Well stocked condo at a fantastic spot. The sound of the waves and amazing ocean view beat out other options for sure. The onsite food options and easy parking were pluses as well. Perfect home base for our week of adventures on the big island. No regrets. Would stay here again.

Ac didn't work for a week and we had maintenace coming in and out to try to fix the ac unit. was difficult sleeping conditions. The cable tv didn't work for 4 days until the cable provider came to replace the cable box. We had to wait until he showed up All that for a 200 refund.We did enjoy the unit for a week

Beautiful condo right on the ocean. Easy to access with a fully stocked kitchen. Loved having the beach accessories available for use during our stay.

Check in and parking were SUPER easy thanks to the detailed instructions provided to us. The unit had THE BEST views. It was clean and had everything you could need or want on vacation. The area felt safe and was relatively close to shops, farmer's markets and more. The complex was quiet. Friendly people all around. The owner was quick to respond if we needed anything.

This condo was very nice. The master bedroom and living room open onto a beautiful Oceanfront Lanai. Everything you need for the beach is provided, including coolers, towels, umbrella, etc. The garage is being remodeled. The condo was stocked with seasonings for food, cold filtered water in the refrigerator, and usable food in the pantry. It took a while for the air conditioner to cool the unit after we arrived. The AC unit is small.

You can’t beat the location of this unit (top floor). Breathtakingly beautiful view of the ocean just a few paces from the water. Gorgeous sunsets, calming waves, lots of fish and spinning dolphins and other creatures of the sea. We’ve been to Kona Bali Kai twice now, and we’re coming back!

We have stayed in the Kona Bali Kai condos before,in different units,but this unit fell flat.The word “penthouse” sold us on booking this condo.Overall,it’s dated-furniture,cabinets,appliances,everything inside was dated.And it was so dark.Barely any light.Even with all the lights turned on,it felt dark.It could definitely use some upgrades.The floors were not the cleanest upon arrival.Sand & dead bugs in places when we arrived.Owner will have to take that up with the cleaning crew.Limited A/C to one small area of the condo.If you’re in the back room (by kitchen) you’ll bake.Only one set of towels & 2 rolls of TP in guest bathroom for a 10 night stay.Washing machine stinky.We had to go buy washing machine cleaner.Ran it through 3x and still stinky.Bed linens were flimsy & bed was on a cheap metal frame.I barely leaned against it & it slid across the floor.TV had a big slip cover over it.IDK if it was broke or just a heavy dust cover.Not sure.We didn’t even touch it just in case something was wrong with it.There’s a binder on the table with instructions to read it.Iskimmed.It’s sooooooo long.We are on vacation.We don’t want to read a book of rules.Also,would have been nice if we were notified of garage construction.That said,it did have all the amenities you would expect:dishes,toaster,coffee maker (although it could use a good cleaning),pots & pans,boogie boards,coolers,beach chairs.That was nice. And the view.Can’t beat the view.That’s why we like Bali Kai.

Fantastic location, close to everything in Kona but private/quiet and family friendly. Delicious tacos and poke within walking distance! Condo was excellent with all the amenities we needed for our one week stay and we slept to the sounds of the ocean every night! Thank you Mike, we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit!!

Nice location. Lots of beach items to use. Plenty of parking. Was very relaxing listening to the waves at night. One issue was they were aware the shower in the 2nd bathroom was broken but didn't attempt to fix it until after we called, and it wasnt fixed until our 3rd day into our stay. Other issue was the 2nd bedroom stayed fairly warm as the a/c unit only cooled the living area.and master bedroom.

The unit is as ocean front as you can get. Loved hearing the ocean all night. It is very well stocked for all ages. Games for kids and tons of beach toys. The kitchen has everything you need. Clean and made for a relaxing stay. Close to town. Parking is tight but very doable for our full size SUV rental. Would stay in this unit again.

The condo was very comfortable for our family of 3. Owners have taken extra care to make sure the condo is stocked with amenities. We loved the lanai for morning coffee and sunsets.

We had a fabulous family spring break vacation staying here. Close to great beaches and loved the tide pools right there. Mike was amazing, very responsive and very helpful. The condo had all the amenities and equipment for the beach, chairs, cooler, umbrellas and snorkeling equipment. Would absolutely stay there again!

This was a wonderful unit and had everything we needed! Highly recommend!

There were five of us staying in the condo. It is very nicely furnished and equipped. We got off to a shaky start when the office was unexpectedly closed, so a wheelchair was not available. My husband has walking problems, but we managed to get him upstairs to the unit. Thankfully after a call to the owner, someone appeared with a wheelchair for our use the remainder of the stay. That was much appreciated. We spent hours on the lanai watching the tides and sunsets come and go. Our family enjoyed the many beaches and found several snorkeling and board surfing locations nearby. Also the town of Kailuea-Kona is 2 miles away where there was good shopping and eateries abound. Thank you to the owners for making this unit available for us to enjoy.

