Beautiful Pool with Stunning Ocean and Sunset Views

Absolutely loved our stay here. The place is exactly how it looks in the pictures..which is amazing!!! Great location just north of Kona and south of the good beaches. Perfect for avoiding any traffic but still close to all of the amenities. The sunsets from this place are amazing! Which brings us to the generously sized lanai that faces the ocean and those sunsets. We spend many a pleasant evening relaxing and just enjoying outdoor dinners. Also really appreciated the hosts responsiveness and friendliness. Very easy to deal with and I always had the feeling we were well taken care of, and a priority. Sometimes you stay at places that make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Not in this case, Janie is definitely a A 10/10 host. Anyway thank you so much for sharing this amazing place! Also appreciated the pool, definitely not your average pool, obviously a lot of effort put into the design.

Beautiful home in a wonderful and convenient location. Our family of 10 was so comfortable and entertained. We LOVED the pool, enjoyed seeing the wild chickens and thought the frog and bird sounds were a nature sound system. Can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful location, close to the airport, and shopping centers. Pool was a plus on those hot evenings. The sunrises and sunsets were magical from the lanai.

It was perfect for what we needed during our short trip for a family function about 15 minutes away.

We booked this property because it is listed as 4bd. The 4th bedroom is actually just a cut-out off of the kitchen, no door. The house doesn’t have air conditioning but most houses do not in Hawaii. It does get really hot in the bedrooms until around 9/10 pm. The primary bathroom shower is very tiny and needs some repairs. The kitchen is open and nice. We could have used a cookie sheet but we made do. The pool was great and refreshing. Be prepared for the road noise. Sitting out on the Lanai all you hear are the cars zooming by. The view is beautiful so you have to choose what you are willing to sacrifice.

We had a great time! Pool guy came on Wednesday and yard guy came on Thursday. Perhaps swap days. Ended up with grass in the pool from walking back and forth after the yard guy left.

This is an excellent set-up for family or friends. They seem to have an insect problem that probably needs to be addressed but other than that the home is close & convenient to shopping & beaches. It was very enjoyable.

First time to Kona and this house was perfect. We have a family of 6 so it fit us perfectly with an open concept and plenty of outdoor space I would highly recommend and will probably stay here again the next time.

The house was close to the airport (a plus since we had early flights out), near the beaches and the downtown area, and about a half-hour drive to resort golf courses. It was clean and had a spacious, open floor plan for gathering. We had ample room for meal prep, serving, and eating at the roomy counter with barstools. Seating in the living area was comfy and adequate. There were three bedrooms, a bed, and a pull-out sofa for plenty of sleeping areas. Three screened sliding doors, windows, and ceiling fans kept the house cool and comfortable. The outdoor shower helped keep sand from getting into the house after trips to the beach. The big patio had long tables and chairs for dining al fresco and a comfy rattan seating space. The BBQ area was another small gathering place with a table and rattan benches, so the cook wasn't left out of the fun. The pool was a nice alternative to the beach when we wanted to have water fun without sand or leaving the house. We appreciated the washer and dryer. Beach towels, pool toys, and sunblock were available, too. Janie, the host, was friendly, responsive, and professional, and made our stay smooth and easy. If you plan to visit Kona, we highly recommend this property for spacious, comfortable, and relaxing lodging.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kona Palisades. Good location near beaches and not too far from downtown.

The house was plenty big for our group of 6. We enjoyed the pool very much, we swam at least once a day. The outdoor shower was great to get cleaned up after a day at the beach. The house was clean and well appointedThe kitchen had all of the necessary cookware and utensils. The location was nice. Just a 15 minute drive to Kona town with several beaches within 30 minutes. It would be nice to have one or two more stand fans, as the house does get quite warm and takes some time to cool off at night. If we find our way back to the big island, this home would definitely be one we check for availability.

Traveling with my family for a wedding. From pre-booking until checkout host Janie was easy to work with. We didn’t experience any issues during our stay. The house is perfectly located with short drive times into town and to the beaches. Most conveniently being close to the airport. Being from Hawaii this house brought me home again. The view of the ocean and sunset is amazing! The kids enjoyed the pool and the ability to have a good time in a safe space. I would highly recommend this place for families wanting to experience Hawaii or wanting to return home for a visit. This home has everything we needed to be comfortable. We really had a great time here. Very good communication with host. Was a little surprised at location was so close to a very busy road. Otherwise it was fabulous.

Swam twice a day and enjpyed the outdoor patio dining! Very relaxing stay. Beds were so comfortable! Kitchen had everything you need!

Janie was very responsive to our needs and responded to our minor questions quickly. Location is convenient for driving to many places on west side of the island. The street is a bit noisy in the morning but the birds singing help make up for that. Great views and places to be outside. I would definitely come back.

The house was wonderful and in a great location. It was well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool and really appreciated all the pool toys and beach towels and chairs that were available for our use. The outside shower was great for rinsing off. Our host Janie was very helpful and quickly responded to any questions we had.

