Property Overview
This 1 BR Condo is a lovely, private, even romantic, GARDEN VIEW CORNER UNIT, with a good partial OCEAN VIEW. Two walls of glass look out from the living room to private, tropical gardens and to the West a partial ocean view. Lanai's are on the West and North sides surrounding the unit. It is the only true 1 BR unit at Kona Shores (separate BR). The unit is also in the most PRIVATE AREA of the complex--the northwest corner of the facility--furthest from Alii Dr. and nearest the ocean. Kitchen and Bathroom have been completely REMODELED in 2015 and 2016. Wi-Fi is provided, and there are 2 wall air conditioners; one in living room near kitchen--the 2nd in the bedroom. The OCEAN-SIDE POOL is perhaps the best for size and View along Alii Drive.
Enjoy DINING at the corner of the west and north covered patios and watching green day geckos in the golden-fruited palms and plants very nearby. A little breeze keeps the 80 degree plus weather comfortable in the afternoons. Then take a dip down at the OCEAN-SIDE POOL that perches on a lava point, or walk to the sea on the concrete path along the pool to watch the sunset to the West or over Kailua pier at the other side of the Bay.
This condo features a new tile entry and new tile flooring in the SEPARATE ROOM KITCHEN and bathroom. Granite counter-tops surround all sinks and provide surfaces for all cabinets. The good quality wood cabinets are new in each of the rooms. In the kitchen there is a new large refrigerator, a newer gas stove, a microwave, coffee-maker and a complete complement of kitchen utensils, plates, etc. The kitchen window looks out on the end of the West Lanai.
The LIVING ROOM has two walls of glass (North and West) looking out at the private view of tropical gardens. On the North there is 6 ft. of Ginger and Palms, then 30 ft of sloping down landscaping of property next to ours. LR furniture includes a padded, rattan sofa and loveseat; a flat-screen smart TV, a closet, and shelves for books. Air conditioner, ceiling fan, and a floor fan (if needed) keep it cool in this comfortable unit. This 1st floor unit is cooler than roof-top 2nd floor units due to the extra "insulation".
The separate Bedroom has a Cal-King bed, a chest of drawers, an air conditioner, a ceiling fan, and a GLASS WALL AND PATIO DOOR looking out on the North tropical garden area. The large Bathroom is off of the BR. It has a sink area, a new shower/tub and double closets containing linens and supplies. Also, there is a thick, single Coleman-style air mattresses in the BR closet along with an electric pump system. It can be used for a 3rd guest sleeping in the living room at night and stood up against a wall (behind the sofa) during the day. All linens are provided.
Beach towels, mats, and ice chest are provided. The ASSIGNED parking spot is very nearby, about 6 feet below the unit where only 2 parking spots exist. You'll have no searching for a parking spot. Laundry facilities are very nearby. This is a Non-Smoking unit and Pets are NOT allowed.
The Condo is at Kona Shores, which is 1 mile south of Kailua village (and immediately south of a larger complex, Sea Village) on the OCEAN-SIDE of Alii Drive. The address is 75-6008 Alii Dr., Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.

The condo was very clean, and we had everything we needed to prepare meals, which we did every day. The beach umbrella and chairs were invaluable and appreciated! We had one very minor issue with the TV and/or remote. We couldn’t control the volume with it, and it was stuck on high. My wife stuck a towel underneath the tv and it lowered the volume a bit. Spectrum had some issues, too! I reached out to Glen and got a quick response, but it wasn’t a big issue!
Liked the large living room, very well-stocked kitchen, which included a dishwasher and full refrigerator, separate bedroom with Cal-King bed, wrap-around lanai (since it is a corner unit). The unit is on the first floor so did not have to haul luggage up the stairs. The assigned parking space was always available and is only steps away from the apartment. The laundry room is convenient. Had some questions about operating the TV, and appreciate that Bobbi stopped by to assist.

Communication was excellent and the one request we had while there was handled promptly and with a smile. Thank you Bobbi! Even before our visit, we had to make a reservation change for unforeseen personal reasons, and Glen was most helpful with that.The unit was very clean and exactly as advertised. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, especially with the small essentials one usually does not expect to find, such as aluminum foil, plastic containers, zip lock bags, etc., etc.We will be returning to Kailua-Kona, and hope this unit will be available when we do!
This is a charming place. We loved the birds, garden, and view. It was very private. The manager helped with every issue we had. The kitchen and whole unit was well stocked with everything one might need.
The accommodations provided everything you would need to enjoy your time in Kona; king bed, full bathroom, kitchen with all the basic utensils, living room w/ sliders to small outdoor area. Note: The island weather takes a toil on the local buildings and complexes and almost all of these places could stand to be updated.If you are looking for a pristine place to stay, look elsewhere.
This place had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Loved the view, even if it is a partial ocean view the sunsets are amazing and the large garden lanai was so nice! A very short walk to the pool and ocean. Great location for hitting all the sights on the Kona side!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location of this well-appointed corner unit feels secluded. We especially loved the birds and the ocean view. Easy access to west coast beaches and whale watching.

Very nice condo,
Property was very nice and owner was good at communicating. Only thing I did not like was there were ants that kept coming in the kitchen (which I didn't use to eat in, so it was clean) and in the bathroom. No matter how many times I killed them, they came back. Maybe the owner can have someone come spray and that would keep them away.
The condo was very spacious and comfortable, and was clean and well maintained. Parking was convenient with an assigned space very close to the unit. The equipped kitchen had everything we needed and having air conditioning was really nice! The property is a little older but everything seemed well maintained. It’s a little far from the main tourist area of A’ali drive - you’ll probably have to drive to restaurants and shops unless you’re prepared for a long walk to get there, but on the plus side that’s why it’s so quiet on this property. One note is that there’s no door between the bedroom and living area. It’s no problem for a couple but there’s no privacy and wouldn’t work well for families or other groups traveling together. Overall we loved it and would definitely stay here again!
Wonderful location: wonderful condo: perfect location, close to the airport yet far enough to remember you’re on a tropical island.
