We have a STVR (short term vacation rental) permit issued by the County of Hawaii.
You'll love our large, heated pool with travertine decking around the pool for the ultimate luxury. Cooks dream kitchen with mahogany cabinets and granite counters.
Picture yourself lounging around the pool with the huge blue ocean always in sight or reading on one of the many the lanai's. Imagine one gorgeous sunset after another, framed by the palm lined coastline and the lights of Kona. Enjoy them with a glass of wine surrounded by your family and friends. But the views are not just from the pool, they are front and center in almost every room. Our home contains Tommy Bahama-style tropical furnishings and tropical art on almost every wall.
Sleeps up to 10. We welcome kids, and they love to play in the extra large pool! (But should be supervised for safety and be respectful of neighbors with noise.)
Your stay at Kona View House is also environmentally friendly, since we have 33 grid-tied solar panels which produce all the power we use!

The house is on 2 floors. Upstairs is the kitchen, living room with big TV, dining room, 2 public lanai's, bedroom with king bed, lanai and en-suite bath, den/bedroom with pull out memory foam queen bed, and powder room. Downstairs are two bedrooms with 1 full bathroom in the hallway between them. Both bedrooms downstairs walk out to the lower lanais and the pool. One has a queen bed, the other has a queen and a twin bed.
We are centrally located, just a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. Everything from Wal-mart and Safeway to the cute downtown shops and restaurants of Kailua-Kona can be reached in just a few minutes. You can even be snorkeling at one of the local beaches in just a few minutes. The airport is 15-20 minutes north, the mega resorts and beaches are 30 minutes north, and the Volcano is 2.5 hours south.
In terms of weather, because we are on the side of a mountain, the weather varies by elevation. Down toward the water it is very hot with little breeze. You would often want air conditioning at that elevation. Up at 1200-1500 feet it's quite cool; homes have fireplaces and residents wear long pants. Most people believe 600-800 feet elevation is ideal, and our home is at 650 feet. It's warm enough to feel that you are in Hawaii, but almost never gets too warm. In the evening, cool air comes down the mountain, and you can control the temperature in the house by opening and closing the front door to allow this air in or not. (Note that up north where the resorts are, it is often quite windy, but here we only get light breezes.) We do have 7 ceiling fans and large windows for warm days.
Solar pool heat is included, and if the sun is not cooperating additional heat is available for a small fee.
Many of our guests report that they had all kinds of plans to visit places around the island, but they actually spent a lot of their time at the house, floating in the pool, hanging out on the lanai and watching the sunset, not wanting to leave. This is the experience we try to provide.
Certainly there are many vacation rentals you can choose from, but we hope you will choose ours so we can share this magical place with you. There are places that are less expensive, but we have yet to see something comparable to ours in terms of views, amenities, luxury, and style, for less. Don't forget all the ways we will save you $ on your vacation! You can cook your meals at home, and save money on rental costs for beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, and coolers.

Note: We do not allow parties; only guests staying at the home, and others as pre-authorized. There are two webcams in the yard that we only turn on if we have neighbor complaints about a party or noise.

Good Neighbor Policy
(a) Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise from the STVR shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. (b) Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would otherwise be associated with a residential area. (c) Guest vehicle shall be parked in the designated parking area. (d) The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes.
We have outdoor cameras only. The backyard camera will only be turned on if we get complaints from neighbors, or with your permission if we need to view the pool etc. We occasionally check the front camera for security reasons.

This house is Amazing! Plenty of space we especially enjoyed the ocean view, wonderful pool and the outdoor patio with plenty of furniture by dining room. I really appreciate the kitchen is well stocked, lots of dishes and silverware. The beds were comfortable parking was great. We all felt very safe in this location-very nice neighborhood. Close to Kona. Highly recommend!

