi-Level Poipu Retreat, Resort Amenities

We did clean the towels. Your view was great as far as being close to the water and having mostly what is needed to cook in a kitchen. It was spacious and the beds are very comfy. It is very hard to open the front door and there are a few upgrades that could be done through out the house. Overall the stay was pleasant.

This VRBO has it all. Great location. Check out the lava bridge right behind the property. Everything you need like a home away from home. Leaving the windows and doors open for natural ac. Easy check in. Rent this place and you wont be sorry!

We had a lovely stay at the villas! We had just one other couple with us, and we had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fairly well stocked and clean, and it was so convenient to have a washer and dryer in the villa. We had one issue with one of the window a/c units, but a call to the agency got it fixed that day. Thank you for an enjoyable stay on beautiful Kauai!

Nice and spacious unit, very clean. Had all the amenities and parking was easy. Walked to Brenneckes and Poipu beach as well as a couple restaurants. Good walking path behind the unit. Would recommend.

Having the greenbelt path and the shore path nearby made it very easy to get a lot of walks in during our stay. The proximity to Brennecke's & Kalapaki Joe's made for easy access to lunch/Happy Hour/dinner. We really enjoyed the views of the ocean while hanging out on the balcony during rainy periods. Unit was true to pictures & description. Great stay overall.

Overall our experience at this property was okay. We arrived to find the air conditioner exhaust broken, which appeared to have been broken for some time and had to have someone come in to fix. Our white towels did not appear clean, and were rewashed upon arrival. The bed frame in the main bedroom did not feel stable and could use reinforcement. There were bugs and uncleaned areas on the floor near the fan in the corner. The curtains were also not clean. The patio was also cover in some kind of black power substance around the edges. The washing machine was plumbed backwards and I ended up shrinking a pair of shorts. When the machine was turned to cold it filled with hot water and when the machine was turned to hot it filled with cold. Also, while I realize, the rain could have lead to this issue, we ended up finding mushrooms and mold growing from the tile behind the main bathroom door - quite telling about the cleanliness of the property. I found the listing misleading by stating there was A/C - you had to read more carefully into the listing to find out they were window units in the 2 bedrooms with no A/C in the main space. Photos of the new construction is also not updated in the listing which blocks some what is a beautiful ocean view. Luckily the kitchen felt clean and was well equipped but otherwise we were quite disappointed with this rental overall and would not recommend.

The pictures were so misleading for this unit. The ocean view no longer matches the listing. The kitchen cabinets doors were dirty around the handles and the floor needs to be replaced. The whole unit was a disappointment. It felt tired and not accurately represented in the listing.

Management company was excellent. Emails and texts were promptly answered. The location was fantastic and the view was beautiful. The not-so-good: the entire unit was very dated and needs some improvements: cracked tiles in the kitchen, scuffed and nicked furniture, rusted door knobs and appliances, bathroom fixtures pitted, baseboards coming off, etc. But everything was very clean, including the linens, towels, bedsheets and pillows. Overall I’d probably recommend it but would provide caveats.

Host were wecoming and we were very comfortable there. The dishwasher is not anchored and it tips forward when you open the door.

Great location. Great views. Delightful breezes. All was in good condition. The house was just right for our stay.

The location was absolutely perfect and beautiful! The AC units in the bedrooms made sleeping very comfortable. We enjoyed the ocean view and walks on the rocks .

Very clean and well equipped for vacationing, beds are comfortable. Would be nice to have towel bars in the bathrooms for washcloths and hand towels. 2 steep flights of stairs to the front door, plus another to bedroom level will make staying difficult for anyone with knee, back, or mobility issues, but the ocean view from the balcony was lovely.

Overall a great experience. No elevator and stairs required make this not a great option for the mobility impaired. But, a great location to use as a home base for exploring the island. No A/C in the living area but cross breeze makes it pleasant, just open the front door.

I had an excellent stay at this location. Everything was described as it was. The team renting the unit reached out multiple times during our stay to make sure our accommodations were being met. Would recommendMahalo

We loved staying here for the second half of our honeymoon. We appreciated how everything you needed was there, easy to find, and offered more space. Even more incredible is the proximity to the coast to watch the waves crash in. We would definitely return here if we find ourselves back in Kauai!

