Excellent location! Close enough to walk to the restaurants and beaches!
Clean and convenient.
Nice place to stay.
Friendly host
The rooms were spacious. The kitchen well stocked. The parking adequate. The owner was very courteous and helped me when I lost the key.
Bugs on the bed, pillows, dust layers on the ceiling fan, blinds not able to be closed all the way, chairs at/in kitchen/dining ripped on the seats, old, nasty, over-used. Dark inside, needs a refresher and a deep cleaning and could be much more welcoming and enjoyable. Supplied shampoo, conditioner, bathroom ok, water continuously dripped from faucet. Did not use washer or dryer. Parking under where we stayed.Neighborhood had a lot of garbage and broken down vehicles in lots nearby and viewable from windows. Close to the water, shopping and restaurants. Very easy to hear everything going on outside, Dark inside. Decent sitting area on outside porch.
We had a great stay! Unit is in a great location and within walking distance of many restaurants and stores. Overall experience while staying was relaxed and restful, we would definitely book again.
Great host! Hidden gem!. If rains, then you are lucky, you can sleep listening to raining sound!. Very flexible location
Host was great, house could use updating, very noisy neighborhood. We checked out a day early. Would not stay again.
Spacious with a friendly host. Appreciated the loans on body board etc.
Marc the host is charming and helpful.
This is a totally comfortable apartment on the same property as the owners house. There's one bedroom with a queen bed and two double beds on a screened in porch. Everything is a bit on the worn and comfortable side. It's a great location, has a little kitchen and plenty of space. We would definitely stay again in Kona.
Nice, no TV, no A/C (not needed in Nov).
Great location!
No comment as we had to cancel. Host communicated…. Until two days before when we were unsure about time of arrival. Daughter get sick and we had to cancel. I’ll be getting insurance next time…. For another place to rent! I visit 1-2 times a year and family lives in Paauillo
Clean room, and great location
We were very disappointed with the pictures that did not reflect the room. It showed view of water, we were unable to view the water. The area looks shady, but was quiet. No TV with 2 kids was not the buisness. It was hot and muggy and no AC. It had roaches and was bite but something 2 times. I was grateful it was close to the airport.
Great location near restaurants, shops, and the diving marina. Would absolutely book here again. Thx
Very clean. Plenty of space. Quiet. Easy to find. Easy to communicate with host. So many extras available. Super amazing rental. Would stay here again anytime I come back to Kona if it’s available.
Great place for a one night stay before heading out to other parts of the island.
Really cute spot. Pleasant layout. Nice decor. I really enjoyed it.
The property could have sprayed the kitchen for cokroaches. I live in Hawaii understand bugs are normal. I know the small oned attach to everything and breed like mad. I wasn't happy to that in the kitchen had too many for my liking. Place was chill and large.
Great stay in the middle of town, easy walk to the ocean. Quick drive to multiple world class snorkeling sites. We loved sleeping on the lanai.
This was a one night stay for our family of 6 before flying home early the next morning. It suited us fine for the night. Communication with hosts was amazing and easy. Very clean, amply stocked kitchen, linens, etc. Beach stuff to borrow (snorkels etc) for those who stay longer than us. Residential neighborhood location is amazing if you want to walk to everything in town. No AC so can get warm, but 2 ceiling fans and 2 portable fans. There is one interior room with 1 bed, and another room with 2 beds. The room with 2 beds is basically a screened in porch area, and there is an adjacent smaller non-screened lanai with chairs that would have been nice to hang out on if we stayed longer. It had an ocean view peek over the downhill buildings. Despite the screens, it had a very outdoor feel which was fine for us but maybe not everyone, and a few interesting insect friends (7 inch praying mantis!) got escorted out. Kind of a funky place, fairly basic, well aged but comfortable dining chairs, lots of character, on a 2nd floor above a carport (where you can park). If you are mobility challenged the stairs might be an issue. Mahalo to our hosts!
Check-in was smooth and the owners were very responsive and helpful. The decor was flavorful. The lanai room was fun for my kids. A few minor complaints: the windows had only screens so it was a bit loud and hard to fall asleep (surprisingly more traffic than the small neighborhood location would suggest, the toaster lever needed to be held down to get it to work, and the clothes dryer was crazy loud (but it did work). The biggest complaint were the numerous spider webs and big spiders outside in the backyard. No spiders were seen inside. Would recommend.