This location was close enough to the action but not down in the middle of traffic so we found that very valuable. The amenities of the condo where everything we could have wanted. Mike provided many things that we never would have thought of someone providing.

Enjoyed our stay and the condo had everything we needed.

Property was just as advertised. They had everything you need other than bringing your food for a delightful stay and only steps from the water.

The view of the ocean allowed us to watch surfers and a number of whales and even had a Hawaiian Monk seal come up on the beach.

The owner was very easy to work with. The condo was just as advertised and extremely well equipped with everything you might need for a Hawaiian vacation. Close to shopping. The view is excellent and we enjoyed watching the surfers and the sunset.

I walked In underwhelmed … don’t judge a book by its cover. Just came from the Hyatt regency In Maui, this was our second stay on a 3 island visit. Little did we know it was exactly what we needed and wanted. The ocean …every single night. I don’t know how I’ll ever top that seriously, of all the stays in all the cities this was phenomenal. Clean, we barbecued, we cooked we laundered, we tended to wounds, there was everything we could need and more than should be expected, grocery store minutes away!! Snorkeling, cooking, first aid, shampoo. It’s truly home away from home. Book it with zero regrets. I promise!! If we ever go back to Kona we will stay here again without hesitation

This condo was as advertised and awesome! The entire property is a bit dated, but safe, and very functional. The owner was easy to connect with and quick to respond. There is clear communication in the flat about everything from the local area, to wifi, to how to leave the space when you depart. Well stocked kitchen and lots of goodies left behind by other guests that we could use so it really had a communal feel. The breezes and sounds of the sea were awesome! We watched the morning surf group each day while having our coffee. Great parking and a great place to anchor as we drove to different parts of the island each day to adventure. There are grocery stores nearby, but you would need a car.

The best thing about staying here was being right by the ocean and hearing the waves crash. I also liked how comfortable the beds were and how nice the place was over all. I found that the kitchen was a good size as well. The only issue was that the pool was cold. Mike was a great host and very responsive

We really enjoyed this two bedroom condo. The unit was sparkling clean and well-stocked with anything we could have needed. The grounds are great and well maintained. Tide pools were fun to explore. Waves crashing and beautiful sunsets when we were “home”. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo

We sat on the lanai every morning & evening. We could actually see fish & turtles swimming! Condo had everything we needed.

Just a lovely spot - ocean waves and breezes, views of surfers and dolphins in the morning, all the amenities (thank you for beach chairs and snorkeling gear). Nice 40 min walk into town, Da Poke on site (amazing Poke), and easy parking - truly one of favorite spots we have stayed.

We stayed for a quick visit with our kids in October and really enjoyed the location. The little beach at the corner of the property was great for poking around tide pools and watching the surfers. This place has everything we needed for trips to the beach and coming and going to Kailua town for food and fun.

We had a great time in this apartment. It has everything you need. Kitchen well stocked, beach and snorkeling supplies, a well functioning AC (was pretty hot and sticky when we were there) and more. The grounds are well maintained and there a great poke place on site. Mike provided me with a ton of information about the property and the area, and was very responsive to all of my inquiries.

Plenty of room, clean, easy parking, safe area... condo had plenty of extra things including all kinda of beach equipment. Comfortable sleeping for the for of us and the lanai was the highlight! Great place.

This condo was absolutely amazing! A beautiful spot right on the water, hearing the ocean waves crashing in! The apartment has absolutely everything you need, from personal amenities to beach and snorkeling gear. The drive to nearby beaches and to the restaurants on Ali'i drive are both easy. Mike was responsive when I called with a question, communication was easy. The only downside is the bedroom in the front of the apartment gets a bit warm, the AC unit and the doors to the lanai are both in the back of the apartment so don't cool the front bedroom as easily. Would happily recommend to anyone looking to stay in Kona!

