You can’t beat the location of this unit (top floor). Breathtakingly beautiful view of the ocean just a few paces from the water. Gorgeous sunsets, calming waves, lots of fish and spinning dolphins and other creatures of the sea. We’ve been to Kona Bali Kai twice now, and we’re coming back!
Exactly as described, we enjoyed our stay.
We have stayed in the Kona Bali Kai condos before,in different units,but this unit fell flat.The word “penthouse” sold us on booking this condo.Overall,it’s dated-furniture,cabinets,appliances,everything inside was dated.And it was so dark.Barely any light.Even with all the lights turned on,it felt dark.It could definitely use some upgrades.The floors were not the cleanest upon arrival.Sand & dead bugs in places when we arrived.Owner will have to take that up with the cleaning crew.Limited A/C to one small area of the condo.If you’re in the back room (by kitchen) you’ll bake.Only one set of towels & 2 rolls of TP in guest bathroom for a 10 night stay.Washing machine stinky.We had to go buy washing machine cleaner.Ran it through 3x and still stinky.Bed linens were flimsy & bed was on a cheap metal frame.I barely leaned against it & it slid across the floor.TV had a big slip cover over it.IDK if it was broke or just a heavy dust cover.Not sure.We didn’t even touch it just in case something was wrong with it.There’s a binder on the table with instructions to read it.Iskimmed.It’s sooooooo long.We are on vacation.We don’t want to read a book of rules.Also,would have been nice if we were notified of garage construction.That said,it did have all the amenities you would expect:dishes,toaster,coffee maker (although it could use a good cleaning),pots & pans,boogie boards,coolers,beach chairs.That was nice. And the view.Can’t beat the view.That’s why we like Bali Kai.
Fantastic location, close to everything in Kona but private/quiet and family friendly. Delicious tacos and poke within walking distance! Condo was excellent with all the amenities we needed for our one week stay and we slept to the sounds of the ocean every night! Thank you Mike, we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit!!
Nice location. Lots of beach items to use. Plenty of parking. Was very relaxing listening to the waves at night. One issue was they were aware the shower in the 2nd bathroom was broken but didn't attempt to fix it until after we called, and it wasnt fixed until our 3rd day into our stay. Other issue was the 2nd bedroom stayed fairly warm as the a/c unit only cooled the living area.and master bedroom.
The unit is as ocean front as you can get. Loved hearing the ocean all night. It is very well stocked for all ages. Games for kids and tons of beach toys. The kitchen has everything you need. Clean and made for a relaxing stay. Close to town. Parking is tight but very doable for our full size SUV rental. Would stay in this unit again.
This place was fully stocked with everything we could need! Would 100% stay here again.
The condo was very comfortable for our family of 3. Owners have taken extra care to make sure the condo is stocked with amenities. We loved the lanai for morning coffee and sunsets.
Great location and condo. Stayed at others before. Nicely equipped clean and comfortable. And they trimmed the palms to see surfers
We had a fabulous family spring break vacation staying here. Close to great beaches and loved the tide pools right there. Mike was amazing, very responsive and very helpful. The condo had all the amenities and equipment for the beach, chairs, cooler, umbrellas and snorkeling equipment. Would absolutely stay there again!
This was a wonderful unit and had everything we needed! Highly recommend!
There were five of us staying in the condo. It is very nicely furnished and equipped. We got off to a shaky start when the office was unexpectedly closed, so a wheelchair was not available. My husband has walking problems, but we managed to get him upstairs to the unit. Thankfully after a call to the owner, someone appeared with a wheelchair for our use the remainder of the stay. That was much appreciated. We spent hours on the lanai watching the tides and sunsets come and go. Our family enjoyed the many beaches and found several snorkeling and board surfing locations nearby. Also the town of Kailuea-Kona is 2 miles away where there was good shopping and eateries abound. Thank you to the owners for making this unit available for us to enjoy.
This location was close enough to the action but not down in the middle of traffic so we found that very valuable. The amenities of the condo where everything we could have wanted. Mike provided many things that we never would have thought of someone providing.
Enjoyed our stay and the condo had everything we needed.

Property was just as advertised. They had everything you need other than bringing your food for a delightful stay and only steps from the water.
The view of the ocean allowed us to watch surfers and a number of whales and even had a Hawaiian Monk seal come up on the beach.
The owner was very easy to work with. The condo was just as advertised and extremely well equipped with everything you might need for a Hawaiian vacation. Close to shopping. The view is excellent and we enjoyed watching the surfers and the sunset.

I walked In underwhelmed … don’t judge a book by its cover. Just came from the Hyatt regency In Maui, this was our second stay on a 3 island visit. Little did we know it was exactly what we needed and wanted. The ocean …every single night. I don’t know how I’ll ever top that seriously, of all the stays in all the cities this was phenomenal. Clean, we barbecued, we cooked we laundered, we tended to wounds, there was everything we could need and more than should be expected, grocery store minutes away!! Snorkeling, cooking, first aid, shampoo. It’s truly home away from home. Book it with zero regrets. I promise!! If we ever go back to Kona we will stay here again without hesitation
This condo was as advertised and awesome! The entire property is a bit dated, but safe, and very functional. The owner was easy to connect with and quick to respond. There is clear communication in the flat about everything from the local area, to wifi, to how to leave the space when you depart. Well stocked kitchen and lots of goodies left behind by other guests that we could use so it really had a communal feel. The breezes and sounds of the sea were awesome! We watched the morning surf group each day while having our coffee. Great parking and a great place to anchor as we drove to different parts of the island each day to adventure. There are grocery stores nearby, but you would need a car.
The best thing about staying here was being right by the ocean and hearing the waves crash. I also liked how comfortable the beds were and how nice the place was over all. I found that the kitchen was a good size as well. The only issue was that the pool was cold. Mike was a great host and very responsive
We really enjoyed this two bedroom condo. The unit was sparkling clean and well-stocked with anything we could have needed. The grounds are great and well maintained. Tide pools were fun to explore. Waves crashing and beautiful sunsets when we were “home”. We would definitely stay here again.

We sat on the lanai every morning & evening. We could actually see fish & turtles swimming! Condo had everything we needed.
Just a lovely spot - ocean waves and breezes, views of surfers and dolphins in the morning, all the amenities (thank you for beach chairs and snorkeling gear). Nice 40 min walk into town, Da Poke on site (amazing Poke), and easy parking - truly one of favorite spots we have stayed.
We stayed for a quick visit with our kids in October and really enjoyed the location. The little beach at the corner of the property was great for poking around tide pools and watching the surfers. This place has everything we needed for trips to the beach and coming and going to Kailua town for food and fun.
We had a great time in this apartment. It has everything you need. Kitchen well stocked, beach and snorkeling supplies, a well functioning AC (was pretty hot and sticky when we were there) and more. The grounds are well maintained and there a great poke place on site. Mike provided me with a ton of information about the property and the area, and was very responsive to all of my inquiries.
This place is amazing. The virw is amazing and the l9cation is perfect! Mike is an amazing host!
Plenty of room, clean, easy parking, safe area... condo had plenty of extra things including all kinda of beach equipment. Comfortable sleeping for the for of us and the lanai was the highlight! Great place.
