- A friend and I stayed for a week, I have friends living in Kahalui. They took us around a lot. I went snorkeling and saw a lot of turtles. - The cottage itself was very comfortable for the 2 of us, and I had put my local friends on the contract so they would come for dinner (brought fish they caught!). The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was fine, a little small and with a shower stall, no tub. ***It would be excellent if you could get a fan put in the bathroom to suck some of the humidity out and send it outside.***- Close to beaches (can walk to 2). - Private yard with tropical gardens (my favorites - Plumeria, Tahitian gardenia, orange jasmine), and birds. Also outdoor shower available, and hose near door to wash your feet off. - Washer and dryer which were very welcome in the heat and humidity. Also another toilet in the laundry room. - Kuau store very close and convenient.- Paia town very “cool” with shops and restaurants.- Mama’s Fish House is close by. We found it very overpriced (no prices online), i.e. local fish entree 80. Maui is expensive but Mama’s was not worth it in our opinions. Also I had made the reservation months ahead of time but was unable to get a lunch reservation on a Monday until 12:15. They open at 11:00, this meant all the tables by the windows were already occupied. - We found some great restaurants in Paia which were great and reasonably priced. - great spot!

The location couldn't have been better. We loved the relaxed vibe, the amenities, and especially the little outdoor space to enjoy meals.
We LOVED our stay in Paia at the Menehune Cottage! Cathy from Maui Vacation Prop Rentals was SO accomodating with anything we asked or needed! The location is IDEAL..sweet neighborhood near the beach you can walk to and relax on with the turtles and snorkel in, swim around in a safe protected zone with the famous Mamas Fish House Restaurant right there with their beautiful grounds to walk around on. The Kua Store is minutes away that is awesome! The town of Paia is quaint and has everything..lots to do nearby. The cottage is old hawaii so not updated, but VERY comfortable and cute. The beds are great, the living space is great..with a great little yard in front that's private too. There's not a dishwasher, but it was fine since we went out to eat often and easy to clean yourself. We loved everything and highly recommend staying there!

The cottage is confortable, clean and well equipped. the location is very well entered and close to the airport. The garden is small but private, and includes a large parking space. A nice small beach is located at 400 m. The person in charge (Cathy) is very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this cottage. Thank you again
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. All the necessities were available. Nice quiet neighborhood, easy walk to the beach access.For anyone that needs higher performance Internet/Wifi, this may be a concern. For most users it will be sufficient. However the mesh system (wifi backhaul from the router in the laundry) we found access to be spotty at times. It would not work well for doing Zoom calls. We tried to watch Hulu / recorded sports games and found it not really functional on several nights. The smart TV was OK however the replacement remote did not provide all functionality needed to control TV apps.All other aspects of the stay were excellent - I only call out the WiFi/TV as one area of improvement.
This is a great little house for 2 couples, or potentially a family with a few kids. Cozy accommodations just a few minutes from Paia town and with walking access to an awesome little corner store for snacks, coffee, and some groceries. Quiet location with beautiful landscaping, super dark night skies, and great access to some nearby north island beaches. We spent 10 days at the house and loved every minute!
This little cottage totally met our needs for this trip. 2 bedrooms, decent kitchen, small bathroom was just fine. The bedding was quite comfortable. Only the larger bedroom had an air conditioning unit - we thought both bedrooms should have had one. This cottage was nothing fancy but it was quiet and clean and well maintained.
We loved everything about this rental. The house was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. The location was ideal! Mamas beach is walking distance and was our favorite spot for playing, swimming, and snorkeling. The Kuau store had everything we needed at very good prices! I am so excited at the thought of coming back and for anyone else being able to experience this magical place. We are heading home with very full hearts.
A Hui Hou Maui!
Menehune Cottage was warm, welcoming, comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well-appointed and had everything you could possibly want for preparing food and drink. Shower, fluffy towels, and comfy beds made us feel at home. Fans were provided and while we were there the evenings were lovely and cool; an AC was provided for the master bedroom, but only needed in late afternoons. The property is amazingly cozy, quiet and close to a couple of beaches. Lovely stay in a wonderful place!
The cottage is great: clean and comfortable,well-appointed and has everything you'd need. Best sleep I've had in awhile!
Being able to walk to Mama's beach and snorkel during my lunch hour on this working vacation was wonderful. The Kuau store provided morning cappuccinos and breakfast and lunches.
We rented an electric car at the airport and were able to drive everywhere we wanted for the week on just the original full charge. The fee from the car rental agency to return it uncharged is WAY below market rate for a tank of gas!