The location of this condo was perfect. It had everything we needed for our Kauai vacation. Kristin stayed in touch to make certain everything was going well and was very responsive when we had a question. Thanks for helping make our trip so enjoyable.

This location is perfect. Right next to a wonderful walking/running path along the ocean. Near beaches. And the ocean view is great. There is construction and I did not see that until I had already booked it. They do tell you there is construction, at the very bottom tucked away. The pictures that are shown are extremely outdated. Again I like this location I just didn’t like the listing and how it wasn’t more apparent.

This was a wonderful VRBO with access to the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail. It is also only less than 5 minutes to drive to Poipu Beach and shipwreck beach. The unit had 4 beach chairs and three pairs of snorkels and fins available for use. The listing does say partial ocean view but the picture shows different, so just realize you have a partial ocean view from a balcony. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was awesome. Within walking distance to the beach. Beautiful view of the sunrise from the lanai. We watched the sunrise and sunset each day.

Location was perfect for the conference I was attending at the Grand Hyatt. I could walk along the beach to the conference daily. Views from the living room were great. Saw many whales. The supplies from the kitchen to beach items were fantastic. The place was dated, but was not a problem. The pictures were not accurate, that grassy area is now all dirt due to construction. I think they should update the photos to give the current look. This place is all about location. I would stay again.

A very pleasant spot on the south shore. The condo worked well for our family and sunset viewing with the neighbors was very pleasant. We even saw the green flash one night.

The overall condo condition was good. The bathrooms and kitchen had been updated and nicely equipped. There was newer furniture throughout. The building itself has issues. Primary bedroom view window has a broken seal causing it to look hazy and did not have a screen. The millwork, doors and floors were tired and mismatched. My biggest issue is the pictures in the listing are not reflective of the current construction taking place on the property before the ocean views….there is no longer green grass but dirt and big machines. There is a construction notice buried deep in the listing that is easy to miss.

This is a beautiful property that is well maintained, in an exceptional location. It is stocked with everything you may need and was immaculate.. The management company was very pleasant to deal with and very accommodating.

We’re a family of four who stayed here for 7 nights in August 2024. Overall, the condo was very good. What we liked: - Location and View: Stunning sunrises and sunsets on the southernmost point of Kauai. Sunrises from the lanai were spectacular. The nearby lava rocks offered great views of the sunsets and waves. - Amenities: Included 4 beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas (1 was broken), a backpack cooler, and basic toiletries. - Interior: Spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. Upstairs bedrooms were roomy, and the A/C units, though noisy, kept the rooms cool. Downstairs was adequately cooled by opening the sliding door and using the ceiling fan. The master bedroom bed was especially comfortable. - Parking: Conveniently close to the unit with ample parking spots. Two flights of stairs to the front door were manageable. - Check-in: We were provided clear instructions via email for checking in, which included a code to access the physical key in the lock box. Couldn't have been any smoother. What could’ve been better: - Dated Interior: The condo felt a bit outdated compared to the pictures. Some wear and tear was evident, but not a major issue. - Construction: Ongoing construction next to the property affected the view and created noise, particularly on weekdays. It’s best to plan outings in the morning to avoid this. - Minor Details: Not enough bath towels and the hand soap was too watery. Overall, we were happy with the condo and would definitely stay here again.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay! It was exactly as described and then some. It was clean, well maintained, and quiet.

My wife and I decided to take one last vacation just her and I before we had our baby, and really enjoyed our stay! It rained 4 out of the 7 days we were there, so we spent a lot of time inside the condo. The layout was nice, and the views are beautiful, even despite the construction. The construction didn’t bother us at all. Certain portions of the unit had been remodeled, but the unit was still fairly outdated, which you can’t see in the listing pictures. That aside we would definitely stay here again! The AC unit in the bedroom was an absolute life saver for my pregnant wife! The downstairs got a little warm at times but it wasn’t an issue. The location of this condo being just minutes of walking distance to go watch the waves crash is incredible! We would definitely recommend anyone stay here!

Communication was excellent and the location was nice along a coastal walk. The winds in the area create a dusty film on the windows and at present (April 2024) the views don’t look like the photo. There is active construction going on (as mentioned in listing but not shown) so you see see buildings going up between you and the ocean.

This property was perfect for our stay! It had everything we needed; plus an amazing view from the balcony! The few times I contacted the rental company they were very responsive and helpful. I would absolutely rent here again!
