Minutes from Hawai’i Volcano National Park...Peaceful, clean, and just awesome

A perfect stay…so close to Volcanoes National Park! The host thought of EVERYTHING…every detail!! The home and grounds were absolutely gorgeous! Picture perfect…couldn’t have asked for more!!

Gigi's cottage was the best vacation property we've ever stayed in! You can tell how much care she puts in to each stay - the cleanliness, the information she sends about the surrounding area, to the immaculate and beautiful grounds. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making the stay perfect for each guest. We felt like we were in our own private oasis, and like some other guests have mentioned in the guest book, we were immediately inspired to copy some of the ideas for our own landscaping at home. It was tough leaving the property each day because it was so relaxing being there. Thank you for an incredible stay, we hope to be back again!

My husband and I had a delightful stay in this cottage. The cottage itself and the grounds were so nice! A perfect hideaway tucked in the rainforest. Next time we come back to see Kilauea we will absolutely be staying here!

Best host ever. Very welcoming, answered all of our questions before our trip. The house was set up perfectly and every little detail of the house was perfectly set up for guests.

I’ve stayed at VRBO’s rated 10 but none have really deserved that rating, until this VRBO. So clean, so much attention to detail. Beautiful gardens.

Gigi’s Cottage was perfect in every way. Lovely interior design & beautiful setting in her lush native garden filled with heart shaped anthuriums. I stayed for a weeklong personal retreat & had everything I needed. The kitchen is well-equipped & stocked with spices & all the little things you might not pick up at the store. I was snug & comfy thru a cold & rainy February stay. Washer & dryer came in handy. Gigi is a most thoughtful host. Definitely recommend highly & plan to return myself.

Gigi's Cottage was so inviting! Beautiful setting, lovely place and Gigi and Marc were wonderful hosts! Especially loved the welcome cookies! Really responsive and helpful. Highly recommended and we hope to stay again on a future visit!

The property felt like we had walked into a Rainforest magazine , with the most beautiful plants & flowers! Gigi went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and especially appreciated her helping us keep an eye on Mt Kilowea so we wouldn't miss the eruption!

We had a wonderful stay in Gigi’s cottage! The space is beautiful and Gigi is meticulous in considering our every need. The cottage is quiet, peaceful and private…the perfect place to decompress and enjoy the Big Island. It is definitely on my “favorites” list now.

This was literally a perfect place to stay. The location was perfect and provided easy access to the national park, which was good because Kīlauea erupted during my stay. Amazingly clean and the tranquility of the location cannot be beat.

When we arrived at the cottage very close to Volcano National Park, we were blown away! The place far exceeded my expectations. We have stayed in many Airbnb’s over the last few years and this place was extremely clean, well stocked, and in tiptop shape. The surrounding gardens were unbelievable! The thought, detail, and hospitality, extended to my husband, and I went above and beyond. I strongly recommend staying at this cottage if given the chance! Aloha!

Perfect in every way for our 30th wedding anniversary. Cottage, host, location, gardens…all exceeded our expectations.

Gigi’s cottage is the perfect spot for a couple to stay near the volcano. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful rainforest and manicured gardens with fun trails. The cottage itself is immaculately decorated and maintained. Clearly Gigi is an artist and her delight to the senses. Details and beauty that makes you smile are in abundance. I will return.

Lovely, very comfortable, very clean, private cottage with beautiful plant-life and garden. Communication was excellent. It's a nice place to stay in a very quiet, off-the-beaten-path part of the big island.

Gigi and Marc have crafted a wonderful cottage with so much personality. No detail forgotten to create a warm, personal environment to relax in. The gated location provided a sense of security, and the beautiful grounds were so nice to wake up to. All in all a wonderful place to stay on The Big Island. Just one thing to note, most local restaurants close early, or are only open some days of the week or for some hours in the morning, so plan accordingly. It is also a pretty good distance away from most tourist attractions on the island, but is soooo close to, that it’s almost inside Hawaii Volcanos National Park, which is both amazing to visit and enormous in size, a great reason to stay in Gigis place is to spend time in this incredible park, and still feel like you have a home to come back to.

This was a great location for our days hiking in Volcanoes National Park, just minutes from the entrance. The environs were beautiful; we’ve never seen so many colors of anthurium! Gigi was a great host very communicative and responsive. And the welcome cookies were SO delicious. A great place to stay.
