The Space:
This one-bedroom, one-bath condo has two beds for up to four guests and the useful basics for family beach travel. The kitchen is ready for quick breakfasts and snacks, while air conditioning, WiFi, and an in-home washer and dryer help everyone recover from another sandy day. At 613 square feet, it keeps the stay compact and comfortable.
Guest Access:
Guests at Sugar Beach Resort enjoy access to the shared communal pool, hot tub, and BBQ grills right along the shore in Kihei. The building offers an elevator, disabled parking spot, and accessible-height features for easy access. Beach access and landscaped grounds with a garden round out the on-site amenities.
The Neighborhood:
The Sugar Beach side of Kihei favors long shoreline walks, open views, and a less hurried beach day. Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge is a nearby change of pace for families who want nature without a major drive. Maalaea Harbor is close for boat trips and the Maui Ocean Center. South Kihei is where to find more cafés, easy meals, and beach play around Kamaole Beach Park III. You can enjoy both sides of South Maui from this one location.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.

Great location for all the fun stuff on Maui. Great view. Great spot in general!

Great facility, amenities and location. Ample parking and enjoyed facilities.
If you have ever stayed at Sugar Beach you know all the units are the same. Just a small one bedroom with balcony. The difference is how the owner has maintained their unit. This place had a soft uncomfortable bed. There was no ceiling fan to help move the air in the bedroom. The beach chairs were small and chinsy. The washing machine was so loud. We only used it when we left and only did very small loads. The place was clean and the couch and chair were comfortable. Loved the views!
Ten Rounds of Golf
The unit has fantastic views of the ocean. But unfortunately it is very dated and old. The furniture, the bathrooms, the stove, the carpet everything was very old. AC, Washer/Dryer works well. The Sugar beach resort itself was nice with a good pool and amazing beachfront and quick access near everything in Kihei. There was a note in the welcome handbook that said that they have had recent breakins and they recommend keeping the patio doors closed.
If you're looking for something right on the beach, this is it. Great view from the lanai. The beaches are clean and not crowded like further South on Kihei Road. It's also a great area for paddleboarding and swimming as the breaks are close to shore leaving lots of calm water not too far from the beach.
The place was clean, spacious and lots of conveniences for beach activities.
The location was perfect, quiet and comfy!! Will definitely stay again.