The location was great, not far from town and not in the busy area of Kona. The property was great for our large family. Only downside was the traffic noise early in the am but otherwise you don't notice it. Quick drive to airport. Great host! Great view of the ocean.

Janie was great to work with. Our grandkids loved the pool. We had 10 of us and each couple got our own rooms and the kids took over the side area and couch. Kitchen was well stocked and big enough for us to move around in for sure. The outdoor rinse off area was very nice when we came back from the beach. We would use it again. Thank you.

This home was perfect!! Has a huge open floor plan to enjoy each others company and the lanai was amazing and has lots of seating space to enjoy the views of the beautiful sunsets and ocean views. Janie was very sweet and alway communicated if we needed anything and check in was great. The front yard was awesome for hanging out at the pool. The kitchen has all the supplies u need for cooking and the beds were comfortable. Close to the airport and not to far from Costco to shop for supplies. Thank you for a beautiful place for my family to enjoyed y the big Island!!

This property was amazing! Everything we expected and more. Cleanliness, amenities and host responsiveness was exceptional. Great for guests of all ages.

Stayed at the property for 3 nights. Large kitchen and living room area. Outside cookout area was relaxing next to the pool. Neighbors were quiet.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home immensely, and would definitely stay here again! The updated photos on the listing and description of this property really helped us visualize how we would use the space during our stay. Communication with our host, Janie was excellent and really helped us feel at ease as we got closer to the time of our visit, during our stay and our departure. The pool was a HUGE draw and we enjoyed it EVERY day and often, multiple times a day! The gazebo beside the pool and the grill were beneficial and convenient. We enjoyed eating our meals on the deck,, with its gorgeous view of the ocean, sights and sounds of the doves, cardinals, sparrows and myna birds and loved seeing all the little anole chameleons amongst the trees. The outdoor toilet and shower were a huge help to have, especially with a preschooler in our group! The washer and dryer was really nice to have as well. Cooking rice, eggs, portugese sausage and bacon every morning was easy, with everything provided in the kitchen and close by stores like Safeway, Target, WalMart, Costco and a little local store up the road. Though the house didn’t have air conditioning (as most houses don’t), all the fans, windows and doors being on and open while we were “home” and the fact that the house sat higher on the hill, kept it cool and breezy. Frogs at night along with traffic noise didn’t really bother us. E komo mai!

Extremely quiet, great location, fun little house to stay in with our kids and grandkids. Would love to return someday.

We loved the pool, lanai, the location, and the space for our big family to cook inside and outside. We aren’t condo vacationers so this home was a good fit for us.

We loved our stay. It was a comfortable place with plenty of room for our family. The location was good and getting around the Kona Coast area from there was fairly easy. The pool and yard was great. We enjoyed our stay there emensely.

My family enjoyed our time on the big island. The house was perfect for us. A relaxing swim after touring the island was a must. We had zero problems and appreciate that janie was going to be there if we did. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking to relax and have a nice, relaxing place to stay. Way better than a hotel! Thank you, janie, for a very pleasant place to stay.

Janie’s house was the perfect spot for our group of 9. Lots of room for our two families. The pool and basketball net kept our kids going when we weren’t touring the island. Sitting pool side watching our kids smile all day was the best! Bring your own basketball as Janie had 3 taken from the property. We bought one, but took it with us. No sun umbrella on the property so bring one or buy one there. Super convenient address from the airport and for heading into town or going north to Hāpuna Beach. Matsuyama Food Market at the top of hill and in Texaco at the bottom of the hill for quick purchase items. Most of all, communicating with Janie was easy. We really hope to come back to this property. It is fantastic for large family groups. Thank you again for a wonderful 9 days in paradise. P.S. the sunsets are breath taking!

See below for pros/cons. We had an OK time in this house. The major downside is the noisy street right next to it, which makes hanging out on the lanai to enjoy the sunsets less of a relaxing experience. If you've spent the day exploring the island and then want to come back to the house and enjoy the pool and outside sitting areas, it's hard to do that with cars, trucks and motorcycles zipping by - all going full-throttle due to the steepness of the street. Some reviews mentioned this and we should have known ahead of time that this will be an issue. Oh well, we still had a good time on the island - it's Hawai'i after all! Pros: - Janie, then host, was very responsive and courteous - the house was clean, roomy, and had plenty of towels - the provided coffee capsules were a nice touch - the view is great - the lanai is nice - there is a pool and separate outside BBQ/sitting area - there are lots of birds and their singing and chirping is great Cons: - very noisy street right next to the house - there's little privacy in the pool / BBQ area and in the living room - the pool / BBQ area is right next to the street, behind a low wall. You really don't want to hang out there, due to the constant traffic and being visible from 3 sides - the skylight with no shades and the missing blades on the blinds in the bedroom make it hard to sleep in - either the sun wakes you or (more likely) the morning traffic starting at 6am - the price is pretty steep, given the negatives
