Aloha and welcome to the idyllic gated community of Hali'i Kai! We're thrilled to introduce you to our exquisite, 180-degree oceanfront condo, where luxury meets affordability, and offers all the indulges, beauty, and relaxation that the Big Island has to offer.
Location: The unit is an top-level unit, with the largest floor plan available in the gated community. The private community includes access to tennis courts, a sport court, a scenic pool, a sand-bottom jacuzzi, and a fully-equipped open air gym. In addition to being oceanfront, Building 15 is an end unit within the complex, ensuring the peace and quiet necessary for relaxation and rejuvenation. The double-lanais provide magnificent sunset views, along with once-in-a-lifetime whale watching opportunities. The salty, Pacific breeze rustling through the palm trees, coupled with the ocean splashing against the lava rocks provide a tranquil background for your evening on the deck, with your Mai Tai, watching the sun dip into the ocean. Just steps away from the two award-winning golf courses and the private Hali’i Kai Ocean Club, the condo is located in a convenient, yet secluded location.
Interior: Our home was decorated to ensure that guests feel immersed in the true Hawaiian spirit. With beautiful mahogany and bamboo lining the interior, the condo truly provides a feeling of indulgence. Oil paintings by local artists decorate the walls, and the furnishings echo the Hawaiian culture.
The spacious first floor ushers you in with a warm, Big Island “Aloha!” The kitchen includes granite counter-tops and top-notch stainless steel appliances with all the essential kitchen tools and supplies. In addition to bar-top seating, the dining room includes a large table to comfortably accommodate six. The living room area includes a plush couch, two recliners, and a large flat screen TV, complete with cable. Off the living room is a lanai that offers comfortable chairs and a table to dine at. On this same floor is our laundry room that is fully-stocked with all of your washing and drying essentials and supplies. The front bedroom includes a Heavenly comfortable Queen bed. The ground-floor bathroom, with a full bath/shower and granite counter tops, is also fully-stocked with island toiletries for all of your pampering needs.
The second level of the house has 2 bedrooms. The "Volcano Room" (so called because it has a view of 4 of the 5 volcanos on our island) is furnished with a queen-sized bed, a large dresser and closet for your storing needs.. A Tempur-Pedic mattress and pillows, rich linens, and an overhead fan help provide you with all of the comfort you could imagine. The upstairs bathroom also includes granite countertops and a high-powered shower to feel fully cleansed after a day at the beach.
The master bedroom is truly a sight to behold. The Tempur-Pedic king bed opens up to the top floor lanai, which puts a whole new meaning to the phrase, “rise and shine”. During whale watching season, you can lie in bed and hear the whales calling to one another, while watching them breach and splash in the azure waters. With plenty of storage for clothes, a flat-screen TV, and a full master bathroom with dual sinks, a jacuzzi bath and full shower, the master bedroom is the quintessential definition of the lap of luxury.
As added amenities, the condo also includes free high-speed WiFi, hairdryers, bath and beach towels, beach chairs to help make your experience complete.
Amenities: Our home is located feet away from the Ocean Club, Hali’i Kai’s private oceanfront clubhouse. The clubhouse includes a picturesque, multi-leveled lagoon style pool, with sweeping views of the Pacific. Plenty of lounge chairs and aqua loungers line the pool deck, and the concierge desk offers towels and ice cold lemon water to make your lounging experience relaxing and enjoyable. The pool area also includes a sand-bottom Jacuzzi, well-maintained restroom facilities, an outdoor showering area, outdoor BBQs, and an undercover sitting area providing the ideal atmosphere for enjoying a good book. The Ocean Club also serves up lunch and dinner at the Ocean Bar and Grill. The friendly bartenders provide excellent service (try the ahi poke and the lava flow) and are also a wealth of knowledge, providing insider perspective on restaurants and activities on the island. If you crave a sweat session to start the day off on the right foot, the open air, newly-renovated gym cannot be matched. Treadmills, elliptical machines, and exercise bikes, along with a full rack of free weights provide an excellent workout, while taking in the serene ocean views. Whether your intention is to sip on a tropical drink poolside, or play with the family in the rejuvenating, saltwater pool, the Ocean Club is the perfect place to spend your vacation. The grounds also include tennis courts and a sport court, for those who crave a bit more action.
The Area: Hali’I Kai is an oceanfront gated community located on the Kohala Coast. This unique residential area is just 18 miles away from the Kona airport and is easily accessible off the main highway. Nestled within the Waikoloa Beach Resort area is this ideal spot for either a romantic vacation with your significant other or a memorable family trip. With Mauna Kea looming in the background and the breathtaking Pacific Ocean out the front window, the location is both unique and welcoming. Directly outside the Ocean Club, the “Trail by the Sea” will take you on a leisurely stroll to the Hilton Waikoloa, where you can enjoy a number of amenities and restaurants. Continuing on the trail, you will eventually come to Anaeho’omalu Bay, where you can spend the afternoon playing on the beach or snorkeling in the warm waters. Just minutes down the highway is the gorgeous Hapuna Beach, offering another opportunity to splash around in the clear ocean.
The Waikoloa Beach Resort also has a number of delicious restaurants that serve up fresh cuisine and island inspired bites to delight your taste buds. For the golf fans, the resort area has two 18-hole golf courses, that include pristine views of the Pacific. The King’s Shops and Queen’s Marketplace provide plenty of shopping opportunities, whether you desire a new bathing suit or an authentic Hawaiian ukulele. Island Gourmet Market, located within the Queen’s Marketplace, will satisfy all of your grocery needs while on the island.
In actuality, you could potentially spend your entire vacation within the Waikoloa Beach Resort vicinity, and have all of your wants and needs satisfied. Although, if you desire some action and adventure, we highly recommend you take the time to see all that the beautiful Big Island has to offer.

