Like many tropical areas, the home is surrounded by nature, and these simple tips help keep curious critters outside where they belong

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of space for our family of 5, including 3 children. Loved the open space design and the wrap around covered porch with great views of the ocean and enjoyed beautiful sunsets while eating dinner on the back patio dining table. Cool mosaic detail in the tile floors inside and on porch. Beds and furniture were all nice and comfortable. My wife who does most of cooking found kitchen to be ample, but the bottom oven didn't work. As with most homes in HI, there is no HVAC, but there is nice breeze to keep home cool. One night, one of the neighbors were watching a horror movie and it kept my wife awake since you hear everything outside, but fortunately I had already passed out. Also, be prepared to see critters in home due to being in tropics. Several friendly geckos greeted us. We loved close access to Pebbles Beach about 3 minute walk down road and we also found a secluded small black sand beach down a trail going north from pebbles beach where it hits the lava flow. We loved this and had it all to ourselves with some cool snorkeling!!! Great bonus was home came furnished with lots of beach gear including chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear that came in handy! One thing about home listing however, is that the home is about 20 minutes south of Captain Cook. When we booked, we just assumed that home was actually in Captain Cook so was surprised by that. Home has a CC address. It was ok since we were looking for an off the beaten path getaway, but just something to consider. We stocked up with groceries at Walmart Kona after getting our rental car from airport.Mike (Arkansas)

Everyone had a blast. The 5 min. walk to the beach was awesome. Beautiful veiw from the balcony. You are an hour away from Kona. Highly recommend this beach house.

We really loved the layout of this place. The view was great. The location is very quiet outside of the bird chatter in the morning, which is magical to wake up to.What wasn’t obvious to us until we arrived was how far it was to get to things like groceries or restaurants or other beaches.
Wonderful stay... lots of thing to do in the area. Would love to come back again and even look at buying property.

It is spacious and relaxing. They had great amenities, like snorkel gear, blender and washer/dryer.The beach that is walking distance is beautiful though be careful in going in alone, as the current can be strong. The nearby beach is a great place to watch the sunset and skip rocks. Snorkeling type beaches are nearby, the best sandy beaches are further.The customer service was excellent!!
Wonderful visit with family.
Four generations of family the home had plenty of room,kitchen is well stocked. Everything we needed for fun on the beach was there for us.the beds were very comfortable. The down stairs suit and outside shower was a nice plus. We were here in July. The Mosquitoes were trublesome and do wish more of the door had screens. Pebble Beach was great when the surf wasn't high. Gorgeous snorkeling to the north of the bay.
We loved our stay at the lovely beach house! The studio gave our adult daughter privacy and the big living/dinning area and lanai gave us all perfect hang out space! We loved the black pebble beach and walked there multiple times a day. The sunsets and sunrises were breathtaking as we enjoyed the sounds of the many varieties birds singing the sun in and to sleep!We used all the beach gear and ice chest daily and were grateful for not needing to purchase or rent snorkel gear.We enjoyed being off the beaten path but didn’t feel the need to sight see. The younger folks in our group did the long drives to waterfalls and hikes. We in our 60s stayed closer to the house and were very enchanted by our local stops at shave ice, coffee and poke or taco trips!I would book this home again!
Beautiful, comfortable house close to the best beach on the island. Everything was perfect from the comfortable bed to the central location.
