Rental Details
Property Overview
The rental is the entire downstairs with it's own private entrance and large patio with BBQ. The downstairs has two separate bedrooms with a large family room in the middle. The kitchen has a refrigerator, sink, microwave, two burner hotplate, toaster over, and coffee maker. We have a washer and dryer in our house upstairs and can take care of your laundry for a fee if needed.
We are located in the quiet Kona highlands in Holualoa. Up here the air is crisp, the stars are bright, and we are often blessed with afternoon showers that water our coffee and tropical plants. We are a little under 20 minutes from downtown Kona, the beaches, the airport, Walmart, Safeway, Target, Kona Brewing Company, and Costco.
Please note the following about our property: It is our downstairs, so you will hear us at times. We have two children so on weekdays you can hear us upstairs getting ready for school. Also, it is a working coffee farm, so sometimes you may hear us mowing or doing work around the property.
Finally, living up in the wild hills, we have many animal encounters. You may see wild pigs, wild cows, turkeys, goats, pheasants, frogs, toads, geckos, chameleons, and many beautiful birds. We have a friendly outdoor cat that may walk up to you meowing and wanting some love.
We live here and are happy to give you recommendations for activities, adventures, or answer any questions you have. If you are staying a few days, we can sometimes give you a quick coffee tour if you are interested. Aloha and we look forward to meeting you.

This was the perfect start to our week on the Big Island. The place was very clean, the owners were very responsive, and the cat made us fee very welcome. Can't recommend it highly enough!
Very clean, beautiful views! Just as described. Great hosts!! Highly recommend.
We took a coffee tour with the owner. His children played with our little one while we attended. They were so thoughtful to all our needs. We appreciated the ability to use the beach supplies. Wonderful experience!
This was our favorite stay in Hawaii. We especially appreciated the quiet serenity of the location and the friendliness and attention of the host family. We definitely hope to visit again!
very pleasant, quiet and relaxing place, host are very friendly especially meow meow
Arrived at the property after grueling day of travel - and directions were perfect. Charming host, adorable sheep, super friendly kitty (bring quarters for treats for MeowMeow), very clean, cute base for Kona area. Coffee is sublime (this is a working coffee plantation).
What a beautiful, clean and tidy place. Great communication throughout and so easy to deal with. Great directions in the email. Would happily stay here again. Mahalo!
Fantastic accommodation and amazing hosts...so friendly and responsive to every question we had. Would absolutely love to stay here again next time we are on the big island...thank you for providing such a comfortable and unique place to call home for a few nights! (Oh, and the coffee was delicious too!)
Amazingly beautiful home waaay up top on the mountains with the best breath of fresh air! Kendall showed my family true aloha we appreciate it! Plenty room for my family of 6! Would definitely recommend!
What a great location!!! Up in the hills away from everything and much cooler than below clouds. Amazing hosts and be sure to take extra quarters to give Meow Meow treats. We called in the mobile massage therapist listed on frig and would highly recommend her for future guests.
Amazing property, friendly hosts, unforgettable experience, comfortable and stylish accommodations
Love the hidden house up on the mountain amongst the coffee plants and animals!
Very peaceful clean and enjoyable property. Owner made the stay very easy and stress free.
This place is wonderful. Don’t hesitate to book. Everything is so perfect. The farm is gorgeous. The hosts graciously gave our family a tour and even allowed us to help them roast coffee beans! The space is spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and the layout is perfect for a family. This is the place to truly relax and experience true aloha, away from the busy tourist areas, but conveniently close. The air is nice and cool due to the elevation. Mr. Meow Meow is a super cool cat and welcomes you home each day. We even saw sheep resting on the hill outside nearby, which was so neat. The hosts think of everything, with lots of helpful supplies. I had an incident where I became ill and they went above and beyond to help me, bringing a thermometer, helping to find urgent care, their kids handmade get well cards. This place and these people are uncommonly nice and we would be honored to stay again someday. Mahalo and God bless.
Beautiful location on a coffee property above the clouds on the big island. Excellent guest, excellent experience. Thanks.
Very comfortable beds with luxury bamboo sheets. Used the some of the supplied snorkel gear on our adventures. Liked the beautiful view of the plantation rain forest through the windows/patio doors. Dehumidifier was a plus. My kids loved seeing the wild chameleons and other wildlife around. The hosts were helpful and kind. Also enjoyed the underwater photography decor so much that we bought some to bring home with us.
Beautiful property with an ocean view! The owner was very accommodating. Only regret I have is not purchasing their kona coffee which they grow in their yard! They have a freindly outdoor cat which my kids adored. Thank you for your warm hospitality!
Highly recommend staying here. We enjoyed being there so much we extended our stay 1 night and would’ve stayed our whole trip here if we could. Our toddler loved all of the animals especially their chickens and the cat. Such a beautiful spot! Hoping to be back sometime soon.
Read the fantastic instructions on how to properly get there as it's not accurate on mapping software. Meow Meow the cat was there to greet us. What a quiet little gem of a place. The dehumidifier was better than an AC as temps remained cool at night but air temps were low. Beds were comfy with soft sheets. TP was premium and very welcome after staying other places with the cheap stuff. Only stayed one night but we're planning to go back and stay here again. Beautiful views and solid coffee. Fast response from the owners.
