The host was beyond amazing from day of booking almost a year ago! Thank you Al I was flying my drone and it landed on the roof, Al called his contact on the island and I had it back within hours. (Above & beyond!) Loved the house, location and especially the lanai so much, we are booking for 2026!
It was my first time in Hawaii and it was wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Al the owner was awesome. Great communication. Felt like home. We would come back. Thanks!
4th stay here and it's always amazing. One of my favorite places in the entire world. The pics don't do it justice. Al is super helpful and prompt when needed.
This house was ideal for a relaxing week on Aliomanu Bay! Extremely clean, comfortable and private. Close proximity to shopping but in such a quiet mellow neighborhood. Host Al Morgan is the best. Great communication and details for check-out. Will be back! Mahalo
This was our second stay and, just like last time, we’re already planning the next visit. The location can’t be beat. Quiet deadend street with beach left and right. Comfy beds and everything you need to make basic meals. Beach chairs and cooler to use. It’s paradise
This place was amazing, super quiet and short walks to some really great beaches. The attached picture is the path to the beach at the end of the road.
We have stayed at Hale Kai on serveral occasions and have always had a wonderful experience.
First, the host is amazing. Kind, communicative and helpful. The house is definitely dated but in good condition overall. No AC is not great but because there are so many windows and it’s by the water we got plenty of wind coming through the house. It was nice to have a cooler to use and towels for the beach and the washer and dryer was much appreciated. The outside shower was really nice to have….until we can home one day and noticed someone had defecated in the shower!!! The host was appalled and took care of it right away. Points lost due to the lack of safety we felt in the area. We were told there was a large homeless population and maybe that’s where the poo came from??? We had to make sure all of our things were inside every night and every time we left the property. We were told of other crime in the area as well from locals at a shop nearby. We loved having anahola beach right down the road; so nice! And make sure you try Onos char burger close by too:)
View! Secluded! Sunrise! We loved our stay at this cute two bedroom cottage. It was as if we had the whole area to ourselves. The bed was comfortable. The home was fully stocked. Al was quick to answer any questions that we had. We love the outdoor shower so we can rinse off after snorkeling. We got to see the monk seal come up on the beach and rest. Something a lot of people probably don’t think about that. The man was absolutely gorgeous from the lanai at night. Very highly recommend staying here. Only suggestion would be maybe AC in the bedroom for at night. Other than that, it was perfect.
Great beautiful location. Easy access to the north shore and airport and everything in between. Absolutely amazing views and great beaches for the family. Easily a 10/10
A perfect place to stay! My son and I really felt at home, we will absolutely book again. Thank you very much Al and Carolyn, Mahalo
The location was AMAZING! But i should also note that the house had every amenity we could have needed. Our only regret is we didn't book this place for a longer stay!
This property is exactly as listed. Even first impression walking through the door looking right out the sliding glass door is "WOW". Literally right on the water, amazing views, cool breeze and quiet. We went for our honeymoon and although not "fancy", it felt like home. We spent alot of time on the covered lanai. From morning coffee to evening drinks. House is stocked with everything you need and more. Absolutely staying here again when we come back.
First time to Kauai and not only are we planning our return to the island, we plan to stay here again! Fantastic location for anyone looking for some quiet beach mornings, snorkeling, or playing in the sand. Conveniently located to Kapa’a for shopping and dining. We loved it.
Our four day stay here was wonderful! Super quiet little neighborhood, oceanfront, with perfect sunrise views on the lanai. Perfect place to start our 2 week Hawaiian vacation. It is an older beach home, no frills, nothing fancy, but very well taken care of and loved, and we felt like we had taken a leap back in time (in a good way). The ocean breeze through the windows was spectacular! It is centrally located on the east side of the island, so easy drive to Princeville and Hanalei Bay or to Kapa'a and Lihue. We made several day trips and found it perfectly located. House had everything we needed, real (fluffly) bath towels unlike hotels, and a box of Kleenex in every room - I literally felt like I was at home! Perfect bungalow for a couple or family of 4 wanting to be away from the fancy resort hotels. Highly recommend!
my family and I stayed here for a week. Absolutely loved the property the home was very comfortable amazing view. It was really nice to be close to the beach.! Anything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay in Kauai! Highly recommend this place we enjoyed it so much. We booked another week for next year.
