Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros - good location, clean, well stocked kitchenCons - very small, stains on bed cover, terrible water pressure, door knob would come off in our hand, tiny bed although there is room for a larger one, uncomfortable furniture, very dark outside - some light bulbs just needed to be changed, but nonethe less, the lighting was inadequate to the point that we could not see the numbers on the keypad in the evening. It's old, but if the owner was inclined to make improvements there are simle things that would achieve this.

As described with no surprises, make sure you let the restaurant down stairs know you are staying there and join the rewards program. Great Sunset views!!!

We love it here. We have stayed here before and will stay again. We love the location. You can’t get closer to the water. The unit is well maintained and clean. It has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The management team is fast and responsive. We had an AC unit problem and they had someone out as quickly as possible.

Very nice central place. Air conditioning worked well. Had everything we needed to he comfortable. Bed and pillows very comfy. Excellent staff checking in to make sure everything we needed was provided.

We've stayed at Magic Sands many times. It's a great location to experience Kona.

In addition to the ocean view and sounds right out the window, there is a small and very popular white sand beach adjacent to the property, and there is a restaurant in the complex with oceanfront seating, plus a take-out cafe with breakfast and lunch and tables along the beach. Quite the package!The room was clean and lovely and we spent much time sitting by the big sliding doors right over the ocean. There is beach gear in the closet, very convenient. We will be back for sure!

The kitchenette gave us the opportunity to make our own breakfast every day and sit with the patio doors opens while eating. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep. The condo was tidy and provided us with all the necessities. The building is an older style but that didn't phase us. There were simple extras like chairs, umbrella, and body boards to use at the beach. Also the restaurant on site was great when we didn't want to go far. We would come back here easily.

We had some bad luck with WiFi & batteries but it was all fixed for us. Unfortunately, the TV set up kept us guessing with no instructions. Low hot H2o pressure. We would return!

We have stayed in three or four different Kona Magic Sands units (second and third floor) and have yet to be disappointed. The view is unmatched. You’re close to everything without being right in town. We like snorkeling right out in front of the building or just to the south (mile marker 4). This unit, 309, had everything we needed and we would definitely stay here again.

The restaurant that is located at the had very good food and very friendly staff. the beach was nice to have so close by. I didn't go in the pool but it looked clean and inviting. The bed was really comfy. The only problem I had was the kitchen faucet was hard to get shut off completely. I would definitely rent this unit again.

This was probably the most outdated unit we have stayed in. I don’t know if the owners are new to this unit. If so, I hope they will invest in new kitchen cabinets, new appliances, lights and fans. We did notice the new flooring and that’s a start. For my own comfort, the bed was too soft. I prefer a firm mattress for my back so for that reason alone i would choose another unit. As far as property management, the unit was very clean and the property is as well maintained as can be considering the damage done to the sea wall by the surge during bad weather. Damaged areas were well marked. I would stay at Kona Magic Sands again just not in this unit until improvements have been made. All in all we enjoyed our stay on the Big Island.

These are simple fixes. First, bed sheets are Awful! Old, worn and scratchy. 2. One set of towels are not enough for a couple/week stay (I don't want to wash on VAC). 3. The rattan furniture is old, dusty and very uncomfortable. The details matter. You would get return guests if these simple fixes were applied. As I stated the view is priceless.

Oceanfront condo with the sound of the waves and ocean breezes to watch the sunset and stars. Restaurant, trolley and bikes available onsite Management communication was and helpfulness was superb! We will be back!

Right beside beach with beach shack and grill for breakfast/lunch/dinner, coffee or cocktails! Could listen to waves. AC, TV, pool...everything you could want or need when visiting