We stayed while visiting Kona and loved the property! Highly recommend !
Very dated, smelly place with old bed-sheets. The kitchen is poorly equiped and has no oven! Looks like you're staying in a thirld-world country!
We enjoyed how close this rental is to Kona. Great communications from owner both before and during our stay. The property is a beautiful coffee farm.
Beautiful rental, the pictures do not do this property justice. We loved feeding Meow Meow. Sunset is absolutely beautiful here. Location is slightly far from the main tourist areas, which we prefer. Overall a wonderful experience
I am so glad I booked this. I went off from other reviews. The area is beautiful and relaxing. We learned about coffee beans and roasted some with Kendall (owner). What a unique experience. Great communication with owner before and during the stay. Highly recommend!
Lovely place at a reasonable price
Coming back again
Wonderful property not too terribly far from the airport. Hosts were awesome and property was good and clean. Stayed for one night only but definitely recommend this place!
The owner was so helpful and accommodating with all of our requests. The place was spacious and clean with all the kitchen amenities we needed. I highly recommend this place!
We really enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle. It was hard to find, but the owners gave us great instructions on how to get there. Very clean and was set up for what we needed. They even had snorkel and beach stuff for us to use, which we did on one of our adventures. We were nestled up on the mountain and were pretty protected from the hurricane. It actually made for a neat experience hearing the creek nearby get large enough to hear it from the house. We definitely will stay here again when we go back to the big island!
The place is seclusive. Very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The place is a little old, but very comfortable. Love the peacefulness and the very friendly Miao Miao :) The only thing I think could do better is parking. Since it is a very long driveway and we happened to rent a big car, it is a little difficult for us to get in and out of the property.
We stayed here at the end of our 12 day trip to the big island. It was a great way to close out the trip. The property was just as described on the listing. Everything was clean. Our kids loved the scavenger hunt using the photos on the wall and feeding Meow Meow treats. Location was great for slow relaxing mornings. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a resort or large city.
This property is everything they say! Plenty of room for a family, beautiful view and surroundings, everything you need to be comfortable PLUS a friendly cat. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We’re sad we only had one night here! What a beautiful location, comfortable home, and great hosts. We’d love to come back and stay longer.
The property had everything we needed plus more. The hosts were suoer friendly when we bumped into them and and took the time to tell us about their home and some of the great things about the area. We saw toads, a gecko, meow meow and heard the amazing night chorus of the frogs. All this and we were staying on an actual coffee farm! Happy guests all round.
After spending two nights inside Volcanoes national park and two nights in the touristy part of Kailua Kona, staying in this quiet and tranquil property for our last two nights was the perfect way to end our vacation! It is away from the main tourist hub and yet close enough to get to restaurants in Kailua Kona within 15 min. We enjoyed the resident cat Meow Meow, the sheep on the farm, the lush coffee trees and the mesmerizing morning clouds that enveloped the tree tops. The clouds clear by the afternoon and you can see the ocean in the distance! We found the space comfortable and spacious, and our host both friendly and attentive to our needs.
The house was clean and cozy feeling, on a beautiful property in a great location. They provided everything our family of 4 needed for our stay, and Kendall even came down to introduce himself and give us some great tips for exploring the area. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend Kendall and his home.
The location was great, in the highlands above Kona with a partial ocean view. This is a downstairs unit with the property owners living upstairs. We are early risers and didn't mind the mild noise that comes from getting kids off to school. The cat was a riot trying to make us cave in and give her treats. If you stay here bring quarters - Meow Meow will be very happy!
We had the absolute best time staying at this property on the Big Island! The hosts were so friendly, responsive, and accommodating during our stay, and roast some darn good Kona coffee. They were kind enough to give us some samples at the start of our stay! The house had plenty of amenities for our week stay, some basic condiments, plenty of cookware, snorkel/beach gear, and even some toiletries. It was very clean and well taken care-of, and they included extra towels already in our room which was great, as we stayed for 6 nights. The roaming cat Meow-Meow was a highlight, as she greeted us in the mornings and evenings when we returned and kindly begged us for some treats, which we were happy to oblige! The location was perfect for us - we had a rental car, and were able to reach all parts of the island with this as our home base. Very close to downtown Kona, and in a beautiful, scenic location up on the mountain side where you can see the ocean from the lanai :) My friends and I said we would stay here again in a heartbeat should we ever get to come back to this beautiful island! 10/10 highly recommend this spot!
The property was very clean and comfortable. It was surrounded by coffee plants up on a hill in a very nice and quiet area. We enjoyed the photos on the wall and the trivial questions. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the property. I would definitely recommend it to travelers.
We really enjoyed our stay here high above the Kailua-Kona coast! The place was very comfortable, as described, and the hosts had clearly thought of everything a guest might need. We especially appreciated seeing coffee bushes just steps away from the front porch, and great sunset views over the sea. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
perfect location, quiet place in the middle of the coffee trees. To top it all off, a fantastic and affectionate cat
It was a great stay for us family of four! A quite and peaceful place to stay . Highly recommended!
Beautiful property, spacious rooms, very kind and friendly host
Owner was so nice. They showed us coffee farm too.
Peaceful accommodation higher on the hills of Kona. Cooler temperatures and very green
