We only stayed one night so can’t really comment on a lot. The place was super cute and clean. My one suggestion would be to take the screen between the bedroom and living area outside and hose it down. It really needs a deep clean.
Did great job
We loved our stay- thank you!
Great location and ease of checking and checkout. Comfortable bed and clean
Very welcoming, had lots of extras to share (chairs, beach umbrella, snorkel gear). Had a lovely time and would stay again.
We loved this studio. It was quiet and within easy access of the bay. The studio was roomy, clean, and beautifully decorated. It was easy to find and parking was an ease! The lanai was wonderful to sit out on, enjoy the birds and wonderful yard.
Very good central location. Near shops and restaurants as well as snorkeling, kayaking and hiking. We enjoyed meeting the property owners Kim and Scott. The studio was fun, bright, cheerful, and had everything we needed. Thank you!
Location was close to town, restaurants & shopping.
It was perfect for what we needed. Very comfy and cozy. Convenient location. Manager responses very timely. I would stay there again. mahalo!
A lovely little studio with everything we needed for our overnight getaway. Thank you to our hosts for making everything easy.
The place was very cozy and comfortable. The place had everything we need. The host really put a lot of thought of the needs of the guest. The bathroom was older but still clean.
Very beautiful and cozy spot, highly recommend
We enjoyed staying in this property for our short trip! The host was super helpful with check in to make sure we could operate the door. Close to beaches, restaurants, shops and more!
My husband and I stayed here for 2 days when we came in from Mississippi for my brothers wedding. Kim was an amazing host. From the minute I booked the place she greeted us and even gave us some suggestions of what to do and see while in Kona. Then once we arrived, it was later than we anticipated, but she helped navigate to where we were to enter. The room was immaculate and even more beautiful than the pictures. The bedsheets were the softest I have ever slept on. She had left notes on where things were, how to flush the toilet properly, and how to turn on the shower. Even supplied earplugs if needed as the room was off a semi active road. 10/10 would stay here again!!
Property & Host were perfect for what we needed. Mahalo for being a great host & for the use of your home!
Great, cute place, very accurate description, easy check in & out, perfect directions from the host. Everything you need for your travels around the island.
Our host was easy to contact and available for our special needs. Cozy and clean. Highly recommend it.
Nicely appointed studio with private lanai. Has all amenities one needs including stuff for fun at the beach.
Over all nice property.my only negative was the traffic.however they do provide ear plugs.
I arrived after dark for a 1 night stay and followed instructions in email. Found location, parked where instructed and access to unit was very simple. Everything was as described and I would definitely stay at this location again. Very nice host. Thank you again.
We looked for a place that wasn't too far from the airport and this location was good.
Nice stay, nice hosts, good location.
This place is great for a stay in Kona.
Outstanding location, easy drive to anything in Kona (restaurants, shore line, highway, etc). Great place for those on a budget with everything needed for a short or longer stay (we stayed 8 nights).
We were going to stay here for our wedding night before an early flight out but noticed a cockroach outside and then found a large dead one under the bed. Since there’s no AC, the windows were open when we got there but it was hotter inside than outside. We did not stay the night and informed the host. She told us they sprayed for bugs but basically to suck it up because we were in the tropics. Could have just been a bad day for her but it was not a fun experience for us unfortunately.
Great spot. Comfy bed. Very well situated for tons of fun stuff on the island
This property was not at all the way it was represented in the listing. When we first arrived, we were disappointed in the rental, having just left a beautiful property on the other side of the island. The place is run down, and we found black mold and ants in the bathroom. The traffic noise at night is terrible with cars revving their engines right outside the bedroom. The last straw was when my daughter found ants in her breakfast cereal and we left. The host was very rude and defensive, instead of apologizing she denied our complaints, although we had pictures and have submitted them to VRBO. She refused to refund our remaining two nights, and told us that she would only refund the box of cereal. This property is not in good condition, and is certainly not what we expected. While many owners take pride in their rentals, this one is clearly all about making profit. I would not recommend this property and feel that it should not be listed on VRBO unless significant changes are made.
Flew in for a funeral in Hawi. Just needed a place to sleep overnight before flight. Got there late, around 9pm after the funeral and going to “Laverne’s”(bar) which was less than 20 minutes away. Upon arrival I wasn’t sure which entrance to use. Owner’s son, I believe, came out to assist me get into the lockbox and into the unit. Maybe a little a little more specific instructions would help…. like: upon entering carport, unit is on the left front of house… up the stairs. Nevertheless, bed was plush (I slept like a baby). Unit was clean, affordable and close to the airport. No AC but there was a ceiling fan and 2 portable pedestal fans, plus it was winter so it was cooler. Literally, I just slept and showered there…. that’s all I needed. Nice neighborhood, where I felt safe. Would I stay there again… definitely.
It’s a nice and cozy studio but the location is a bit noisy
The place had everything i needed for reasonable price. Bed is comfy!!
