This was a very nice condo. The view is lovely...if only there was a comfortable way to view it. Every other lani had a chase lounge, except this one. The King bed was comfortable (though a bit hard to turn in as it is memory foam). We barely used the kitchen so can't speak on that, but it seemed to be well stocked. The water pressure in the shower was not great, but it was a nice big walk in shower. You can't use the towels at the pool because this condo is privately owned. There are only 5 beach towels provided, so you have to wash the towels if you're doing a lot of swimming. The amenities on the property are wonderful, especially for a family: ping pong, putt putt golf, crochet, tennis. Plus the condo provides some coffee and plenty of laundry and first aid supplies. There are also several beach chairs and an umbrella available. All in all, we loved the property, but a comfortable place to put your feet up on the lani would have been preferable. If we go again, we would probably choose a different condo that was owned by the resort as there is a slight feeling you get from the staff that you are not really part of the resort because you are in a privately owned condo.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! Check in and check out was very smooth. Beautiful sunrises and views from the balcony, perfect location with the bike path out front and shops nearby. The condo had everything we needed for our stay and the layout of the condo worked perfectly for 3 of us. I would recommend this property and would stay here again!

This property was exactly as described. One could stay on the balcony for the whole stay, and be very happy. The location was perfect for excursions to either the North or South shores. The walking/bike path is steps away,and bike rentals less than one block away. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again!

The location was PERFECT! Watching the sunrise from the balcony and while walking on the long, paved walking path were highlights of the trip. Staying in Kapa'a gave easy access to the whole island as it is centrally located, and only 15 minutes from the airport. Even though it is clearly not a new building, the property was clean and accommodating. Garden Island Properties was great to deal with when I had a question (Claire was particularly helpful). We would happily stay again!
We only had a short stay. Property is exactly as described. Kitchen is very well supplied. Enjoyed have beach towels and chairs available. Host was very easy to work with and helpful.

We had a great vacation and great experience. The property management company was attentive and check-in and check-out was a breeze. The condo was exactly as the pictures showed. We had plenty of space for out family of four and everything was there that we needed. The views were amazing and we enjoyed many a sunrise sitting on the balcony drinking our morning coffee. We were within a short walking distance of the shops/cafes/restaurants and the walking path right outside our door was also great. The amenities of the complex like tennis courts/swimming pool/equipment rentals for the beach/putting green/etc were used quite a bit and it was convenient to have all of that on the property. Overall we enjoyed our stay, never had any issues or concerns and would definitely stay here again.

We loved the condo! The beach in front of it was clean and not crowded, plus it had the best sunrises! Other guests would bring their cup of coffee and just sit by the water, watching the sunrise. There was a paved walk in front of the resort where the public could walk or ride bikes, but it was never noisy. The AC was great to have on those hot afternoons. With the king-size bed in the main level, the queen bed and twin bed in the loft, we had more than enough room for the four of us. The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler were useful. The only drawback was having one bathroom and the laundry not being in the unit, but those were managable. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Kauai is our favorite island!
Great location. Rooms all had fans and AC.
Bed was too soft for me but others might like. The apartment is dated and we had issues with the sliding door but other than that everything was fine.
Property is great. Pool,hot tub, walking distance to shops and restaurants. I would stay here again.
This unit was the perfect location, clean and close to shopping/ restaurant. Great walks along the ocean!
Groundskeepers were always out keeping the place looking great.

Other than the hurricane, the stay here was great
I would have given this place higher rating if the living room furniture was minimally comfortable. The 2 wicker chairs are so uncomfortable, they belong outside or something; they were awful. The couch was very small and uncomfortable as well. So, our family couldn't even sit in the living room comfortably. I just don't understand why the owners can't realize that people spend this much money on a condo, why wouldn't they think they'd like to be comfortable after a long day of being out and about. All they would have to do is get a sectional or even a couple of recliners and would make this so much better. On the flip side, I'm so glad there was A/C, even though it was inconsistent, we still were able to stay cool. So, don't believe anyone that tells you that you don't need a/c in Hawaii, as they are either not being sincere, or they are used to sleeping in high humidity outside or something. If you are used to sleeping warm or lots of humidity, then you'd be fine. This location was very good as a base, in that we could go north or south and cover alot of ground. That and there were numerous affordable eating locations that were really good. I would have liked to stay in the north, as it's prettier, but affordable restaurant selections were hard to find, and the area seemed to be very crowded. FYI, beach is really not optimum for swimming, as the water is not clear, lots of debris swirling around; but is great for the sounds and view.
We really enjoyed Pono Kai Resort...the property is beautiful and this unit has a spectacular view of the ocean with beautiful sunrises every day. The staff is very friendly here, maintenance around the property is very good and this unit is well stocked with everything you will need. We plan to return to this unit again...and we have been to Kauai many times... Mahalo!

I could have lived on the balcony. I watched the sunrise every morning which meant during the heat of the day the sun was on the other side of the building. Listening to the loud crashing of the waves while on the balcony was wonderful. I did a lot of work on the balcony and there was no problem with the internet. Ditto with inside the unit. The connection and speed were great. It was nice walking to the food trucks, restaurants and clothing shops on the edge of the property. The grounds were well kept, and I always felt safe. The air conditioning had multiple controls and they were well labeled. The lights and fans were also well labeled and there was no question about how to make something work. The kitchen had more implements than any other unit I have rented. Not only was there a corkscrew for the wine bottles, but it also had a wine bottle stopper. There were more cooking items in the kitchen than I have in my home. The closet had an ice chest and items for the pool but we didn't use them. The bed felt mushy & I thought I would have trouble sleeping but even though we use a hard bed at home, we had no trouble sleeping and no back problems in the morning. Living room chairs and the couch were not very comfortable but they were clean and in good condition. We did not use the loft. I would have liked a 2nd TV in the bedroom.
Unit had a nice east-facing view. Beach a bit narrow but atmosphere relaxed. Centrally located so easy drive north/south to other beaches.

Unit is top floor with a view. Location is close to town, so we walked everywhere. Safeway store we drove to because we loaded up for the week and didn’t want to carry.
This is a nice 2br condo with 2 floors. Well equipped and right on the beach. The only negative was the fact that there are literally no comfortable seating options anywhere in the condo. We found ourselves lying on the bed mostly for comfort. The 2nd floor bed mattress is very thin and needs a replacement. The grounds are nice. There is a nice hot tub but so many chemicals that it burned your eyes. A note for future guests, this is a privately owned condo so therefore you can’t use the resort provided pool toys, towels etc. The unit has beach towels and chairs but they are mismatch. A few simple improvements and this is 5 star condo. The area itself is very rustic and there are lots of food trucks but I can’t say we were comfortable walking at night, it felt a little gettoish.
