Mermaid Manor is the nicest house I’ve ever rented and I’ve rented a bunch with VrboEverything is just perfect right down to the doorknobs. Elegant luxury.This is the perfect place to stay in the Kona area. Home owner and the property manager both checked on us.
Recently stayed in Mermaid Manor. The pictures online dont do the property justice. View are excellent, property well stocked with fluffy clean towels, spices, dishes, etc. New kitchen, new beautiful countertops & flooring. Everything needed for a great day on the beach, towels, chairs, snorkel items....even a wagon to haul it all around:)Tide pools....our 5 YO Grandson loved exploring. Everything was perfect. Could have easily stayed a extra week or 3 :) Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.
The property is everything they say plus tons more! You can see and hear the ocean from every room! Two outdoor showers!!! The tide pools were awesome! Becky helped make the trip unforgettable. She even helped us arrange a personal chef for an intimate birthday dinner over looking the ocean! A quick walk to downtown Kona or an easy drive if that is your thing! We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much!!

Great location within walking access to Kona town. Two large bedrooms with on suite with amazing ocean views. Spacious living area & plenty of lanai space on all floors for ocean and whale watching, plus outside/ocean access via steps over small sea wall. Ocean can be pretty rough so exercise caution, but ocean access via sand beach a short walk away.Spent our nights in comfort listening to the crash of the ocean waves. Kitchen well stock with fruit tray/macadamia nuts treats as welcome bonus. Host very friendly/helpful and responsive. Garage a little tight for bigger vehicles or if you have multiple but there is some off street parking.
Was able to watch whales and different ocean life from the lanai. The host had everything there we needed from Kona bean coffee to beach towels, beach chairs, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked. Short walk to eat breakfast. Ate at Jackie Rays! Loved! The upstairs carpet definitely needs to be replaced. Nice and roomy. The mermaid shower was unique!
We had a lovely time. A nice, clean home on the ocean. Beautiful, relaxing and a no-stress environment. Easy to get to and close to everything. Would stay there again!
Our stay at Mermaid Manor was extraordinary. The beauty of the home and its surroundings far exceeded what the photos capture. Ideally located near town but away from the tourist hustle, the house offers both convenience and tranquility. The spacious rooms, infused with a breezy Hawaiian ambiance, each feature large windows framing stunning ocean views. One highlight was the oceanfront area with its enchanting mermaid tide pools, where we spent hours relaxing in the shallow water. Experienced snorkelers will love diving off the lava rocks to explore a vibrant coral reef teeming with fish.
The property owner was incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed, and the housekeeper was exceptionally friendly, sweet, and welcoming. The house is fully equipped with all the kitchen essentials and more, including extra beach towels, blankets, and pillows. A must-do experience is showering in the mermaid shower at night, where the sounds of the ocean and sea breeze create a truly magical atmosphere. We can't wait to return to this oceanfront paradise.