It was lovely, clean, beautiful view of the water, very safe, free parking, a wonderful place to wine down and relax, great coffee and comfortable beds, and lots of fresh air, I would recommend coming here and unwinding from city life. They even have everything you need to go to the beach or surfing, we where greet and welcomed by the owner with smile and open arms, that made us feel right at home, thank you, I will be coming and recommend this place to all our friends and family.
Very confortable centrally located place.
Nice and tidy space. Very accommodating host! Just what we needed
Cozy and fun layout. Old school Ohana type cabin setting close to downtown and easy access. Would totally book again!
Everything's great!
Amazing location and well maintained property. Easy parking and host was very amenable to making the stay the best it could be.
The apartment was great. More than met our expectations.
Comfortable, welcoming
Our second visit and will return soon for our third. We highly recommend this casual location.
Great location. Everything we needed.
Clean. Simple. Cozy. Convenient.
Quiet little place with a beautiful garden. Very close to a white clean sand beach. The owners are very nice and helpful with things to do. The place was very nice and clean. I would recommend a stay here
Excellent
We had everything we needed and were happy with our stay. Having a place to park off-street was a very nice perk, especially since the unit is so close to everything that we just left the car there and walked everywhere. Looking forward to our next visit to Kona!
If you are looking for a comfortable and affordable place look no further. While it may be a few blocks away from the beach it is a great place to stay. Anybody offering a negative review would be nitpicking. As an 8-year owner/host of a short-term rental I can attest to this place being top notch. It is very well provisioned with kitchen needs including lots of condiments, spices, etc. There is a great variety of sports gear and a washer and dryer. You truly could not do better.
Comfortable beds and friendly hosts! Thank you for the Aloha spirit!!
So.for my first experience i definitely recommend. Just know their isnt a TV in sight. Which is a good thing. Go outside explore and have fun. Everythings close by.
I would absolutely stay here again
Easy check in/out process with a covered carport to park! Mahalo
Everything you need at an excellent location. Great for a family!
the host was very nice and made us feel welcome, no problem that we arrived a little late, the Room was perfect, very clean, clear instructions for our convenience, the bed were comfortable and the room was clean, we had everything we needed. Would use this place again!!
Our stay was fine, but the VRBO app needs a major upgrade.
This property has all the amenities we needed during our stay and the host is very attentive. We appreciated the snorkeling items, the beach chairs and umbrella.
House was clean, cool and quiet. Mark was an outstanding host. Could not ask for more, I’d definitely stay there again. I loved it. Close to everything in Kona
We were just there for the night and it was perfect for our group.
The property is just as listed with a very comfortable deck for chilling. We loved the location that is walking distance from the beach, shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. They also have beach items available and free like chairs and snorkels.
What a cool find. The place has a sweet vibe for sure. Large apartment with backyard and cool amenities. Owner was easy to work with and very welcoming. Would visit again!
We had a cozy stay at an apartment above a garage, where we parked our rental car. We knew we were renting in a neighborhood and not in a hotel so there are pros and cons to that. However, the landlords were really friendly and let us borrow boogie boards, masks, and snorkels, and use the washing machine. Overall, it was a great location to do things all around the island and we had a pleasant stay.
Owners met us as we drove in Very helpful, knowledgeable about the area. Great bungalow
The open space and gentle breezes coming through the apt. were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable also. The kitchen is well equipped. The sitting areas outside and in were comfortable also. We were very pleased with our stay.
We needed a place to stay in Kona after arriving at 8 pm. The rental was great for our family with two adult kids. Host was very friendly and communicated well.
Great location and value.
Cute decoration/set-up, comfortable beds, nice towels, great additional amenities (snorkeling gear, beach towels, etc.), pleasant & helpful owners. Definitely recommend and would stay here again!
Original Hawaiian design. The place was amazing. Close to everything in town. Hosts were friendly and communicative. Easy check-in and check out. Highly recommended will definitely book again if it’s available. Thanks so much.
Close to every where. Near the airport. The owner was so accommodating and pleasant.
