Head south toward Kihei for beach parks, casual plates, and an easy evening out. Go north to Maalaea Harbor for a boat day or the Maui Ocean Center. Back at the condo, the Pacific is still there, doing what it does best. It is a thoughtful base for guests who want beach access without giving up a little resort time. Air conditioning is provided.
The Space:
The oceanfront setting carries inside through the living area and private lanai, where the water stays part of the view. A full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, and dishwasher makes meals simple, and the living space includes a sofa bed for added sleeping flexibility. The Neighborhood:
Sugar Beach Resort sits on a long stretch of sand between North Kihei and Maalaea. Start with a barefoot shoreline walk, then head south for Kihei's casual cafes, markets, and beach days. Maalaea Harbor is nearby for a boat outing or the Maui Ocean Center, while Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge offers a quieter change of pace. This is South Maui for travelers who want the water close, easy outings, and a softer rhythm than central Kihei.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.

The actual property and the unit itself are a bit dated. However, we continue to return because we choose units right on the water. This unit had everything we could need, was clean, comfortable, and the neighbors were quiet and friendly. Love the location.
I loved looking out to the ocean view in this very comfortable unit! It was perfect for our stay in a central location in Maui. Highly recommend!

One of the better condos we have stayed at in Sugar Beach. Very good amenities, but some kitchen utensils need replacing. Not their fault, but we got several phone calls in the middle of the night! Really no need for land lines. Also lots of noise from the condo above.
Great view from lanai... ocean, sunset, whales in distance. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella were put to great use. Welcome gift bag and a few staples like salt and pepper were appreciated. Great condo, great stay. Washer and dryer (w/soap) came in handy. Clean and comfortable, nice floors and furniture. (Better than pics). Outside of buildings is a bit rough and could used some maintenance. Grounds and landscaping is great. Highly recommend.
