Rental Overview

Hale Kai O'Kona — Oceanfront Living on the Kona Coast
Wake up to the rhythm of the Pacific. At Hale Kai O'Kona, the ocean isn't just a view — it's the backdrop to every moment of your stay. This freshly updated, spacious 3-bedroom/3-bath, two-story condominium sits directly on the Kona coastline, delivering uninterrupted ocean and coastline views from sunrise to the last glow of sunset.

Newly Updated & Better Than Ever
Recently refreshed and beautifully updated throughout, this home feels crisp, inviting, and ready to deliver your best Hawaiian vacation yet. Every space has been thoughtfully curated for your comfort and enjoyment.

The Main Level — Where the Ocean Comes Inside
The heart of the home is a generous living area that opens seamlessly through a wall of sliding glass doors onto the oceanfront lanai. Out here, a stunning teak table seats six — the ideal setting for al fresco dining, watching the sunset paint the sky, and later, some of the most spectacular stargazing you'll find on the island.

Inside, sink into comfortable seating and enjoy a large TV with a Bose speaker system. Those ocean views? They never leave your sight.

The kitchen and dining area offers a beautiful indoor option as well. Pull up a chair at the teak dining table (seats 4) or settle in at the kitchen counter's casual bar seating. The well-appointed kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and a variety of appliances — everything you need for a quick breakfast or a full culinary adventure.
A convenient laundry room is tucked on the main level just off the kitchen.

Main-Level Guest Suite
The first guest suite is on the main level with its own en suite bath and a flexible bed configuration — two twin beds or a converted king, your choice. A private back door encourages wonderful cross-ventilation and easy outdoor access.

Upper Level — The Primary Ocean Suite
The Primary Suite is a true retreat. Facing the ocean with direct access to a private upper lanai, this room delivers panoramic views the moment you open your eyes. Step outside to the circular daybed or settle into the Adirondack chairs with a good book — this is your personal slice of paradise.

Inside, a California King bed, comfortable seating, and a television create a refined sanctuary. The spa-like en suite bathroom features dual vanities, a jetted soaking tub, and a separate standing shower.

Upper-Level Third Suite
The second upstairs suite is equally generous — a California King bed, a separate sitting area with television, its own en suite bath, and its own independent air conditioning system for complete comfort.

All three bedrooms connect to central A/C and feature ceiling fans for personalized comfort throughout.

Steps to a Secret Beach
Just a 3-minute stroll along the shoreline, you'll discover a tucked-away cove locals call the "secret beach." Calm, beautiful, and frequently visited by Hawaiian green sea turtles — it's the kind of place you'll want to keep to yourself.

The Location
Hale Kai O'Kona is a quiet, private 8-unit complex on Ali'i Drive at the 2.5-mile marker, just north of Living Stones Church. You're steps from the ocean and minutes from the restaurants, galleries, shopping, and energy of downtown Kailua-Kona — the ideal balance of seclusion and convenience.

Parking Note
One assigned parking stall is included. Visitor parking is reserved for owners only and strictly enforced (towing applies). Limited street parking is available nearby.

Every year, we bring our adult kids to Hawaii. And this place was as beautiful as our own home and just as beautiful with the amenities. Tracy and Rondall were fabulous! We know the island very well and just enjoy being so close to so many places. We go. Very centrally located , though , you cannot walk to town unless you enjoy a long walk. We always get pokey and tacos , so that is wonderful to be that close to walk over there. Magic sands beach is walkable , but just a bit on the far side, tho worth it. Thank you for all the little extras and making this feel like a home and not a rental.

Great location, amazing view! Communication with Tracy was really good. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook in, lots of glasses, plates and utensils. Only negative I can think of - no shampoo or shower soap. Lots to see and do on the Big Island!

We enjoyed our 6 night stay and the sound of the crashing waves. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were very comfortable but the main level bedroom would be more suitable for children because it is a little cramped for 2 adults. The views from the upstairs lanai was amazing and the main level lanai was great as well. The property was easy to use and I would recommend staying here. One parking spot per unit was a little scary but the street parking was not a problem.

It's the view! Focus on that and you will be great. Unfortunately, there are a number of negatives that detract from the overall experience. Needs a deep, deep cleaning is an understatement. Carpets upstairs are filthy with so many stains. Bathrooms had lots of long hair tangled everywhere. Bathroom exhaust fans don't look like they have ever been cleaned. Not being picky, but just don't look up as an indication of rest of house. Drain in second bath upstairs completely clogged and filled the shower pan to almost overflowing with each shower. Property Manager came right away to "snake", but still, shouldn't have happened. Mold in a number of places. Temporary frig in living/dining area as kitchen was broken. Things happen, but no ice in temp frig. No provision made for ice. Went to stores to get ice first few days (pain) and bought ice cube trays at Walmart and did it the old fashioned way. VERY busy and congested area. Street noise on 2 bedrooms facing street starts at 6 a.m. and goes througut the day and evening. Parking outside the gate actually worked ok, but be prepared to navigate constant cars and people. Location was good to walk to a few markets however. Just didn't expect a "city" vacation. Pics look like you can jump right in the water on the ocean side, but we were advised not to since very rough water and really rocky with sharp lava formations. Relax on the lanais on the oceanside of the property, watch the waves, sunsets and occasional whale or dolphins.

Big main sleeping room with big balcony, big kitchen and living room with marvellous terrace and sea view. Other 2 bedrooms are relatively small, one of them has no furniture to store clothes. One toilet flush did not work properly.

This home had all of the necessities and you could not beat the location. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of comunal living space to accommodate six adults. The nearby private beach was a bonus! We had a wonderful stay!

Incredible location. The place was easy to get to and right on the water. Gorgeous sunsets from the patio(s) were incredible. It was clean, and spacious, and had just about everything we needed for a very successful vacation. There were a few dirty dishes, and the water was turned off in one of the bathrooms, but these were minor issues easily overcame. The host met us on check-in to make sure we got settled in and was very responsive anytime time we needed to reach out. The automatic gate for the parking area broke one of the days we were there and was operational by the next morning. There was parking outside the gate along the wall so not really a big deal. Overall, we really enjoyed the home, the location, and the amenities. We would rent here again for sure! Thank you!
