CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Major exterior painting and spalling repair project Jul 2025–Jan 2027 with construction noise daily from 8am–5pm. This unit's lanai will be closed ~2–3 weeks sometime Sep–Oct 2026, accessible daily from 5pm once work is finished for the day. (Dates subject to change without notice due to weather and unexpected delays.)
There are many great shops and dining establishments right on property, and it's an easy walk, trolley or taxi ride to Waikiki's many other shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues! Beautiful Duke Kahanamoku Beach Park & Lagoon are located just a quick 4-minute walk down the exclusive beach access walkway, and Ala Moana Center and Beach Park are a 10–15-minute walk away!
NOTE: This rental is legally classified as a 1-Bedroom condo due to its size and kitchen. However, it has been renovated into a spacious open-concept Studio with NO wall/door separating the bedroom from the living room.

Since another guest may check out the same day you arrive, to guarantee an early Check-In, reserve the condo for the night prior to arrival. For same-day reservations, Check-In Time is guaranteed for 5PM.
No Pets, No Parties, No Smoking/Vaping (including in the condo, on the balcony/lanai, or in any of the building's public spaces). Violations are subject to a $500 fine, plus actual costs for odor removal or if anything needs replacement due to tar, ashes, or burns.

AC worked great. Road noise was unfortunate. Location was great.
The studio was accommodating for 4 adults. Keypad access to room was convenient. Free parking was a great bonus. The beach was walking distance.
Room was bigger than the pictures made it appear. Only negative is the host did not answer a couple times I called with general questions.
Good location and having a parking space is a bonus. Room size is good and was clean, except the carpet could be upgraded.I would choose ilikai again.
We enjoyed our stay especially where the rental property (condo unit) was located. The location had great amenities with 2 pools, a lovely courtyard and inviting lobby as well as nice shops and restaurants. It overlooked a marina, Waikiki Beach and lagoon. A nice walking distance to dining, beaches and sites. We will stay there again only in a different unit. The unit needs TLC. The carpet needs to be replaced preferably with hard floors throughout. Woodwork is in disrepair around doors and baseboards. Closet doors need to be realigned and have guides as they were difficult to slide for easy access in and out of the closet. A ceiling fan would be great. I noticed in looking at other units at this location that many did have ceiling fans as well as hard floors. It would have been helpful if there was a written guide for using the TV, particularly what the local TV stations are. Check-in and check-out is very easy and the property management company was very good and helpful.

We recently had our first visit to Honolulu. We loved our stay at the at the Ilikai. The location is fantastic, everyone at the facility was nice, we loved having the assigned parking spot, and we loved sitting out on the balcony in the mornings while having coffee. We would definitely return!

Reviewer Comments: Overall we enjoyed our stay with Captain Cook rentals and especially loved having a parking space since we traveled around the island every day we were there. Responsive host, clean instructions, and a great location central to everything. The only things we noticed: one of the closet sliding doors did not work and looked to be completely off the tracks, bathroom wall over sink had splatters on it that looked to have just not been cleaned up between renters, noticeable paint peeling chipping and wall damage in the bathroom and baseboard were very dirty, and the carpet was bunched up in several places. Overall, nothing we couldn’t work with during our time there and worth it for convenience just suggestions for the future.
The studio was realy cozy and confortable, exactly like the photos. The communication with the property manager was easy. The location was great. The only things I would point out is that the AC is really loud and you can also hear a lot of street traffic despiste being on the 9th floor which is not so great for relaxing. But otherwise, a great choice of apartment!
Location was great for us. The state of the condo was very disappointing. I didn’t go in with a white glove inspection. Once I noticed the carpet everything else started to stand out. The condo had a musty smell, The carpet is filthy, poorly stretched. Cleaning crew missed the mark through out. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets have not been wiped down in a while. Kitchen counter dirty by the microwave, top of the fridge dusty. Peeling and chipped paint through out. Bubbling peeling paint in the bathroom. Looks like there was water damage that never got addressed. Musty smell was worse in the bathroom. The drapes look like they are from the 1980’s and have never been cleaned since. The upholstery on sofa and bed are soiled, throw pillow cases need washed. Patio door was sticking making difficult to open/close. Bed pillows are flat, lines are thin and stained. Kitchen faucet is loose. I took pictures and sent to property management . Response from them was “sounds like our cleaning crew missed the mark. We will return your cleaning fee” they acknowledged the carpet needed to be torn out. I went through and read all the other reviews. Several of the items I listed had been complained about since 2021. It is clear the management/owner have no intention of addressing nor repairing the state of disrepair. I asked for a different room in better condition. No response at all from the company. I was ghosted. I called VBRO, they were able to get a 20% discount for us on top of clean fee.

We had a perfectly beautiful vacation stay at your location. The place was perfect for our needs and the amenities were lovely. Well supplied kitchen, comfortable bed, cosy living space and the balcony was nice and relaxing to hang out after touring in the day... beautiful city street view. Also, the location of the Ilikai had a very nice roof top restaurant and ician harbour facing patio to wnjoy the evening sunsets. Laundry facititues on each floor was very convenient too. AND we loved the lication in Waikiki... so many great restaurants and shopping near by and the ocean is just a quick walk out the back door.... excellent rental lication
