For the price, it wasn't worth it. 48 steps from street to ensuite is a bit much. Blinds broken, drapes won't close, wood work needs TLC. Kitchen counter needs changing.TV works, but is not as good as it should be.I would not recommend this unit to the older generation.
Great view from the lenai
Grounds and pools well cared for. Staff on site were pleasant and helpful. The only issue was the unit I reserved was not available. I wasn’t informed until 3 days before check in. The new unit assigned to us was in great need of being updated. Lots of small issues, such as doors coming off the tracks and toilet running every 20 minutes. When discussed with manager on site, we were given discount on stay.
We had plenty of space to spread out in the condo. My son loved mornings “chilling out” on the patio. The pools were wonderful and very family friendly. Great location for getting wherever you want to be!
Great location, beautiful property. Will definitely be coming back to this place!
outdated tv service (unit)
We are a family of five and this condo worked perfectly for our stay in Kona. The property is beautiful and in a gated community located right next to the water. The condo was quiet and had all of the items (hairdryer, kitchen utensils, etc) you need for an extended stay. We cooked most of our meals in the condo, and even had our friends (a family of four) come and eat with us. Our only complaint (which is minor) is that the A/C doesn't 'come with' the unit. You pay extra per night to use it. It's understandable, though - the island is doing everything it can to be good environmental stewards, and so is Kanaloa at Kona. We used the A/C the last couple nights, but went without it the rest of our stay and we were fine. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. We would definitely stay at Kanaloa at Kona again!
Beautiful location!! We highly recommend it!!
Our stay at Kanaloa-Kona Resort was enjoyable. The resort is quiet (some construction noise), pool by the ocean and a convenient place to stay (walking distance to shopping/restaurants and ocean). The view out our lanai was great (green/golf course). Kitchen was well stocked but sharp knives were very dull. Some negatives include: stairs (condo on 3rd and 4th floor), darkness of condo, very dirty carpets, mostly uncomfortable furniture, very small TVs.
This is the second time we have stayed in this resort. There was plenty of room for our family of five plus our local family members dropping by for visits. We loved the pool the most- we BBQ’d a few times poolside and met fun people in the resort that shared their fresh caught fish with us. The grounds were immaculate but the condo itself had some room for improvement. Also would have been nice to have more items stocked such as cooking spices- there wasn’t even salt! Other places we stayed at this trip had well stocked kitchens and cool extras like boogie boards, snorkel gear and coolers. Overall we would stay again in Kanaloa because the resort is great but hope the next time is a little cleaner and more stocked.
