This home is so cute and perfect for a week stay with friends. About an hour drive from Honolulu airport but located near north shore and Waimea Bay. Local walking paths, fruit stands, shrimp trucks and fun beaches nearby. Beach in front of house is rocky but a sandy beach is about a 3-5 minute drive down the road. Limited amenities for inside home (no shampoo/no laundry detergent). Plenty of towels for everyone and has AC! The master bathroom is chefs kiss Back patio is where everyone is going to want to be except being bug spray because there were mosquitos.
House was perfect size for our extended family. Air in bedrooms was nice but upstairs still stayed warm even with AC units. Could use a little TLC.
The house worked for the 6 of us. Plenty of room for everybody. The view is beautiful.
We LOVED our cottage! It was absolutely everything we hoped. Big house, beautiful grounds, awesome kitchen and lanai!! Every bedroom was super spacious with AC!! Slept sooo good! We saw spear fishermen, a seal that came to shore literally on the beach behind our yard, night fishermen, tide pools. We are already planning our next trip to rent out ALL four of the cottages with more friends and family. You can’t do better if you want North Shore laid back Hawai’i vibes. Thank you for an amazing trip!!

The house was perfect for our trip. Plenty of room, clean and well-stocked. The provided beach towels and boards, umbrella, floats, etc. were great. One of the beach chairs was broken, but there was another one. The shore at this location is rocky but beautiful. No swimming here but tide pools to explore and great beaches within a few minute drive. The yard was great for playing, the trees were beautiful, and the view can't be beat -- especially sunsets. Quick drive to food trucks and grocery store. Would definitely stay here again. We hated to leave.

Our family enjoyed our stay immensely! The location was perfect! Short drive to many must see locations! The view from the house was incredible! We spent lots of time out on the lanai eating together. We loved the wildlife! :) The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of room for our family of five, everyone had their own space.The beds were a little hard but Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean made up for that!We would definitely stay here again!Mahalo

great place to stay able to do some whale watching. beautiful sunrises/sunsets easy to get around to all the different areas maybe a bit more lighting in the back for coming in at nite would be helpful

The place is beautiful and the best room is the one upstairs with a view of the ocean. It has a beautifully spacious bathroom with a shower and tub that has a view of the ocean. The AC units in all of the rooms cooled them very well. The loft area with the two twins does an ok job cooling so I'd put children there. It has all the kitchen stuff you will need, plates, cups, glasses, a blender and cooking utensils along with all kinds of pots and pans. The place was very clean and had nice linens and towels. It was a fantastic place to stay. Halwevia was a 10 minute drive and the beaches were maybe a 5 minute drive. We got to see whales breaching from the lani and at Waimea beach we watched the surfers. It was a great time all around.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect house for our trip. There's plenty of room and the house was stocked with all the necessities for a beach vacation. Close to many shops, food trucks. Just a short walk to a beach with calm waters and a farmers market with fresh produce, shave ice and cold brew. Gorgeous views from the backyard. We could sit on the deck and watch the whales jumping in the distance until the beautiful sunsets every evening. The only thing we were missing was binoculars! The host was fantastic and provided all necessary information well in advance if our trip. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was absolutely perfect for my family of 8. The house was clean and well stocked. The sleeping arrangements worked out well with two kids, grandparents, parents, and auntie. The best part of the house are the stunning views. The house was close to a swimming and boogie boarding beach. We also loved the distance to the fruit and shave ice stand. The house is close to grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants. We would rent this house again. Thank you for the amazing vacation!
Our large family had an absolutely fabulous time! This is our second stay in this group of homes and there is no place better on the North Shore. The views are immaculate! We saw whales and turtles from the lanai. And the neighborhood chickens and cats are pretty awesome too! We will always come back to this spot!!
The house and location was perfect for our family’s week long visit! We had 2 seniors, 2 adults and 3 kids. We enjoyed the tide pools on the beach and even got to experience high tide coming in! If you’re looking for a great place to land and spend time relaxing, look no further! Super convenient location to all the tourist stops on the north shore and grocery stores and food trucks! Would love to come again in the coming years!

A reunion with all our kids and grandkids this past July 2024 at Kawela Kai #503 and #501 consisted of 4 families totaling 13 folks. The easy stroll between the 2 houses made it super easy to see each other, spend time on each other’s lanais, barbeque and dine together. The lanai was the best feature with it’s wide expanse and fantastic view of the ocean and sunsets. With eight chairs around the table and ample seating on the bench, all of us could congregate comfortably. The kitchen is well-equipped. Previous renters left various condiments such as salt, pepper, some spices, tea bags, Pam spray, and other dry goods. It’s best to check out the cupboards before you buy anything at the market. The one thing that we found absolutely necessary was to bring or buy a sharp knife/knives! The ones provided were super dull. The front-loading washing machine and dryer were fairly new, full-sized and stacked on each other. Detergent is provided. Salt air takes a toll on beach houses. We contended with hard-to-slide screen doors. Unfortunately for us, new screen doors were installed a day or two after we checked out, but it should benefit future renters. The AC unit in the 2nd floor bedroom in #503 was not working at check-in. We called Celma, our agent at Team Real Estate, who took care of the problem right away. Although it was at the end of her work day on a Friday, she drove to a hardware store, bought a new AC unit and delivered it to our unit. She got a technician to come out the next day to install it. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Celma went above and beyond and we are so grateful for her dedication in meeting her clients’ needs. Thank you, Celma!Note: Summer months bring out the flies! So get a fly swatter and food tents for both indoors and outdoors. Grocery shopping is convenient at Foodland Pupukea--great selection. Food trucks galore along the north shore and in Hale

We decided to have our family reunion at this property. Our parents both passed last year and we took the family on a get together in their honor! Everything was amazing from the view to the home itself and everything in between. The location was amazing. Close to everything you could possibly need including amazing snorkeling with sea turtles. We spent 5 nights at Kawela Kai 501 and really enjoyed our time. It was a great place for my 4 year old son to spend time with his family. We had nice family dinners on the lanai, explored the tide pools, fished from the rocks, and went out to a few local restaurants. I would stay there again.
Beautiful beach rental with a gorgeous view of the North shore Shoreline. Close to great beaches. We will definitely do this again soon.
Loved the location of the property. Easy to find, located on the beach. Backyard has a great deck and nice grass area with lounges. Down the steps is the beach, which has a small area you can relax in, but most of it it full of lava. Not swimmable, but you can see small crabs and fish and we saw occasional turtles. In the mornings and evenings we sat on the deck and saw the whales going by, splashing as they passed. BBQ was charcoal, so we had to back to the store, which during the day, is a long drive. One downfall is the drive from the property and Haleiwa. It's very congested and takes around 40minutes to go around 10 miles? or less? The property management company is very responsive and came by to replace a blender that was broken immediately. There were an unmanageable amount of flies, which I have never experience on the islands, I have visited over 20 times. Not sure if it was the time of the year or the fact that the house or lanai did not have ceiling fans, which easily deter them. The queen bed in the upstairs bedroom is very squeaky, so that when you turn over it wakes up everyone upstairs. With all of that, I still give it 4 stars as the location was great and the house very nice.

We love staying here. Our family had stayed here multiple times and will be back again. The ocean views from this property are stunning. We watched beautiful sunsets from our lanai and listened to the waves crash all day and all night. Collected pretty sea glass during our walks on the beach every morning. It never gets old. The house is spacious with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. If you want a private house for your family vacation, we highly recommend this spot on the north shore.