Many thanks to the Morgans for a wonderful stay. We love the simple set up in such a beautiful location. Many hours spent on the porch watching the ocean and the sun rise:)
Not a real fancy house, but it was what we expected. We like houses like that. The best thing overall was the neighborhood. We went to so many places on the island where there were just so many people, but we saw very few people while sitting on the lanai watching the waves roll in. We really enjoyed staying there.
We have stayed there 3 times and love it!! Neighborhood, view are wonderful. Al is a great landlord and Lyn, who cleans is great. We highly recommend! Are back again next year!!!
Very accurate listing. Right on the beach with covered Lanai overlooking the ocean. Very clean with all the amenities. Will definitely be back.
We had the best time at this place.Quiet when you want it to be and so much just to do around the area!Al and everyone were just fantastic also
Loved our stay. Spent most of my time on the back lanai. So peaceful and restful. The cool breeze and sound of waves washing over you as you sleep. Doesn’t get better than that. The home is clean and has everything you could need. Great communication and easy check in and out. Want to go again on next trip to kauai. .
We enjoyed the house. It was everything that was described to us when we rented it. The house is cozy and quiet. You often have a sense of being the only one home in the neighborhood. Loved that!
The house was clean and and the view of the ocean was beautiful. Loved the ocean being so close and hearing the waves and tide. The house is about a 20 minute drive to Lydgate Beach, which I recommend visiting while there. The owner was very responsive. We would definitely stay there again if lucky enough to get back to Kauai.
We loved our stay at this ocean front older home. It’s in a neighborhood dotted with long time residents and vacation rentals. Although it could use some TLC maintenance inside and out we appreciated its premier location and cost. Everything was pristinely clean, kitchen well outfitted and king bed comfortable. The best part was the large covered lanai about 20 feet from the sea wall. I would highly recommend Al’s place. Loved the quiet area, the sounds of the waves, the nearby beaches and would most definitely choose to stay there again. Wished we could stay longer. covered lanai
Will keep coming back!
Not fancy but very comfortable and everything we wanted.
Exactly what we were hoping for. Super quiet away from the typical tourist areas but easy enough to drive to amenities. Beaches to the left and right that we had to ourselves most days. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Al is a great host.
Al, was great and the house is beautiful. Spent most of our time on the back patio, the view is breathtaking!
Wonderful stay at Al Morgan’s hale. Go!
We had a nice stay at this cottage. It is super clean. I don’t think I have ever rented a home in Hawaii where I’ve not seen a single bug. We loved sitting on the lanai, watching the ocean and fabulous clouds. The kitchen is well equipped and the WiFi worked well. We’ll be back.
we had a lovely time, the house was great. We were able to take advantage of the kitchen and enjoy the beautiful view from the lanai.
Beautiful property with amazing views and a nice little beach area. The home is comfortable and very accommodating.
We had a wonderful stay, the view of the ocean was outstanding. I give it 5 stars!!
I’m not sure I should be telling anyone about this place. The cabin is fantastic on so many levels. It’s comfortable, the location is beautiful, the sheets soft and unperfumed, the host is thoughtful and responsive, household products are environment conscious, the ocean is right there, and the breeze is steady. The long dead end road requires a car and makes an excellent morning walk. This was our third stay in this neighborhood and hoping for more. Please, do not tell anyone else!
This is a great place, right on the ocean. The home is better than the pictures indicate It is bright and airy. We spent most of our time on the porch which is only a few feet from the ocean. Walks on the beach where great with very few people. The house itself had everything we needed, full kitchen, great wifi, comfortable furniture and bed, nice tv on a dead end road. Also a great launching pad to visit the reast of the island. Communication with owner was quick, friendly, and very informaitive. We loved this place and look forward to returning!
Very rare that you get to stay this close to the ocean. It was a great opportunity to stay in this family home. Al was a great communicator and we were very comfortable here.
This rustic beach cottage was just what we we’re looking for in our stay on Kauai. Whale watching daily off the lanai while we drank our coffee each morning. Beach access just a short walk down the road and a great place to adventure around the island for all our exploring. The host was excellent to work with! We’ve referred the cottage to a couple we met at the airport who we’re looking for a reasonable place to stay on their next visit. We’ll definitely come back!