IMPORTANT: Please know that the Hali'i Kai neighborhood requires all rental parties regardless of unit to pay a $25 per day during the check in process when you arrive. This fee is assessed on a per group basis. Once paid, you will get your key cards to access all facilities on the property. This fee is per group and not per person. This cost is to help cover the constant grounds maintenance, and private pool, gym, and restaurant repairs and upkeep. This cost is controlled and collected by the Home Owners Association during check in and applies to all units inside of the neighborhood. Beautiful home overlooking the ocean. Home is clean and comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We've rented places in the past where the kitchen was so poorly equipped, it was difficult to even cook a meal. However, that is not the case here. Kitchen is very well equipped, barbecue is clean and functioning. Beds are comfortable along with chairs and couch in the living room. There are two covered decks, one off the main living area and one off the master bedroom upstairs. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again.

Had a great time on this vacation. The view was exactly what I wanted. You had beautiful sunsets each day. The second balcony has a comfy sectional and chair to relax on and enjoy the sunsets. The inside was in excellent shape and looked like the pictures. The kitchen had everything you could need and was all high quality. Hope to be back again!
Wonderful condo with prime location for whale & dolphin watching, sunsets & sunrises
We stayed in this condo for 4 nights. The view off of the deck was beautiful. We watched whales and dolphins. It was quiet and peaceful. We walked every morning. A couple of days, we went to the Waikoloa Hilton. It was a nice walk. We also walked to the black sand beach through the volcanic rock. That was a bit tough. Our first night, we ate at the Ocean Club. It was so nice to have that restaurant there after a long day coming from Hilo and the volcano. I had some questions and the host was very responsive. I highly recommend this place.
Obviously, the location is magnificent and the condo was well supplied. The cleanliness/maintenance definitely needed improvement. The main bedroom sheets were stained with what looked like blood so we washed them twice and the stains diminished but still remained. I recommend new sheets. The toilet paper holder in the second bedroom upstairs was missing the spring inside so the toilet paper went flying. The holder was useless. The hot water handle fell into my hands but all it needed was to be screwed back on. Any finally, the stairs are in bad need of cleaning. It's an amazing unit and we spent most of our time on the upper lanai watching whales. Being retired CPAs, this was the first time we were able to enjoy Hawaii during tax season and hopefully will be able to do so again.
The Mavis' home felt welcoming and completely comfortable for our family getaway. There was ample communal and outdoor space, incredible view, well-stocked kitchen and the perfect 3 bedroom/bath configuration for parents and two adult kids and one GF. Easy access to the beautiful oceanside trail allowed us to stroll to the Black Sand Beach (1/2 mile) and A' Bay (1.5 miles). Sitting up a bit higher on the 2nd/3rd floor gives a great view of migrating whales--what a treat! Communication, access and parking were spot on and easy. The home is obviously well cared for and was very clean. It was the perfect homebase for all our adventures. Would definitely return!
The listing almost correctly describes this property. I just doesn't go far enough. The location is ideal and the unit was close to the pool/clubhouse facility. The unit itself was spotless and plenty of space for our party of 3 adult couples.Views from the lanai's were amazing with incredible sunsets each day. Easy drive into Kona with plenty of shopping/dining close by.I would recommend this property without hesitation!
We had probably the best family vacation during the holiday season. The accommodations were perfect for us. It was nice to walk 3 min to the pool and beach club. It gave us flexibility to enjoy the view with a little one and not have to get her in the car seat all days and avoid long walks.Can’t say enough about the rental. Lanai in master bedroom perfect for whale watching. Area is great too and you’re close to great shops and amazing beaches. Hiking trail along the coast is right there at your door and also amazing.Host was incredibly responsive. Loved it. Will be back!