Nice clean place in a good location. Short drive (5-7 minutes) to some great restaurants. Highly recommended.
I loved walking in the neighborhood in the morning looking at pretty flowers
Very comfortable bed. Has a view when walking outside of the sunset. Cute Lani area. Have stayed here more than one time!
We just had one night here but felt very at home and comfortable in this stay. The unit had everything we could need, and it was a great location not too far from the main strip in Kona. We would stay here again!
I was in Kona for a night. I had a busy schedule and knew I wasn’t going to spend a lot of time relaxing in a hotel room. I didn’t want to spend a bunch for a view and access to the beach. This was a comfortable place to stay. The host greeted me when I arrived. Everything was easy.
Close to Magic Sands Beach where the Sunset will not disappoint. We stayed one night and found it to be a great spot for our stay. Nearby food options were good and the VRBO was comfortable.
The property is cute. I understand their note said there could be critters roaches and mice. There was ant bait on the counter also. We never saw the roaches or mice but the first night we had a few ants. The second night we weren't able to sleep we kept getting bit all night. It wasn't until morning that we realized there were little red ants all over the bed and couch. I have had a hard time reaching out to the owner or getting a response except she cleaned the place herself.
Nice Hawaiiana feel to it. Away from the Ali’i Drive “hub-bub” but close enough to get to town in minutes. Nice place to relax and they provided beach trip essentials such as cooler bag, beach chairs, etc.
Pros: - great location - safe - easy check in/check out - large studio - ambiance Cons: - old and outdated - insects and spider webs in all corners of the house - rusty bathroom and tub - no iron/steamer
If you are trying to see the big island on a budget I would recommend checking this place out. Only 5 minutes from the ocean and the main area of Kona. Not the fanciest option, but overall a nice, clean place to stay. Recommended!
Was a great place in a good location!
Very clean and cute. But since there is no AC you have to sleep with the windows open and there is a lot of traffic.
This was the ideal place to spend the last evening of our Hawaiian vacation. Beautifully appointed, kind host. Close to activities and a lovely neighborhood.
Nice basement apartment close to everything. We would stay here again.
Great communication with owner. We arrived very late but the lights were on for us and we had no problem getting in. Everything was as expected. The only down side was the neighborhood... a little noisy for us Alaskans, but it's part of what makes a trip exotic! Thank you for welcoming us!
The space is small so an extended stay may be a little difficult with 2+ people but it is perfect for a couple that’s looking for an affordable stay! It’s clean organized and has the basic amenities! Bed was comfy!
Having the beach chairs, umbrella and the beach bag .... was a awesome touch!!!! Thankyou so much 🙏
This was a great place for my husband and I got the night we needed in Kona.... Host was easy to communicate with ... Loved the location as well
The studio was quaint and nice. The bed was comfortable, other amenities were good. The host was quick to answer questions.
Great place for us to have a one night stay! If you don’t need to make meals, this will do! Easy in and out with being close to the street, even after dark!
Easy, convenient place to be!
We were so upset that our flight was cancelled due to an ice storm and were unable to get to this spot, communication was excellent, again wish the weather would have let us get there
It was already dark when we were looking for the correct address—it took us a while. We wished there had been more light in the room. Once we moved the blinds up, could not get down—should be a warning sign.
Floor fans were filthy, old and rusty. PVC white blinds don't darken the room and none of them were closed. Fans were not on, host lives upstairs, could have made an effort to cool the place down since she knew that I would only be there for a few hours. I would not stay there or recommend this place. Very expensive for what you get and I did not feel welcomed. Host was asked to provide for an early check in since I was only there for a few hours before catching my flight that same day which I made clear to her. She offered me 2PM and her usual check in is at 3PM. I asked her to call me if it was ready earlier. She did not. She sent a message through VRBO that it was ready at 1:30PM and I did not see that message until I checked in at 2PM. I tried to sleep after I went to get something to eat and could not because it was too loud from the street traffic and also much too hot. I left the place at 6PM. The positive is that the bed is very comfortable and other than the fans being dirty and rusty, the rest of the place was very clean. My opinion is that at the price being charged per night, AC can be installed and black out curtains or blinds can be used to cover the windows. Of all the VRBO's I have rented, this has been the worst in terms of price/quality/amenities ratio.
Nice cozy stay in great neighborhood, close to everything and didnt hear any coqui frogs
Love the colorful wall colors & decorations! Very comfortable bed. Beautiful sunset! Great place for 1-2 people only a 10-15 minute drive from the Bay Area restaurants.
Kim has outfitted her property with one of everything. The Studio is attached to her home in a lovely neighborhood. It is a great location for driving to North, South, East or West coast for sight-seeing and water activities. In addition it is near Ali'i Drive for great little shops, restaurants, bars and music! Kim was quick to respond to all of our questions both before and during our stay!
