1 Bdrm Ocean & Pool view with Large Lanai & AC in the heart of Kailua Kona

It's possible the owner recently purchased the unit. It's in need of a few repairs and cleaning. 1. Living room fan light out. Chain needs to be longer.2. Curtains in living area old & dirty with some areas torn.3. Needs a recycle container.4. Major cleaning if woodwork, floors, baseboards or a paint job!5. We arrived to very noisy construction from 830 to 5 off for lunch. We weren't informed. The owner replied & did provide a credit. It will last for awhile.All this being said... the complex is on the ocean with a nice white sand beach next to it & a gorgeous pool & hot tub. Actually a beautiful area. Walking distance to restaurants & shops & touristy area.

We enjoyed the small complex. The condo and grounds were clean and easy to navigate. We appreciated being able to easily walk to town and a small beach nearby. Thank you for having extras like chairs, a cooler, snorkel gear, and umbrella. This all makes the trip easier. Kitchen was well stocked. Thanks for a great trip!

Great location, beautiful view, good amenities. There were beach towels and chairs, snorkel gear, and kitchen was well stocked. The VRBO itself could use some updating and I think a check out time of 11am (instead of 10) would be a better option for families to enjoy and not feel rushed morning of check-out.

Need a new bed and updated details like new curtains and towels and wash cloths. Also, I was nervous about the breakable picture in the bathroom.

It’s a good location in town and nice view but since it’s on a low floor people at the pool could look right in, It has a very small bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The floors looked ok, but once you walked on them barefoot, they were dirty. The bottoms of our feet were filthy! The bathroom was ok, but a little dirty too. Also, the drapes need to be cleaned.

Amenities were pretty good, towels, a little worn, there were beach chairs lots of snorkel gear ( we had our own) nicely stocked kitchen. Nice lanai nothing special just basic table and chairs. Bed was good. Great location, we were with 3 other couples so we could go as we pleased for shopping or dining. Pool was small but relaxing, hot tub too.

This is a decent condo but there are things that could be improved on. The good: location, it’s a very short walk to restaurants & shopping and the little pier is only 1/2 mile. The complex property is steps from the ocean, with a little sand beach just next to the condos. The pool is great also, complex parking is easy & plenty of it & there is a nice view, only partial from the balcony. The owner, Erica, is very responsive. There was a little issue when we were there & she addressed it quickly. Other pros: there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash, beach umbrellas & snorkel equipment. The kitchen was nice, y Ok so what can be improved on or the cons…the condo needs a deep cleaning. It could use updating as other reviews have said but that isn’t something I usually focus on. A place can still be clean even it’s it not shiny and new. Yes, rust can develop on little spots at a condo on the ocean in a humid climate, but layers of dust and stains on the curtains of the sliding door and having the curtain sort of torn off or broke of part of the curtain rod isn’t great regardless of how updated a place is. There was only one dishwasher pod left in a large box, sugar or sugar substitute but yet coffee and filters. the condo is set back in a corner sort of and very close to the pool and a little BBQ area where residents got together every evening for an hour or more. So we heard them easily.

Erica was very easy to get in touch with and very helpful.The location could not be better, so much within walking distance.

Great location in Kona, great location in the complex: literally just steps from covered parking and the gate to the pool/hot tub/barbecue area. Nice landscaping, nice view, quiet after 10 pm. Short drive into downtown Kailua-Kona...

Always enjoy Kona Reef condos

Everything was wonderful, I really enjoyed the pool out of the other place we stayed. The only thing was it was a little loud at night. Nobody’s fault. Excellent place to stay host was awesome easy to work with. Loved it!

The location of the property was excellent. We were able to walk to shopping and restaurants. Parking was convenient. The grill area was a great bonus and the pool was wonderful. The owner responded quickly to our questions.

It was a nice little place. Convenient walking distance to downtown. It was nice sitting out on the Lanai and having dinner there. The place was available earlier than expected and I was notified that we could arrive earlier. I posted a picture of us on the Lanai and the view.