Spectacular! The unit was perfect to share with young adult children...lots of space and more importantly an amazing view and location. The place was stocked with everything we needed and the owner was very easy to work with. We even saw a whale from the top floor lanai. We had a wonderful vacation and are so grateful we could stay here!

We had an amazing stay at this VRBO. The property was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views and all the amenities we could ask for. We were pleasantly surprised with our first visit to the Big Island, and our accommodations played a big part of our amazing experience. This was the first time we used a VRBO property (we typically stay in hotels) and it did not disappoint! The condo was so spacious and cozy. My family of 5 was very comfortable. Being able to stay together, cook meals together and enjoy each other's company, was worth it all! The condo is beautiful, and the amenities were on point. The view from the back balconies was simply breath taking! I would highly recommend this property and will be booking it again in the future!
We went with my parents and two daughters and had a wonderful time. The unit was big enough for all of us to share comfortably and the location couldn’t be better. We loved watching the sunset from the balcony. We hope to go back some day!

Good location. Safe. The pool and Oceanside Beach Club was great. The Village needs to smooth out Lava rock trail. Not good to walk on by the beach. It's marked, but people had trouble walking on it. Overall we would recommend it.
This was our 3rd stay at Hali Kai and it never disappoints! The complex is amazing and the location of this unit is perfection! We enjoyed our time on both lanais for coffee and happy hour! The whale watching is amazing! The pool area is stunning and the Ocean grill is a huge plus for the property. The food was excellent and the evening sunsets are gorgeous! The unit is spacious and comfortable. The sectional on the 2nd floor is a very nice addition to the space! The unit could use a few touch ups but overall highly recommended! What a beautiful view!! We spent so much time on the lanai, especially the top floor. The furniture was so comfortable and we loved watching all the whales!! The view is hard to beat!! And the ocean club is such an added bonus. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
This is an breathtakingly beautiful location, totally oceanfront with whales swimming by. The unit is large and comfortable. The living room couches and chairs were comfortable for reading, and the couch on the upstairs lanai was particularly nice for reading and viewing the ocean. The lower deck has a dining table and chairs, and we ate breakfast there most days. The beds have foam padding toppers - if you like a softer bed you will love these. The bedding was all well-cleaned. The bedroom dressers had ample storage space and insides of drawers were clean. The kitchen is very well equipped - the owners invite guests to use the various oils, seasonings, etc., and to replace what is used up. They also left laundry detergent, which was much appreciated. They have a lot of food storage containers, and even some ice packs and a picnic bag so you can keep your lunch chilled on the beach. Various outdoor chairs and snorkeling items were provided, also much appreciated! The pool club is a short walk and great for lunch, drinks, or dinner. There is a lovely little workout room there as well. We would definitely stay here again if the unit were available for our travel dates.
What a perfect place to take your family. Lots of space, beautiful views, and tons of stuff like chairs, snorkels and pickle ball to use that make your stay that much better.
