Property Overview
Ali'i Drive runs a quiet stretch of coastline south of Kailua Bay, where the lava shelf meets the Pacific and the trade winds carry the sound of surf through open windows. Ali'i Point #9 sits along that stretch, a 3,190-square-foot home with three bedrooms, three and a half baths, and a private infinity edge solar heated pool overlooking the ocean. A pod-style layout gives the home its rhythm. Living and kitchen open to the lanai on one level, bedrooms resting above, each connected by a covered walkway allowing nature to seep in.
What You'll Love About Ali'i Point #9
• 3,190 square feet across two levels, with ocean views from the primary suite and guest room equipped with Queen bed
• Private pool and jacuzzi, outdoor shower, and a lanai built for long afternoons
• Koa-wood kitchen with a full chef's setup
• Community tennis and a second heated pool within the gated community
• Walkable to Ali'i Drive beaches, coffee, and casual dining
The Main Level
Vaulted ceilings carry the breeze through the living and dining area, where sliding doors open to the lanai and the pool beyond. The kitchen anchors the space. Koa-wood cabinetry the color of dark honey, a full suite of appliances, and counter space enough for two cooks and a conversation. This is the floor where the day gathers. Breakfast at the counter, lunch under the lanai cover, a long dinner with the sliders pulled wide and the sound of water moving somewhere close. Due to this open flow layout, this space does not feature air conditioning.
Outdoor Living
The lower level opens directly to the water, with the pool set into lava rock just above the shoreline. Lounge seating lines the edge, with shaded areas for midday and open sun closer to the water. An outdoor shower sits just off the pool for easy rinses after the beach.
The lanai ties it all together; pool, lounge, and dining in one continuous space. Mornings start here, afternoons drift between sun and shade, and evenings settle in as the light softens over the coast.
Sleeping Quarters
All bedrooms occupy the upper level, linked by a covered open-air walkway. Given the oceanfront proximity and the separation between floors, the layout suits adult guests and older children.
• Primary suite: king bed with ocean views, en-suite bath with a jacuzzi tub
• Second bedroom: king bed, en-suite bath, mountain views toward the slopes of Hualalai
• Third bedroom: queen bed, en-suite bath, ocean views just outside the shutters
Extras
Air conditioning in the bedrooms, ceiling fans and cross breezes everywhere else. High-speed Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and full laundry.
Resort & Community
The Ali'i Point community offers a lap pool and tennis courts shared across the neighborhood. Beyond the gate, Ali'i Drive is the Kona coast in short form. Snorkeling, surf-watching, waterfront restaurants, and a steady stream of outriggers and paddleboards heading out at dawn.
Nearby
• A short walk to Ali'i Drive beaches, coffee shops, and casual dining
• A short drive to Kona Country Club, hiking trails above the coast, and the cultural sites around Hulihe'e Palace
Good to Know
• Air conditioning is installed in the sleeping areas only. The main level stays cool through vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, and trade winds off the water.

Clean, updated, located on the rocky ocean's edge with shoulder to shoulder views of whales, sunsets and the activity of the ocean.Located in a small gated subdivision off Ali'i Drive. No direct beach access, but lots of beautiful sand beaches within a 45 minute drive.Community lap pool, but we spent most of our afternoons and evenings just sitting on the back soaking up sun, using the pool and grilling our sunset dinners.Pricey for 3 bedrooms and no direct beach access compared to other locations we have stayed, but felt a notch above those places in terms of cleanliness, updates, fresh AC in bedrooms and privacy on the oceanside pool.
My husband and I booked this home for my 55th birthday as well as for a much needed vacation. This place is absolutely magical! No detail was spared; you truly will not want to leave this property - having the swimming pool right on the ocean with the waves crashing was spectacular! You have a view for as far as the eye can see. The home was immaculate with every amenity you need to cook in. We ate breakfast every morning out on the pool deck and saw sunsets in the evening that took our breath away. We created memories that will last a lifetime here. The management is thorough in providing all the help you might need and FAST to reply to any inquiries. So stop scrolling and make this your dream vacation. We cannot wait to come back! Our sincere thanks to the owners of this home who gave us the opportunity to experience such a magnificent space. Mahalo!
