The Neighborhood:
Kalanikai gives you a central Kailua-Kona address, with Aliʻi Drive’s restaurants, shops, and oceanfront just beyond the door. Kailua Pier, the Kona Farmers Market, grocery stops, and recreation outfitters are all within a half-mile walk, so you can do plenty without getting back in the car. Stop at Kailua Bay, browse the harbor, or drive south for Magic Sands and Kahaluʻu Beach Park. It is a great fit for a Kona trip built around morning walks and flexible beach plans.
Getting Around:
Kona International Airport is about 10 to 15 minutes away, making arrival simple. A rental car is recommended so you can explore the Kona Coast at your own pace. Downtown Kailua-Kona's shops, restaurants, and oceanfront Ali'i Drive are often within walking distance or a short drive, with beaches, snorkeling spots, and grocery stores close by. Parking is generally available on site or nearby, whether street or lot.

I didn't use the pool. The location is close to Kona town with a 5-7 minute walk. Disappointed to find a noisy busy street right outside. Made enjoying the lanai impossible. That info should have been put in the property description on the vrbo website. I can see why it wasn't.
It was very clean and was centric to go walking to the Ali Drive where there are many shops and restaurants. The ocean was right there and supermarket was close. We were 3 people and found it very spacious. Super recommended!
My family and I had a wonderful stay here. Short walk to the beach and restaurants. House was clean and well kept. 3rd floor with no elevators wasn’t an issue at all for my family (9 month old and 3 year old). Would definitely stay here again
The condo was very clean, easy to find and walkable to restaurants and the markets just as described. Some days the three flights of stairs were rough after a long day out. Also, we found the neighbors were not very friendly. If you are on a budget I would recommend this place.
My wife and I had just a few days in Kona and this place was great for our short stay. It was very clean and stocked with plenty of kitchenware. There is also a closet full of beach goods so we didn't have to buy anything. The best part was being within a short walk to the Safeway/Longs shopping center and the restaurants, stores, etc. of historic Ali'i Drive.