What an incredible house for a vacation! Our party consisted of family ages 14 to 69 and everyone agreed this home was top notch. We needed a 4 bedroom home and we were so pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was in each room, couldn’t hear anyone snoring from the other bedrooms, haha! This house has everything you will need, the kitchen has it all, and we cooked there everyday. We appreciated the ability to do laundry as well. The pool was perfect and we appreciated Cindi adjusting the pool temp for us. Loved the geckos and beautiful flowers outside. The sunsets from this home are incredible! I am so glad we decided to rent a home rather than go to a hotel, this is the perfect home in the Kona area. The beds were so comfortable and bathrooms had everything you’d need as well. Cindi was great to communicate with the entire time as well. Thanks so much for a great stay!
The house was fantastic. Great kitchen with anything you’d need to cook while these. Check-in was simple.
The home was exactly as described. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with necessities, and the extra beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, water shoes, beach towels) was very nice to have! The pool was nice, heated to the perfect temperature. But most of all, we all loved the outdoor patio seating and the views. We would absolutely stay here again.
Our whole family LOVED this place!! Pictures absolutely don’t capture just how incredible the view is from every room! The house is so beautiful, comfortable, and was large enough for our group of 9 to easily enjoy! There are multiple balconies, the pool is amazing, and the setup is perfect to cook and grill at home. We got very spoiled with grilling and having dinner by the pool overlooking the ocean. Cindi was also incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating with our travel times. Cannot recommend this place enough! Don’t think about it - just book it!
Had a great vacation with our sons and their wives. Spent a lot of time playing golf, but while on property everything worked well and was very comfortable- best view on the island. Cindi was great- easy and quick communication- very accommodating in every regard. We would definitely stay here again next time in Kona. Mahalo, Cindi!
This house is easily a 15/10 - there is nothing not to love! It is clean, in a great location, the pool was perfect, but if you are looking for a view, then look no further because the view here cannot be beat! This was the vacation of a lifetime for us, in large part because of this home. We plan to return as soon as we can, if this is available, you will not regret staying here! The master bedroom was so beautiful, the kitchen so spacious and well equipped. Everything was laid out so well, lots of instructions and communications. We really felt at home. We had 7 people and there was lots of room for everyone. The most beautiful home I have ever stayed in, thank you so much for sharing it with us!!
Cindi's place in Kona comes exactly as advertised and was perfect for our multigenerational family holiday. The house and its amenities completely met our needs and expectations. Of particular note, the kitchen supplies and pantry were exceptionally well provisioned and the beach and pool accessories and toys were plentiful and well-used by our group.
The home was very comfortable and well-equipped and communication with the owner was easy/smooth. My husband and I traveled with my 82 year old mother and our young adult sons. The beds were comfortable. My mom took the master suite so that she did not have to go up and down the stairs and my husband and I were comfortable in the queen bed downstairs. The swimming pool was awesome and the views of the sunsets from the pool and lanais were stunning. We cooked up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. There is a coffee grinder and every utensil you could want. The outside grill worked really well. I cooked fish purchased at the local fish market, steaks, pork tenderloin, baked cookies and made a pie. We enjoyed family movie nights (the tv has Roku and we signed into our personal accounts), showing our young men movies they had not seen before (such as Rainman and the Untouchables). Oh, and we did leave the house occasionally to check out the beaches, volcano (which was erupting) and took a whale watching boat trip. It was an amazing trip and we came back refreshed/renewed. You will not regret staying at this wonderful home.
We had an incredible stay at this lovely house on the Big Island of Hawaii! The property was just as stunning as shown in the photos, featuring three spacious bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen that made dining in a pleasure. The open-concept dining and living areas led out to a beautiful balcony with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoying a cup of coffee in the mornings and winding down with a drink in the evenings on that balcony was truly magical. The large pool was a fantastic addition to our experience, providing a refreshing respite after a day of exploring. We did encounter some minor issues with the pool at the start, but our host was exceptionally responsive and addressed our concerns promptly and effectively, which we greatly appreciated. The neighborhood was not only safe but also conveniently located near Kona, making it easy to access a variety of excellent restaurants. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway!
House has everything you can possibly need. Beautiful views, great space, lots of fans which help. It was humid so made it feel very hot. But we knew that going in July would be that way. The pool is a great way to cool off. 9 Beach chairs and 2 umbrellas along with snorkel equipment was great to have. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay
Our entire family enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home in Hawaii. Plenty of room for us to spread out - but lots of spots (pool/lanai/living & dining room) for us to be together. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with every type of pan/cooking utensil we needed, and the wide array of beach necessities (towels/chairs/coolers) made our day trips that much more enjoyable! We traveled here for my 40th birthday with extended family. We had older adults with mobility issues as well as two children in our travel party. The house was perfect for our group. It is only about 10 minutes away from downtown Kona and a short drive to Keauhou. Well stocked large kitchen. The best part about this house is the view! Gorgeous ocean views from almost every room. We could see whales breaching from the lanai. The pool was clean, and the children loved the provided pool toys. This house has everything you could ask for in a vacation home. Great communication from the host. Best birthday ever!
We absolutely loved staying in this home! It was perfect for our family plus a few friends. The pool is amazing, the view to die for, and the kitchen was really well stocked. Loved every minute!