This property has EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING. I am a frequent VRBO traveler and this is by far the best property that I have stayed. Everything described in the listing and pictures was 100% accurate. The communication with the owner Mike was next level. he was proactive, helpful and I felt a genuine effort by him to ensure we had the best possible stay. The written materials and communication he provided was off the hook: multiple suggested itineraries, best places to eat, locations of things to do broken down by mileage and time from condo, directions, checkin process, and a complete "bible" in the condo of literally all the amenities, appliances and "how tos". The property was immaculately clean, fresh and inviting. The kitchen had every gadget one would need. The location is amazing. We sat out on the balcony every morning watching 4-6 surfers. You are so close to the ocean that even with the doors closed you can loudly hear the waves. The condo is about a 5-10 minutes drive into Kailua. About a 30 minute walk. Parking is readily available but it will cost you - about $10/hour in most public lots. We took an Uber once, which was actually sketch do to the driver. On the return trip, we had a better driver, but she informed us that there were only like 10 Uber drivers, not sure if that was true but it did take some time to get linked with a driver on the app. On a scale of 1-10 this property/owner are an easy 10+. I'd write more but I'm limited by space.

The apartment itself was very nice and well maintained. But the absolute star of this place is the view. It is right on the ocean and you can just sit on the lanai and watch the surfers, sea turtles and waves forever! Mike was excellent to deal with. He even gave a detailed itinerary of things to do, which was very helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate renting it again!

The condo has an AMAZING view and we enjoyed sitting on the lanai to watch surfers, sea turtles, fish, and the beautiful sunset. Mike is very responsive and addressed any questions/concerns we had immediately. The condo is very well equipped with everything you need: cooking utensils, spices, laundry detergent, beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, snorkel gears, boogie boards, coolers) and many many more. The condo was in a great location. Central to just about anywhere you would need to go. Conversations with the host were instant if there was a problem.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend Mike's place to friends and family. Mike is great at communication and very organized. The place was very well stocked. We really enjoyed using the boogie boards. We loved dinners on the balcony watching the sunset. The only thing that could be improved was that one of the twin beds was worn out and squeaking badly. If you’re looking for a comfortable, clean, well-appointed place to stay, look no further! This place has it all. From well-stocked cupboards to sharp knives, from soft towels to comfy beds - there’s nothing funky about this place. I’ve stayed in other units at Kona Bali Kai and this is one of the best. I don’t normally like to eat-in while I’m on vacation, but we enjoyed cooking fresh ahi every other night in this clean, well stocked kitchen. This place is a little gem and I hope it stays this way until I can come back again.

This place has a wonderful view right on the ocean. From the lanai, we saw morning surfers, several whales on the surface, and sea turtles lazing in the sun. The property is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable Hawaiian vacation. The property manager was very easy to communicate with and efficient. The property was very clean and updated. Parking was simple and restaurants were nearby. Mahalo

This condo has everything you could possibly need for a week in Paradise. The cabinets were well stocked with everything from seasonings, to coffee grinder, to tour books, to laundry supplies, etc., etc., etc. And not to mention the view: UNBELIEVABLE! Every evening on the comfortable lanai, watching the sunset. And in the morning, you can watch the surfers. We were a group of three women, and the fact the 2nd bedroom door wouldn’t close b/c the bed is too long, wasn’t a problem, nor would the open door be a problem for a family. The location is ideal. It’s out of the tourists’ main stream, and there’s handy transportation into town. After touring around and being “in town”, this is a welcomed retreat at the end of a busy day. Very, very comfortable for “chillin’”. And the pool is a lovely addition. I hope we can return! Thnx, Mike!

Our stay was great. The condo is perfectly situated just south of town. It has a spectacular view, right on the ocean with a spacious and well furnished lanai. The unit is roomy, well furnished with many unexpected and useful features, including in the kitchen. Our expectations were met and exceeded Pre visit communication with the owner was easy and timely. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Unit was as the photos displayed

If you dislike the sound of pounding surf, spotting countless whales, sea turtles and surfers from your private balcony, this unit is not for you. This was our 18th trip to the islands and our best. We've never seen so many whales. The calves were very entertaining. Mike was great and just a text or phone call away. Everything was as presented. Highly recommended.

Great condo on 4th floor (penthouse) right on the beach. Surf crashing constantly. Beautiful view especially sunsets.

This unit is well cared for and in a beautiful location. The lanai is fabulous - the view is incredible! When the listing says "crashing waves" they are not kidding. You are right at water's edge looking down at the tidepools and hearing the waves. The owners have thoughtfully provided all that you need for your stay - maps and guides, beach towels, umbrellas, and snorkel gear as well. We would definitely book this unit again.

Our family of 4 spent a wonderful week in the Kona Bali Kai condo. Incredible location close to beaches, shops, restaurants and tours in the area. Mike’s condo is equipped with everything you need to enjoy the best of Kona. Beautiful views of the ocean activities during the day, gorgeous evening sunsets and sleeping to the sound of the waves. Great vacation!

Super awesome property- to be right on the coast and hear the waves all night gave the best night sleep ever!! Access to pool, ocean, Alii dr was just what you need on a vacation.