This home was exactly as pictured. We spent every evening watching the sun set from the hot tub. During the day we opened up all of the doors/walls downstairs and the cross breeze was amazing. Fully stocked kitchen and toiletries. If you want a rental house that gives you the full island experience with the most beautiful view we’ve ever seen, this is the one.
You cannot get any closer to the crashing surf than this house. Absolutely amazing! Whales swimming by all day long, dolphins jumping and spinning just off the coast, outrigger canoes paddling back and forth. These are just a few of the highlights, not to mention incredible sunsets that go on forever. The house is immaculately appointed with everything that you could want or need. Very private and quiet, save for the ocean sounds. A great privilege and opportunity to experience something most could never even dream of. Excellent!
This house and view could not have been better. We watched whales and saw spinner dolphins from the lanai. The openness of the house allows for ocean breezes throughout. The koi pond was a great and entertaining addition. This home is so peaceful and private. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful house! Enjoyed our stay. Ali’i Point location provides you a great view and waves constantly crashing. Great layout of the house although not much shaded outdoor area in the back is a little draw back. In the evening if you want to watch TV it’s hard to do so without closing the doors due to sound from waves and koi pond but then it gets warm as this area is unable to be air conditioned (minor complaint). Bedrooms are very comfortable and nicely air conditioned for sleeping. Overall a great experience and hopefully we’ll get to stay here again!
Beautiful home but the Kona area directly outside the gates wasn't that enjoyable. Just very crowded and you get more of the shops you would see on boardwalk. We had an issue with the TV in the living room (didn't work) and I was directed to call this person to call this person. No thanks. For the money spent, I would expect to have everything working properly. That being said, if you are looking to enjoy a great pool with a great view its a nice place. Personally, I felt that your dollar can get more value in a nicer area up the coast, north of the airport.
My wife and I stayed for a week in this beautiful house. While there is plenty of room for a family (3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms) it was perfect for our needs. The master bedroom has air conditioning to help with the warm days, but the main living space of the property does not. With doors that open complete walls for a cross breeze, we were never uncomfortable. The pictures don't do this beautiful home justice. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was equipped with all that you should need. The view was the best thing about this place. I would estimate it to be over a 180 degree view. Listening to the waves crash made for the best sleep of our lives. The koi pond was equally tranquil and a nice touch. The location is close to restaurants and shopping so was super convenient. We are already picking another week to book this year because a week felt like two days. We were very sad to have to say goodbye. There were only a few problems which would be easy to address in the future. There were no towel racks anywhere in the house including the bathrooms. This made it difficult to dry towels to prevent mildew before washing. It was only the two of us, but I can imagine it being more of a problem with kids. The outside trash bins were completely full when we arrived making it difficult to shove our trash in them for a week. We were not informed of a trash day that we could have put the bins out. The outdoor patio was very dirty and my wife had to spend the first morning sweeping it off. It remained mostly clean for the rest of our stay which told us it just had not been swept in a while. Also, the pool was dirty as well. We used their skimmer and brush to try to brush the dirt out and managed to improve the cleanliness after about 3 days. These are things that we just didn't think we should have to worry about on vacation and didn't see a need to call someone else to fix during a holiday week. They may want to consider running the filter for more than what seemed like 8 hours per day while guests are staying. The pool guy did show up toward the end of our stay, but didn't have much to do since we had been cleaning it all week. LOL! Those few issues will definitely not prevent us from returning, and we can't wait to enjoy this property for another amazing week.
Out of this world
This home is absolutely beautiful. The view, the pool, the location, the gorgeous kitchen, in home fountain and pond, all are just incredible. The master bedroom suite is huge and just wonderful. Other bedrooms too. The location close to town is perfect. Add the fact we watched a whale 800 yards out breech 25 times and thats the icing on the cake.