We stayed in this condo the end of February. We have never had a bad experience in a VRBO before, but this one was terrible! The condo has never been kept up. It had:peeling paint on all the woodworkdirty woodworkholes in walls where art work had previously beenhad to clean the washing machine before using. It was filthy.the oven was so dirty we couldn't use it. It would have set off the smoke detectorThe refrigerator was not clean and is rusted, inside and outNeeds a total paint jobNeeds new flooringI contacted the owner when we got back and sent her pictures. She refunded the cleaning fee, but said since we didn't call her while we were there that was all she could do. There was nothing that could have been done while we were staying there. It needs a complete overhaul! Wish there was a way to submit pictures to this review.

Views of the ocean were nice from the lanai. Condo is adequately supplied but needs another chair in the living room. TV situation and condo are outdated.

We had everything we needed. The host was very responsive and considerate. Easy check in and check out. Great location to walk around town and small beaches, whale watching, nice pool and hot tub. The BBQ area is great too!

Nice apartment with a view of the pool and the ocean. Apartment was clean and comfortable. We didn’t need to utilize the kitchen, but it appeared to be appropriately stocked. The lanai is pleasant place to sit and relax the apartment is very convenient to walking into Kona and exploring the island.

Great place to stay when visiting Kona. Beautiful sunset views from the pool area and one of the best beaches on the island to surf and/or boogie board is right next door.

The condo was clean and well equipped. Great location, nice ocean and sunset view and amenities. I would definitely reccomend and atay here again.

this is a spacious one bedroom with large lanai area. Four people adults stayed here with lots of room. The kitchen is well equipped. It also has rice cooker, coffee maker, hot water kettle and toaster, microwave, full over and dishwasher. They have beach chairs and cooler bags

Erica was very prompt and courteous to our requests. The condo was very clean and everything in good working order. Pool and jacuzzi were nice. Toiletries were greatly appreciated. You are a 10 minute walk to the heart of Kona (shopping/dining/Farmers mkt). You can walk on the street by the hotels parallel to Alli drive to avoid cars and highway noise. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for a couple nights in Kona. This place was perfect!. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Comfortable bed. Everything working well in the condo, lots of amenities. Great for 2 adults and maybe a couple kids. Free parking with easy access to the pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ'S and ocean front area to enjoy the sunset. I would definitely stay here again.

The positives are the pool and the hot tub were super clean and enjoyable to be there. It was an ocean view and could hear the waves. Nice location to walk into town. We felt the condo really needed scrubbed down. It felt dirty. Every knob was sticky and had grime on it. The lamps had 10 years of dust on them. There was a ick factor in the place. I do have to say it was very well appointed with everything you would need.

This was wonderful! Very short walk to all the stores and right on the ocean. Hot tub and pool were very nice- will definitely consider staying here again the next time.

I have stayed at several units here over the years and this was definitely the cleanest and best. Owner was great to work with. Highly recommend.

The unit was very clean, and exactly as shown in the listing. They even have a pack and play and extra pad mattress in the closet if you need along with beach chairs, umbrella and a few other things. The manager was very friendly and communicative. The property itself was also clean and relaxing. Pool was perfect and easy to walk to the rocky beach in front with a small sandy beach on the side. Property is within 5 mins walking distance from ocean front restaurants downtown. We bought fish one night and grilled by the pool. Great stay.

This property is perfect for those looking to be close to everything in Kailua-Kona. Short distance from Airport. Walking distance to downtown and beaches. We loved our stay!

Pros: Excellent location, beautiful view from the lanai. Walkable beaches, restaurants, shops. The house had necessary amenities, utensils, functioning appliances. Cons: Bedroom windows don't seal, don't block any noise, not even voices of people walking by talking normally. Lot of corrosion inside the property. Dishwasher functions but completely corroded. Windows handles, locks and sliding door rails etc affected because of corrosion.

The ceiling fan in bedroom was stuck on high. No way to change it. The a/c wasn’t big enough to circulate to front of condo. Kitchen was fully stocked of dishes and utensils 👍 The bathroom needed more shelving for personal items. Didn’t like the lizard little things crawling on the kitchen countertop 😱

This was a great place to stay in the Kona area. The host Erica was very accommodating and communicative. Place was well kept and met all expectations. It was centrally located and had a nice view of the ocean’s crashing waves. Highly recommend.
