Kamaole Villa Conditional Permit 2003/0009

We had a good time at this property but it wasn't quite as we expected. Highlights were beautiful ocean view, amazing lanai, pool and hot tub, walking distance to downtown kihei, air conditioning, and beach nearby for ocean swimming. Lowlights were numerous as well. Since the fence neighbors a park, there were 3 homeless people living on the other side of the fence smoking marijuana, cursing, talking loudly, and playing an ill-tuned guitar or blasting music. Also, there is a LOT of traffic noise from S. Kihei Rd 24/7, as the street borders the property and is right next to the kitchen and family room. You see the cars going by as well. You also hear this from the backyard. Also to note that the path to get to the beach is very steep. I incorrectly assumed it was a regular path, but there is a 6 foot sandy drop at the end that can be challenging. Minor issues with the property include unable to open master bedroom sliding glass door without considerable force, pocket doors that are stuck, garbage bin in kitchen won't stay closed, ripped dining room chair and lounge outside, flooring discoloration ( sun-bleached and rugs now removed). Also, the neighbor's house was undergoing construction for 3 days of our trip (sawing tile which is so irritating) and we were not offered any compensation for our discomfort. Hard to relax outside with all that noise. For this price point, I expected more for our 30th wedding anniversary.

Great house…this was our 2nd stay (first 8 years ago), The house is aging.The dining room chairs are ripped and the dining room table needs an upgrade.In the kitchen all non-tick pots and pans need to be replaced. The all have gouges &scrapes that make them toxic.Operating the TV with two different remotes was a bit confusing….go to one remote.These may seem to us picking at knits but you asked.All in all a great house and we loved staying there. The Kamaole Villa is incredible. This was our second stay. The proximity to the beach and the large pool / yard is all day fun. The house layout is a great set up as well. We will be back!

The house is lovely and the pools are perfect for adults who want to lap swim and for children who can wade in to the shallow pool. The proximity to the beautiful sandy beach is wonderful. The house is also ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties with a large walk in shower and everything on one level. We would come back here in a nanosecond.

We are repeat guests and will continue to return. Steps from beach and a few more to restaurants, groceries and shopping. The house has everything you need to relax, prepare meals, or entertain. If you have questions or are in need of anything, the managers are responsive and helpful. Bring your swim suit and flip flops!

Wonderful vacation home with amazing pool, sunset views and steps to the beach. This property has everything you need for three generations of guests. Stacy was a pleasure to work with!

Our family had an amazing time. We are short term rental property owners, and we travel a lot. Our standards are high. We had a fantastic experience! The pics are great. The place looks even better in-person. The owner (Joy), ops contact (Stacy) and mgr (Mike) were exceptionally nice and patient and helpful. Our stay was special!

Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience. The freezer was broken, and leaking water on the kitchen floor the night we arrived. Not at all what we felt like dealing with, after a long trip from the East Coast! The refrigerator was warm. A repair person came out twice to try to fix the freezer, but was unable to get the part needed. We had to buy bags of ice for four days, until a small refrigerator was brought over, which then sat in the dining room during our stay. The hot tub also wasn’t working when we arrived. Two pool guys came out 3 times to fix it, and it was finally usable on day 4 of our trip, after the heater was replaced. The hall bath toilet didn’t flush properly, and the bathtub didn’t drain well. The bedroom with the twin beds had a broken window blind, and the ceiling fan barely moved. We had to request a standing fan so we could sleep at night. The A/C doesn’t cool the two bedrooms enough, while the primary suite is too cold. I requested a pack and play and high chair for my grandson to use ahead of time, and was told by the property manager, that both would be set up for us, and they weren’t. I had to call to find out where they were, locate them in the locked storage shed, and clean and set them up myself. The property borders a public beach where we had to listen daily to a group of people who were on the other side of the property wall, talk loudly, curse and smoke weed. The property manager was out of the country during our stay, and I was asked to direct any questions or concerns to a repairman. He did try to rectify all the problems, but it was very annoying to have to call/text him every day for the first five days of our stay. Repair people were coming and going, and we felt like we had no privacy. My family was looking forward to relaxing and de-stressing on this trip, but instead, we ended up more stressed than when we arrived. I honestly would not recommend this property, and I most definitely would not stay here again.

House is beautiful, well appointed & steps from the beach! Amazing vacation spot - Would definitely come back again.

The beach is basically your backyard and the pool time is so relaxing. We greatly enjoyed the week!!
